Sisters In Business Testimonials

You have done a wonderful thing!! The most difficult thing during the start-up of my business was to find a mentor. Now I feel that I have a resource for any assistance that I may need. I’m looking forward to meeting some of the members. I will say that I have joined many organiza-tions....none (save PIA) have seemed to satisfy my needs. Glad that Monica encouraged me to get in on the $100 deal. I check the website often and have noticed many positive changes. Thank you and you have my full support.

Karen Lee, Citywide Insurance Services, SIB Client

I got into SIB by word of mouth. When I got on the website, everything was there I needed to know. I was thrilled and excited to become part of a business with a group of women who owned their own businesses, and plus who were women of God. I wanted to be part of that. I am in the catering business, and enjoy meeting people, so I knew I would get to meet an array of people in the network. So when I came to the membership meeting and

met Tekelia, I was ready right then to join, before the presentation.

Deborah Grimes, Creative Catering, SIB Client

“I have visibility! The empowerment luncheon is a good and powerful thing! It offers me a great way to get the word out about my business. The tradeshow gives me the opportunity to show all of what Avon has to offer now, in addition to our cosmetic products.”

Janice Burse, Avon Beauty Advisor, SIB Client

I just would like to give a hats off to Sisters In Business for all the support you gave me on “Choices for Care” for the elderly and disabled in Tennessee. I know that without all the support we received from our community, our Governor would not have made the decision to include services such as Adult Daycare and In Home Respite; and give an increase in Personal Care Services in the Medicaid waiver this fiscal year for our elderly and dis-abled. Thanks to Sisters-In-Business for bringing awareness to

the community by the newsletters, and the direct link from the Sisters-In-Business web site to AARP, to sign-up for the Choices for Care Campaign. Also the “Girl Friend” site was great! We were able to take over 59 people with us to Nashville on April 5, 2006 to Rally because of all the support we received. Sharon Kelly, R.N. Rose of Sharon’s Senior Villa, SIB Client

Sisters In Business Testimonials

I have had the opportunity to talk to Tekelia Kelly... and also Deborah Gunn. I have visited the website and observed how other members do their businesses in the community. And I have found that this is the kind of organization I am attracted to, and want to be a part of. I have a lot of contact working with the public, and with customers in the bank who have interests in business. I use my word of mouth to spread the

news about Sisters In Business.

Linda Long, 1st Volunteer Bank , Branch Manager

Sisters In Business has exposed my business to the community by way of its website. It also has given me more exposure through the SIB newsletter. If I had not been in the newsletter I would not have gotten that exposure. My advertising in the newsletter resulted in business leads and customers. The newsletter is also good and effective because not every one uses the web to get their information.

Dorothea Johnson, Inner Glow Skin Care, Licensed Aesthetician, SIB Client

The networking aspect of Sisters In Business was the key for me, and it has already been a blessing to me. I have met some very business savvy Christian women who have suc-ceeded in reaching their goals. They have their own busi-nesses and are very much willing to share and have shared with me information I need in pursuing my business and reaching my goals. Sisters In Business has allowed me to be-come acquainted with them in a user-friendly, personal, and relaxed atmosphere.

Beacon Ministries, located in Chattanooga, Tennes-see, was established in 1993 as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit religious and educational corporation, created to provide Biblical and Theological education and training for Christian laymen.

Beacon Ministries is not part of any particular local church or denomination, but adheres to the highest standards of biblical and theological doctrine The Beacon Ministries Statement of Faith and Mission Statement are included in this material.

Beacon Ministries started as a Bible study in a home. Over the years the Bible study grew in numbers and moved to several different locations in the Chattanooga area.

Providing Christian books and study materials, temporary food, housing and transpor-tation became a necessity as the ministry grew. Christian counseling for pre-martial, family, and financial issues was added to the ministries offered in the mid-90’s.

In early 2003 Beacon Ministries opened a dynamic venue for ministry - the internet. A virtual Christian resource center is continually updated on the Beacon Ministries web-site www.beacon-ministries.org. In the first five months of operation over 60,000 indi-viduals took advantage of the website. By adding a sophisticated E-mail system, Beacon Ministries communicates with devotional and Bible study material to hundreds of peo-ple across the United States several times a week.

The SIB Proverbs 31 Business Woman Model was originally created by Tekelia C. Kelly. The

model is of a woman who reveres the Lord Jesus Christ, and seeks to serve Him with all her

life. Her goals are to be a positive, wise, resourceful, and helpful woman; a productive manager

of time, money, and resources (about handling business); know her strengths, abilities and

what she has to offer (empowered); effectively develop relationships and conduct business with

merchants and customers in the marketplace (networked); plan and be able to build wealth for

the well being of her family, buying land and other resources as needed (sustainability), look out

for and care for her home and friends; a treasure and delight to her husband, and valuable

contributor to her community. She works to not just to make money, but also to make a positive

difference in someone's life (has a “heart & soul for doing business”). She is a celebrated

(blessed) woman by her children, husband, friends, and those in the community.

SIB “Proverbs 31” Business Woman Model

The Severn Principles of the Proverbs 31 Woman is a similar model found at www.proverbs31.org. 1. The Proverbs 31 Woman reveres Jesus Christ as Lord of her life and pur-sues an ongoing, personal relationship with Him. 2. The Proverbs 31 Woman loves, honors, and respects her husband as the leader of the home. 3. The Proverbs 31 Woman nurtures her children and believes that mother-hood is a high calling with the responsibility of shaping and molding the children who will one day define who we are as a community and a nation. 4. The Proverbs 31 Woman is a disciplined and industrious keeper of the home who creates a warm and loving environment for her family and friends. 5. The Proverbs 31 Woman contributes to the financial well-being of her house-hold by being a faithful steward of the time and money God has entrusted to her. 6. The Proverbs 31 Woman speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction as she mentors and supports other women and develops godly friendships. 7. The Proverbs 31 Woman shares the love of Christ by extending her hands to help with the needs of the community.
