Modernisation with maximum convenienceEfficiency is the buzzword, and it's all about saving energy and thus also achieving lower operating costs. Efficiency though is also now demanded by EU legislation, and following the ban on incandescent lamps, high pressure mercury vapour lamps will also be removed from the market to 2015 as a result of ErP regulations - precisely those

lamps found in many obsolete lighting systems. The time has come to prepare for the future. Both the BELL LED and the special BELL LED module are ideally suited for mod-ernising or expanding existing installations with low effort. The visual appearance is maintained.

BELL LED construction

Mast and bracket

Both components are normally maintained

with refurbishments. The service life of masts

is a good 50 years. Housing and bracket are

connected for easy mounting: with a thread

until 2002, and after this date via bayonet

catch.

Housing

Usually the housing is not replaced either with

modernisations. The value of the luminaire

itself is secured.

BELL LED module

Practical, simple and highly easy.

Easy mounting is focused on with refurbish-

ments, because BELL LED modules have the

LED gear tray and a new enclosure already

connected.

They are inserted together with a few turns

of the hand. The LED gear tray and cover are

also available separately if required.

a highly precise optical system. Facetted reflectors split the light of high power LEDs and distribute this directionally onto the working plane. In this way the BELL LED optimally complies with the demands of various situations with road traffic.

BELL LED | Simple Installation

Optimum handling is of central importance

The BELL enclosure is removed simply

by rotating.

To remove the old gear tray only two screws

need to be loosened.

Simple and practical: upgrading BELL luminaires to LED is done with a few flicks of the wrist. The cover is removed by rotating, and the gear tray with the old lamps is removed. With the BELL LED module the gear tray and LED module are already connected to the enclosure; these can be

inserted together. Regular relamping as with conventional lamps is no longer necessary due to the long service life of the LED modules. The use of LED technology means that soiling of the luminaire is also less because LED light attracts significantly less insects.

BELL LED | Simple Installation

The LED module is fastened to the housing via a retaining

wire. This leaves both hands free for the connection.

The LED module with gear tray and enclosure is inserted

into the luminaire as a complete unit.

BELL LED | Intelligent Control

Intelligent control saves even more energy In addition to the use of efficient LED technology, further energy can be saved by the application of intelligent controls. Not every traffic situation, type of weather or time of day needs the same quantity of light, and at the same time lighting must always comply with legislative standards, with the maxim being as little as possible and as much as required.

Modern LED technology can be dimmed and switched steplessly and almost without power loss, and individual,

electronic control is also possible. In this way the luminaire can be specifically set for its application with high precision and according to needs, and with minimum energy for operation.

Up to 16 % of energy can be additionally saved for example via constant luminous flux control available with the Plus control package, rendering the over-dimensioning of lighting installations unnecessary and compensating for the age- related reduction in luminous flux.

A feel-good factor for townsWhen illuminating urban areas, safety and compliance with standards is focused on, but in towns with plazas, streets and prestigious roads, design with light is also important. During daytime as well, luminaires must blend harmoni-ously into their urban surroundings, providing light for living environments in towns and cities.

The modernisation of obsolete street lighting systems certainly pays. Around 2.7 billion kWh of energy, 1.6 million tons of CO2 and thus 400 million euros are available for this in Germany alone. The quickest way to achieve this is to refurbish obsolete lighting installations with new, energy-efficient luminaires and lighting technologies.

With Siteco's online calculation programmes you can easily find out which energetic savings potential exists. Our web-site provides tools such as the Siteco Lighting Tool and a cost efficiency calculator as well as sample installations for such purposes.

Cost Efficiency CalculatorThe Siteco Cost Efficiency Calculator is a web application for evaluating the cost efficiency of two outdoor lighting installations. The installations ('comparison installation' and 'new installation') can be compared over a variable service life in terms of investment costs and operating costs. For evaluating cost effectiveness, the amortisation of an invest-ment over the service life is calculated both statically and dynamically, and displayed in tables and diagrams.

Siteco Lighting ToolThis tool enables you to select a product with just a few clicks and to transfer this to RELUX and DIALUX lighting planning programs. Indoor and outdoor product ranges are available. The products can be selected via the catalogue structure (product segment, group or family) or via features (mounting method, lamp type, lamp quantity, control unit etc.). The tool also offers the complete text search as a further search option. Data can be forwarded to DIALUX and RELUX via drag & drop. The Siteco Lighting Tool is currently being expanded with an application search function for indoor and outdoor applications, and is aimed at users with knowledge of lighting planning and specifically valid standards.

The tool is intended to provide support when searching for optimal luminaires from the Siteco product spectrum, and provides answers to e.g. the following questions:— Which luminaire meets the specified lighting class with
