OUR VISIT TO THE SCHOOL

Recently we had gone on a pilgrimage to Thanjavur. As a part of our temple tour we decided

to visit the construction site of School near Thanjavur. As we drove from Mayavaram to

Vadakkur mother nature treated with her lush green fields, groves and line of trees as well

as with the sight and sound of the flowing river. We drove through the winding roads

crossing the bridges and reached the school site. We were rendered speechless by the

beauty of the school set against a backdrop of lush greenery.

The class rooms in the ground floor and first floor were very impressive. The plastering work

was about to commence.

The second floor roofing was expected to be started in a day or two.

The grills for the windows were solid and massive.

We were surrounded by the enthusiastic team of Swami Sundar ji and Professor

Swaminathan.

We were touched by the simplicity of the villagers we met.

It was heartening to see my children run enthusiastically up and down the school building

while interacting with the workers.

We spent a few minutes enjoying the sight and smell of the fields as well as the breeze.

We left the place with a heart filled with hope, joy and most of all, contented.
