Saint Lawrence Academy and Saint Lawrence Elementary and Middle SchoolTRANSCRIPT
To all of our alumni, benefactors and friends:
Grazie. Xie Xie. Arigato. Gracias. Merci. Mahalo. Cam on.
No matter the language, it all means the same thing: “Thank you!” An expression of thanks can take many forms: a handshake, a wide grin, a greeting card, or a shriek of delight is just a few of the ways that reflect one’s gratitude and appreciation for a gift or a kind deed.
I speak on behalf of everyone at Saint Lawrence Academy and St. Lawrence Elementary and Middle School in saying “thank you” to all of our friends and benefactors, especially those listed within the pages of this year’s Annual Report.
The generosity of these various people and businesses led to many grins and spirited handshakes. One of the most meaningful ways we have demonstrated our thanks to our benefactors is by using their gifts to further the schools’ missions which ultimately makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
Our missions have always been to provide the best possible Catholic education to our students without charging tuition that is inaccessible for our families. The contributions of our benefactors are vital in making this high quality education possible for our students. The reality is that many of our students would not be able to obtain a Catho-lic education at our schools were it not for the generous support of our community. In addition, such generosity has enabled the schools to provide challenging academic and co-curricular programs, modern technology, im-proved facilities and grounds, and to attract and retain dedicated and highly competent faculties and staff.
Our benefactors can be assured that their gifts to the school are used to their highest potential. By investing in the lives of our students, their gifts help prepare our students well for the next chapter in their educational story, and for life. By partnering with Saint Lawrence Academy and St. Lawrence Elementary and Middle School through their generosity, our benefactors ensure that the schools continue their missions and that our students have op-portunities for a bright and meaningful future.
And so I again say “THANK YOU” to the many people, and businesses listed in this year’s Annual Report. You are indeed making a difference in the lives of our students and in our future. May God bless you for your generosity and support.
Saint Lawrence, pray for us.
Sincerely,
Philip DolanPresident

Annual Auction & Dinner: A Night In ParisMore than 240 guests attended this year’s Annual Auction & Dinner that was held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the Saint Lawrence Community Center. Guests were welcomed to a “Paris” themed event featuring cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, silent and live auctions, dinner and raffle draw-ings. This celebration set a new fundrais-ing precedent raising over $55,000 to support our gym fund and provide the critical funds needed to meet our operat-ing short falls each year. We are grateful to our friends and supporters for making this annual fundraiser a true celebration of our school community!
Annual Comedy NightLaughter filled the air at Saint Lawrence on October 20, 2012 as parents, parishio-ners, alumni and friends gathered to cel-ebrate as a school community. The Saint Lawrence Academy Improv Team kicked off the fun-filled evening providing some great laughs followed by an all-star line up of stand-up comedians who performed to a sold out audience. We are thankful to
those who attended and supported the event making it a hilariously successful fundraiser for both schools.
Luck of St. Lawrence LotteryWe are thankful to our community for another successful year with Luck of St. Lawrence Lottery raising a total of $40,660 for Saint Lawrence Parish and Education Center. The Parish raised $7,845; Saint Lawrence Academy raised $10,544 and Saint Lawrence Elementary and Middle School raised $22,271. The Parish selected to direct funds raised from Luck of St. Lawrence towards the operating budget and debt service while Saint Lawrence Academy and Saint Law-rence Elementary and Middle Schools earmarked the funds for technology. The development of the new technology Tech Media Center at the Academy is the ben-eficiary of the Luck of St. Lawrence funds. The Elementary and Middle School purchased technology items (Apple iPads and iPods, printers, projectors and head-phones) to improve curriculum at the different grade levels.
