We approach this sale with a grateful heart and renewed enthusiasm. In February we said good bye to Grandma Birdie Frazer, who along with Grandpa Ken, founded Six Mile Red Angus. They had a great life on this ranch, raising the cattle they love and we are so grateful for being able to share in their dream. So we dedicate this catalog to both their memories.

Ruff Ride is an excellent heifer bull candidate. His deep, dark red hair coat grabs your attention and his length, style and performance keep it. His dam is owned with Glengary Ranch, AB and was a $10,000 heifer calf in the Soo Line Dispersal. She exhibits a nice level udder and has done a great job on her first calf with a 107 wean index.

These Rawhide calves all have great hair coats. Lot 7 is a longer bodied Rawhide son again out of a two year old. He weaned at #2 in his contemporary group giving his dam an impressive wean index of 117.

This soggy bull is thick and deep with an easy – fleshing ability. His dam is a beautifully made female that is known to produce these powerhouse bull calves. She has a wean ration of 103 on 6 calves. The sire here, Ripped 206X, was a high selling Smash son in our 2011 Bull Sale to Triple Play Cattle Co., SK. Sakic daughters are proving his +24 milk number by raising big strong calves. Sakic’s EPD’s are highly accurate and have him in the top 1% of the breed for total maternal with great spread between birth weight and growth. A Sakic daughter, Red Six Mile Cheta 702W, was the high selling cow at the 2012 Red Roundup sale going to Triple L Angus and Wright Livestock, SK. It was a sad day this winter when we lost Sakic, but we are pleased to know that he made a positive impact on the industry and will remain influential in years to come.

Hot Rod is the only calf we got out of the $16,500 bull, Red Six Mile Fifth Gear 275X that is owned by Duralta Farms, AB. 154Z was raised with his twin on his own dam with no extra creep feed and did very well. His dam is an attractive female with an outcross pedigree.

Straight Up is a big hipped, deep sided, stout individual. His dam has done a great job for us with an average wean ratio of 105. Summit daughters are good uddered, deep bodied mother cows.

Lot 71 is a very impressive individual. First of all he is a sure fire calving ease sire. Then add in his exemplary structure, deep red color, excellent muscle shape and his style. Vice Versa covers all the bases from birth to performance to carcass. He is long sided with an attractive profile. His maternal sister sold to Casen Rogers, OK, as a show heifer in our 2011 Fall Production Sale. That heifer, Fly Girl, has turned into a beautiful, deep bodied, tank of a bred heifer for the Rogers family. His dam has an average wean ratio of 115 on her first two calves showing the maternal abilities of Full Throttle daughters.

We have been sourcing breeding stock for both our commercial and purebred herds from Six Mile for over 40 years. Our breeding herd would not be what it is today without the extensive Six Mile genetics that back them. Our ranch will calve out 760 females, consisting of 60 Registered Red Angus, 200 Registered Black Angus and 500 commercial Angus females. Our Purebred Red Angus females calve in April and May, with all the calves being held over for the two year old market. Only the top of that group is offered for sale here. The first winter they are fed long hay with no grain, and then grassed until November 25th when they come home. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call.

We used the sire Benefield Substance 8506 after seeing his bull calves at the Ellingson Bull Sale and were impressed. His sons offer a bit different pedigree and lots of substance!

BIDDING: Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder whenever there are two or more bids. The auctioneer will settle any disputes. TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash. The right of property shall not pass until after the settlement is made. All settlements will be made with the clerks of the sale immediately follow-ing the conclusion of the sale and before any cattle will be released from the ranch. Financing terms are available if prior arrangements are made with Clayton and Corrine. PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Cattle will be kept free of charge until May 1, 2012, when they are to be picked up or delivered. We strongly urge the buyer to insure any bullls left, as they are yours when the hammer falls. DELIVERY: We offer free delivery of your bull(s) to central locations in Canada and the United States up to 500miles. Free delivery applies to purchases of $2500 or more. Purchases below $2500 will be delivered at cost. If you choose to haul your own bull, and take him within 5 days of the sale, we will deduct $50 from the purchase price of each bull. INSURANCE: A Livestock Insurance Agent will be present to care for the insuring of cattle. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: A certificate of registry and transfer will be fur-nished on all cattle sold as registered animals. ANNOUNCEMENT: Changes of information contained in this catalogue relating to the animals offered for sale will be announced from the auction box and such announcements shall take precedence over the printed matter in this catalogue. BREEDERS GUARANTEE: Six Mile Red Angus guarantees to sell you a bull that has passed a semen test and breeding soundness evaluation completed by a qualified, licensed veterinarian. However, should a problem arise, please let us know so arrangements can be made without delay. Should your bull fail to be a satisfactory breeder - as agreed upon by buyer and seller - he will be replaced with a bull of equal value. Should this not be possible, an adjustment will be made to reflect the value of the bull in ques-tion, or a credit given towards the purchase of another bull. Six Mile keeps bulls out of the sale for this sole purpose. Yearling bulls shall be guaranteed breeders for no more than 20 females. AGAIN, each bull as passed a semen evaluation, however, it is the buyer’s responsibility to make sure that your new bull can physically service a female and is able to settle them. In the rare case he is not working, please let us know ASAP and we will be happy to rectify the matter. We will however, not provide replacement or adjustment for physical injury or mismanagement. Bearing this in mind, we stress the important of insurance on your bull. At no time shall the seller’s liability exceed the purchase price of the bull. In the event of any unlikely dispute the standard terms and conditions of the Canadian Angus Association will apply. IDENTIFICATION: Each purebred animal carries a readable tattoo. LIABILITY: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of the buyer, neither owners, sale manager, clerks or anyone connected with the sales assumes any responsibility, legal or otherwise, for damage of any kind. HEALTH STATUS: All Six Mile bulls have been vaccinated with Express 5 vaccine which includes IBR, PI-3, BVD - type 1 and 2 and BRSV. They have also been vaccinated with a somnugen and black leg vaccine. Each bull has been treated with Ivomec. US FUNDS & EXPORT: American money will be accepted at the most current rate of exchange on sale day and announced prior to the sale. Bulls will be export tested at Six Mile’s expense and delivered as soon as possible following the sale. RIGHT TO DRAW SEMEN: SIX MILE RED ANGUS reserves the right to draw 100 straws of semen for within herd use from any bull sold in the Sale. To be done at Six Mile’s expense and Buyer’s convenience. DNA TESTING: Any bull sold needing DNA testing will be done by Six Mile provided the bull remains at Six Mile after the sale. Please inform the sales clerk at time of settlement. SIGHT UNSEEN PURCHASES AND GUARANTEE: If you are unable to attend our sale, but are interested in our bulls, we can take an order on any of the Bulls in the sale. Give us a call and we’ll discuss what you need and what we have that will suit your needs. You may also leave a bid in confidence with any of our sale or ring staff if you wish. Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed. When the Bull is delivered to you, you are under no obligation to take him should he not meet your expectations.
