IIMANIIMAN is “Belief or Faith” to something beyond sense

perception, termed as “ - al-ghayb” meaning “the

unseen”.

It is derived from the root word “ ” which also means

“safety, peace, security, protection”

It denote: “certainty of the ultimate truth”, adherence to it

instils sense of “security in him” from doubts, uncertainty,

restlessness etc.


Yet from Islamic perspective “iiman” cannot be by mere blind

acceptance devoid of proof or substantiation i.e. Believe or

faith must be with knowledge.


"And do not follow (pursue) anything of which thou "And do not follow (pursue) anything of which thou

hast no knowledge: verily (thy) hearing and sight hast no knowledge: verily (thy) hearing and sight

Allah wishes to honour mankind over the Angels, Allah wishes to honour mankind over the Angels,

provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your

bade the angels prostrate to Adam, and they prostrated, not

so Iblis; he refused to be of those who bow down.”

(Qur’an: Surah al-A’raf: 7: 10-11)

Mankind’s test began when Mankind’s test began when IblisIblis , after being , after being

Make them despair (in attaining their plans) towards usMake them despair (in attaining their plans) towards us, just as , just as

You made them despair from seeking Your Forgiveness.You made them despair from seeking Your Forgiveness.

Keep them away (distance) from usKeep them away (distance) from us, just as You made them to be , just as You made them to be

His arrogance and enmity towards Adam a.s. and all His arrogance and enmity towards Adam a.s. and all

Reward and punishment, surely would be for Reward and punishment, surely would be for those who deserves – it is not granted arbitrarily.those who deserves – it is not granted arbitrarily.

the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him… ”

committed, and keep all my statutes and do that which is

(Note similarity with the Islamic concept of ‘TAUBAH’ here : consistent with Islam. Unfortunately later Christian Church leaders have replaced this with their concept of the ‘original sin’ , ‘blood redemption’ and ‘vicarious atonement’.)

Thus for them, it requires a Saviour to redeem him out of the ‘Sin’ – (by vicarious atonement) alleging: “Jesus dying for the Sins of mankind”
