WHO IS MR. EARLY?


I’M THE FATHER OF MORGAN (16), ZACHARY (13), AND ANDREW (9).

MY WIFE CHRISTINA RUNS HER OWN SALON (BUT PLEASE DON’T JUDGE HER WORK BY MY HAIR-- SHE’S A STYLIST, NOT A MIRACLE WORKER).

I’VE TAUGHT ENGLISH, TAG, AND ACT PREP AT LHS SINCE 2003.


IF I’M NOT AT SCHOOL, I’M WITH MY FAMILY. I LOVE HANGING OUT WITH MY WIFE, KIDS, AND OUR LAB, CHARLIE. SINCE MY KIDS GAVE CHARLIE A BOY’S NAME, WE HAD TO BUY HER A PINK COLLAR SO PEOPLE WOULD KNOW SHE’S A GIRL!


EVERYONE KNOWS THAT ENGLISH TEACHERS LOVE TO READ, BUT SOME KIDS THINK WE ONLY READ SHAKESPEARE AND OTHER CLASSICS. NOT TRUE! MY FAVORITE AUTHOR IS STEPHEN KING. I LOVE A GOOD SCARY BOOK, AND MY FAVORITES BY KING ARE IT, DREAMCATCHER, AND THE STAND.


I’M ALSO A DIEHARD CHIEFS FAN. BEFORE THEY MOVED CHIEFS TRAINING CAMP TO ST. JOSEPH, I DROVE TO RIVER FALLS, WISCONSIN JUST TO WATCH THEM PRACTICE! I’VE BEEN PREDICTING A SUPERBOWL VICTORY EACH YEAR SINCE I WAS 12!


I’M A HUGE MOVIE NERD! MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME IS RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, BUT I ALSO LOVE STAR WARS. MY KIDS WON’T LET ME IN THE ROOM IF THEY ARE WATCHING GHOSTBUSTERS BECAUSE I CAN AND WILL RECITE THE ENTIRE MOVEI!


AND OF COURSE, I LOVE TO TEACH! I BELIEVE IN CHALLENGING MY STUDENTS, AND I LOVE WHEN THEY CHALLENGE ME. LAST YEAR, DURING OUR FILM UNIT, MY TAG STUDENTS CHALLENGED ME TO MAKE MY OWN FILM, SO I MADE ONE ABOUT THEM.
