Sirona (Cerec/Omnicam) Process for Dr
ADDING GREAT LAKES ORTHODONTICS TO YOUR LAB LIST:
• To send Great Lakes scans, you will need to have at least the 4.3 software and be a part of the
Cerec club. § If not, contact Patterson Technology Center (1-‐800-‐475-‐5036) and they can assist you.
• If this is the first case you will be sending to Great Lakes Orthodontics, you will need to first add our lab to your lab list which is referred to as a “Favorite Lab.”
§ You will need to log into your Sirona Connect account
§ You can find us in the list of labs under “Great Lakes” or by searching via our zip code (14150)
SENDING GREAT LAKES YOUR FILES:
• Once you have connected with us as a “Favorite Lab” you are ready to scan your patient. § Make sure your camera license is valid. If you get an error telling you it’s not valid, you
will have a copy of how to activate the license in your email from Sirona when you purchased your license.
• Scan your patient’s upper, lower and bite position in the same position you would have set up
when taking a wax bite to send us casts.
§ You will need to provide a vertical dimension “VDO” appropriate for the appliance you need.
o 1.5 mm from highest point of contact for a Splint or Open and advanced for
Sleep or Functional appliances.
SCANNING & EXPORTING A CASE FROM YOUR CEREC ORTHO SOFTWARE:
• Seat Position Setting on Trios § Before you begin scanning your case, it is important to make sure your settings
are where you need them to be. § Select “Configuration” which is located in the system menu
§ Select “Settings”
§ Select “Seat Position” o You need to tell the software where you actually physically scan the
patient from because it affects the orientation of the camera • For example: Most doctors will scan the upper arch from behind
the patient in the 12 oclock position and scan the lower arch from in front of the patient
• Log in and “Create Patient”
• Fill out the last name, first name and date of birth
• Select “Create Scan”
• You are now ready to scan with guidance
§ Green tells you where to start
§ Position over the molar and wait for three beeps to indicate you should start your scan
§ Follow the yellow line o If you “fall off” you will be given a green point to start again
§ Once you get to the checkered flag, hold your position until you hear three beeps indicating you’re done with that scan.
• Follow the prompts to move forward to the next scan you’ll need.
• “Complete Jaw” has yellow areas pop-‐up that need to be filled in
• Once you’re done scanning, you will go through the “Model Phase”
• “Set Model Axis” shouldn’t need to be adjusted because of the guided scan, but verify that it’s correct.
• “Check Bite” to make sure the double buccal bite has articulated your models correctly
• “Edit lower” and “Edit upper” are when you cut/trim any areas you don’t think are necessary
§ At this stage, keep in mind Great Lakes needs 1.5 mm from highest point of contact for a splint or open and advanced for sleep or functional appliances.
• “Export”
• Export to “Sirona Connect Portal” to then send to lab § You may need to log in again
• Connect
• Select your lab from your Favorite lab list • Select a return date • Select “Add Additional Information”
• Select Male or Female
• Under “Additional Instructions” write exactly what the lab needs to fabricate your appliance. You can treat this area as you would a prescription
• You can also select “Add File” and upload any pictures and/or prescription
• Select “Add to cart”
• Verify the information:
§ Patient’s name
§ Lab you’re sending the case to § The due date
• Once the upload is at 100% -‐ “Submit Cart” add your password again and then hit “Submit”
