Course Aims This 5 day course aims to help site managers, agents and supervisors to: Manage health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions, and within the context of their management or supervisory role Develop an understanding of responsibilities and accountability for site health, safety and welfare Recognise a safe site is efficient, economical and productive. Objectives At the end of the period of training, delegates will be aware of, and able to: Implement all health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affects them during their daily work Implement new guidance and industry best practice State their duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and the environment. Programme summary Course introduction, structure and exercises Current statistics, enforcement of legislation Criminal law responsibilities for health and safety failures The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations Civil law liabilities for health and safety failures Management responsibilities Managing contractors CDM regulations 2015 Work at height Workplace equipment and lifting operations Hazardous substances and workplace welfare Monitoring of health and safety Accident reporting and investigations Communication and co-operation Electricity at work Fire safety This course will require an element of private study. The course is completed with several group core exercises throughout the five days, each of which is assessed by the tutor. A multiple choice question paper with 25 questions and a pass mark of 72% is delivered on the final day. Extensive printed handout material is provided for each delegate Successful delegates will receive the CITB Construction Site Manager’s Safety Certificate Please note we impose a minimum of 6 delegates per course. Fees £562.50 (includes CITB Fees) + VAT (non-residential).
