» SlideShare is a web-based, slide hosting service that can be accessed on the internet or via handheld devices.
» Launched in October 2006.
» LinkedIn acquired SlideShare in 2012 and has since revamped the hosting service.
» Originally it was intended for business, but now hosts slides for entertainment as well and is compared to YouTube for slides.

» Social Networking interface allows for: commenting, likes, and following other users.
» Can be integrated with Facebook and Twitter.» Can be integrated with BlackBoard.» SlideShare allows sharing the following content:

Sign In, Upload, Share, Zipcast
Sign-In:
If you have a LinkedIn or Facebook account, you can click on login to SlideShare
automatically with the same info. Or sign-up if you do not have an account.
Types of Accounts:
Free – Supported by
advertisements and limits
some collaboration features.
PRO – Paid account that removes
advertisements and has
no limitations.

Exploring :
The home page allows for “Exploring” with the Search Bar or by clicking on Topics Below.

Uploading:
Click on “Upload” and the screen provides space for dragging and dropping files. Along
with the option for Public or Private settings.
HOW TO USE
ZipCasts:
Live Conferences with video feed, presentation and Messenger Text box.
Much like Adobe Connect.
Sharing:
Click on “share” and then select from many options like: LinkedIn, Twitter,
Facebook, Pinterest, a link for sharing or a link for embedding the presentation.
Mobile:
Accessible with a computer via browsers and all mobile devices-may download the
SlideShare app or use browser.
Feedback:
The system also provides the option to view how many people have viewed your
Slides, in addition to how many have shared, liked or embedded.
