SK Senai Utama Key Result Areas:

Key Result Areas or KRAs usually refer to common areas of outputs or outcomes for

which the organisations roles are accountable. KRA is simple terms may be defined as

primary responsibilities of an individual, the essential part which each individual is

responsible. It is very imperative to have KRAs because KRAs will set the goals and

objective and prioritize the actions and then advance the time and work management. It is a

key feature of the organisation or institution which the strategic plan needs to be

implementing. Falling enrolment, inability to end the fiscal year in the black or high under

achievements students are symptoms which suggest a key result area for the strategic

planning process. Finding the major threats to the organisation and any opportunity could be

the preliminary fact for developing the KRA.

KRAs benefit individuals in an organisation to:

    1. Clarify their roles and align their roles to the organisations business or strategic plan;2. Focus on results rather than activities;3. Communicate their roles purposes to others;4. Set goals and objectives;5. Prioritize their activities, and therefore improve their time and work management

    skills; and

    6. Make decisions that add value to the firm

(Life Role Development group 2001, an adaptation)

Normally, KRAs capture about 80% of a labour role. The remains of the role are

frequently dedicated to areas of common responsibilities (e.g., helping team members,

participating in activities for the good of the organisation). Most roles include 3 to 5 key

result area. Therefore, if an individual is accountable more than what he or she capability of,

they could be overloaded or burden with too much of responsibilities.

While KRAs are part of activity or a focus, objectives are the explanation of action

that is needed within that key result area. There must be at least one objective for each KRA,

but there might be quite a lot of depending upon the difficulty and significance of it. There

could also be objectives outside the KRA in areas that are fewer complexes. Regularly there

will be areas that need to be continued as it is, excluding for one or two fine tuning

arrangements. Those arrangements can be the subject of an objective. Objective must be

clear, concise, written statements outlining what is to be achieved in KRA over a time period

and in measurable rapports that are reliable with the general mission of the organisation.

Objectives are the result chosen upon completion of the planning period. KRA will be

responsible for the topic activities while objectives tell what need to do in each area.

Key result areas stimulate the organisation to assess of the existing position against

where the organisation needs to stay. Measuring where the organisation are at the present and

establishing where the organisation going to be and to be successful in implementing on the

plan permits the organisation has to drill down to the details. Throughout this exploration, the

organisations could define observable, measurable and verifiable objectives that will carry on

focusing the resources on what matters most. How will the organisation close the gap? The

action plans established must address how the organisation drives to do this. The framework

for these can be taught and then all key stakeholders participated in building and reporting on

their action plans. To construct accountability into the organisation, it is suggested that to

handover an owner for each key result area. Each objective will also have an owner

accountable and responsible for accomplishing the results committed to.
