5 Million Petitions/5k Per DistrictStep 2-Target Date: July 4, 2010

The only way to make Congress act responsibly is to remind them firmly that they are to represent us! That’s why we need 5 million Americans nationally and at least 5,000 in every Congressional district to sign the Deficit Free Balanced Budget Amendment Petition. Congress will act…but only if we demand it!

• Our Immediate Goal: 5 Million nationally, 5,000 in each District by July 4, 2010

Announce Signers of BBA Pledge Step 3-Target Date: October 1, 2010

Do the candidates wanting your vote support the Balanced Budget Amendment? We’re going to ask every candidate for Congress and the State Legislature to take the Deficit Free Balanced Budget Candidate Pledge and we’re going to let voters know who’s for a balanced budget amendment and who isn’t.

• Our Immediate Goal: Announce singers of the BBA candidate pledge on October 1, 2010

• 5- MINUTE ACTION – See who’s signed and who hasn’t • $20 JACKSON ACTION – Help us publicize which candidates have taken our

pledge. Your contribution of $20 will help us sign up 10 more supporters!

BBA in Every Party PlatformStep 4-Target Date: July 4, 2012

Elections matter. That’s why we need to help get delegates elected to every party’s national convention – Green, Democrat, Republican, Libertarian. Once elected, we will push to have every party’s platform support the balanced budget amendment.

• Our Immediate Goal: Elect at least 100 delegates to every party convention in 2012

• 5- MINUTE ACTION – see what it takes to be a delegate for your party.• $20 JACKSON ACTION – Your contribution will help us create the physical

presence needed to ensure every party adopts a platform position in support of the balanced budget amendment.

BBA Is Top Issue In 2012 Presidential

Step 5-Target Date: October 1, 2012

From hosting a Presidential Primary Debate, to candidate pledges, to vote communications, we need to ensure the balanced budget amendment is THE ISSUE in the 2012 presidential election. We want to ensure that no matter who wins, there’s a firm commitment to pass a balanced budget amendment early in the next presidential term. The Deficit Free grassroots army of millions of voters from every congressional district will be activated.

Congress Refers BBA to States by 2013

Step 6-Target Date: July 4, 2013

After two Congressional elections and the election or re-election of a president, it will be time for Congress to act. We will push Congress to refer to the states the balanced budget amendment prior to the Independence Day recess.
