Leave lots of time between appointments so you can be relaxed!
Book appointments at quarter to or quarter after the hour. These are more available than on the hour or half-hour.
Arrive at least 15 minutes early for your appointment.
Don’t take the last possible appointment. You and your hair dresser will be exhausted!
Try to have your nails done before yourhair appointment

Don’t forget to have small meals or snacks and to keep hydrated.
Keep your cell phone handy to keep in contact, for emergencies or to call for rides.
Don’t bring your dress to your hair appointment—bring a picture.
Save an elaborate hair style for the prom or your wedding.
Wear a button-down shirt so you don’t damage your hair style when changing into your dress.

If you are wearing any hair accessories, bring them with you and consult your stylist.
There are many options to the hair styling experience:◦ Not everyone wants to go to a stylist. Some girls like to do each others’
hair at home—have fun and express yourself.◦ A simple bun is a classic.◦ Naturally curly hair can be set with gel products to hold.◦ Simple and straight is always elegant.◦ A simple heirloom is beautiful around a simple ponytail or knot.◦ Add clip-on or add-on hair to match your own (Sally’s Beauty Supply).◦ Make note of what works and what doesn’t for
the next occasion!

Homecoming Tips
DATE OR GROUP? Students DO NOT have to have a date to go to the dance
Even students who have a date can go with a group
Most groups are mixed with some students who have dates and some who do not
Parents of those in the group can meet to determine dinner plans, transportation and after party plans
◦ Be sure to share phone numbers
◦ Most parents feel more comfortable when they meet their child’s friends’ parents
Homecoming Tips
Dinner Tips◦ Host a catered dinner for your child’s group
◦ Have everyone contribute money
◦ Have everyone bring a dish for the dinner
◦ Make reservations at a restaurant for your child’s friends
Make them early—there are lots of groups out there!
Pre-order meals if possible
See if there is a set “Homecoming Menu” at the restaurant of choice
Homecoming Tips
Photo Tips◦ Be sure to get some casual shots of your child and
her friends before they go to dinner
◦ Have all parents and kids meet at a scenic spot to take pictures
◦ Be sure to share with the other parents
◦ Suggest the kids take their formal portraits right when they arrive to avoid long lines
Homecoming Tips
After Party Tips◦ Not everyone will want to have an after party
◦ Ideas
Swimming party
Game party
Times Square (call ahead to reserve space!)
Just hanging out, talking or watching movies
◦ Make sure you have snacks for hungry teens
◦ Make sure your child’s after party is chaperoned by a parent

◦ Football tickets & dinner (if they choose to go before the game)

◦ Corsage

Simple Rules for Dating My Son/Daughter
A simple rule for dating my son:◦ I know how today’s ‘fashionable’ young woman likes to dress.
When my son brings you home to meet us, if there are parts of your clothes that allow parts of your anatomy to show, we will take care of it before you leave. I have an extensive supply of duct tape and super glue. You see, I can’t take the chance of an accident happening when my son’s eyes pop out—he will need them both for medical school.
A simple rule for dating my daughter:◦ If you pull into my driveway and honk, you’d better be
delivering a package, because you’re sure as heck not picking anything up!
Your patronage will help us show our appreciation to the following individuals and businesses for their support of our program this evening.
