Installation Guide

Hello, Welcome to the reference guide for installation of MKCL’s ERA eLearning Revolution for All. This guide will help you to understand the installation procedures in more detail. Please read this Installation Guide carefully before you start the actual Installation.

Before you start …

• Install MKCLs ERA on the server machine of your Intranet. (Operating system should be Windows XP or Windows Server 2003)

• Ensure that you have atleast 5 GB of free space on the drive where Operating System and IIS is installed. (By default, this will be in the C:\)

Before you start …• Install the Server and Client from a login where it has

the Administrative privileges.• You should have Flash Player installed in the

machines inorder to view the contents properly.• Put this installer DVD in the DVD drive in your server

machine itself; so that installation will be smooth.

• Check whether Internet Information Service (IIS) is installed in your machine. If IIS is not present, you will receive a message as follows during the installation.

• If IIS is not present, you have to install IIS.• Click here to open the document with more details on IIS

• If .Net Framework 2.0 is not installed earlier in your machine, the installer will start the installation of .NET Framework

• If Microsoft SQL Desktop Engine (MSDE) is not installed earlier in your machine, the installer will start the installation of MSDE for the ERA instance.

MKCLs ERA Installation

• Once all the prerequisites are over, the installation of ERA will start.

MKCLs ERA Installation…

• Read the instructions and ensure that you are having minimum 5 GB free space available on the drive where Operating System and IIS is installed. (By default, this will be in the C:\)

• Enter your Center Code. Make sure that you are entering your center code correctly as this will be used throughout the system.

• This center code will be the Login ID of the Learning Facilitator (Admin) login of ERA

• Enter your desired password which will be used for login to the Learning Facilitator (Admin) login of ERA.

• Preferably you can keep the same password which is used for login to SOLAR.

• Confirm the Center Code which you have entered. Make sure that the Center code is correct. If the Center Code entered is correct, press Yes, otherwise press No

• It might take around 60 minutes for the installation. This is because around 3 GB of physical files are getting copied to your machine. Please wait for the complete installation to get over.

ERA Installation is completed. You can use the

icons generated on your desktop for accessing the

various logins.

MKCLs ERA Activation

• Login to the Learning Facilitator login• You can use the icon present in the Desktop for

accessing the Learning Facilitator Login

• You can also open the Learning facilitator login from Start >> Programs >> ERA >> ERA – Learning Facilitator

MKCLs ERA Activation…• Once ERA installation is over, you have to Activate ERA

Framework.

Enter your SOLAR Password and click on Submit Button

MKCLs ERA Activation…

• You will get a message of successful activation if the Activation Key entered is correct.

• Now you are ready to enter into the eLearning world

Conclusion• Congratulations !!! You have installed MKCL’s ERA.• You can login to the Learning Facilitator login using the

shortcut icon available in your desktop. Enter your center code as your Login ID and the password which you have chosen at the time of installation.

• Normally the Learning Facilitator login will have the following URL: http://<<server machine name>>/era/sysindex.aspx

• Using the Administrator login, you can download the learner details.

• Learners can login by providing the following URL in their browser:http://<<server machine name>>/era/index.aspx
