Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

(Hybrid)

 Description: Six Sigma Black Belt training prepares participants to solve awide variety of difficult problems across a wide spectrum of industries(transactional, service, manufacturing, healthcare) drawing on bothquantitative and qualitative methods from the complementary domains of Lean and Six Sigma. A Lean Six Sigma Belt is a process facilitator, naturalleader, and astute problem solver who is a data-driven, bottom-line agent for achieving complex project breakthroughs and for powering organizationalchange. 

Learning Objectives: After completing this course, participants will be able to understand:

  Apply such Lean concepts as 5S, waste reduction, process

mapping, value stream mapping and mistake proofing

  Define, scope and execute DMAIC projects and Kaizen events 

  Apply the DMAIC methodology to business issues and transitionprojects from phase to phase

  Apply basic and more advanced statistical analyses to determinethe relationship between key inputs and process outputs

  Effectively manage team dynamics and understand how to workwith multiple levels of leadership to remove barriers and achieveproject success

  Close projects and hand over control to process owners 

  Present projects to instructors, peers and manages 

Certification 

Students achieve certification after completing a project and passing the Lean SixSigma Black Belt exam. When you graduate, you will have both the skills andconfidence you need to succeed as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Course Prerequisites

   Aptitude and general understanding of basic mathematical functions

  Proficiency in using computer software  License/Access to Minitab

   A project with measureable cost or organizational benefits
