About usThe foundation of the company LLC “Siphonik System Drainage ve Insh. San. Tidj. Ltd.Sh-ti” was established in 2009. By the efforts of our company, created to imp-lement activities in the field of manufacturing and provision of drainage systems for storm flows of buildings’ and constructions’ roofs of industrial purpose both on the territory of our country and abroad, as of today, the implementation of more

than a hundred projects at hundreds of thousands of square meters is successfully completed.

Having concentrated its activities basically in Thrace, the first branch of the company has been opened in Bursa, thus the rate of development of its activities

What is a Siphon System?The essence of the operation of siphon drainage system for storm flows is the use of the Bernoulli principle, the principle of liquid flow energy, according to which the storm waters, without the need of installation of any fall, are removed via storm flows or from the roof of terraces. In order to achieve the water draining without construction of fall, the vacuum method is applied. Thus, a vacuum creation doesn’t require the use of any pumps, check valves, as well as any mechanical or electronic systems. Due to the fact, that in the process of piping the fall has not been constructed, the water coming from the roof is collected in horizontal pipeline. At that moment, when the water from horizontal pipe

falls into the drain pipe and fills it, the process of evacuation, achieved through a siphon system, begins.

By the fact that the siphon system operating on the principle of evacuation carries out the suction, a negative pressure appears in the system. For a line system operation it is necessary to achieve a difference balance of negative pressure and flow rate. And in order to achieve the balance, the pipes of different diameters are used.To perform a correct comprehensive hydraulic calculation and implement this work by a practical way, various computer software is applied.

How to develop a siphon system?

Advantages of siphon system

During the process of siphon system designing in order to determine the amount of atmospheric precipitation, it is necessary to use the “maximum values of volumes of atmospheric precipitation, identified through observing of regulatory weather conditions”, indicated in the reports of meteorological services. A reference point for us in these reports is the index of the peak level of precipitation, the measurement of which is made within the shortest period of time, namely within 5 minutes. The system design is created depending on the design, properties of coating, roof slope and form, based on the amount of precipitation, taking into account the maximum permissible value variations. Due to the fact that the amount of atmospheric precipitation may significantly vary according to region, the buildings which are similar in size require the use of completely different pipes by diameter.

• It has low-cost price owing to absence of necessity to assemble additional utility networks in-building and low number of waste channels.

In classical scheme of storm water drainage, water removing is carried out due to sets of drainages, connected to each other and located in-building. Technology of overhead rolled steel sections solves a problem of HDPE pipes decreasing and tensioning under the influence of differential temperature, as the result, thoroughly reliable operating system is achieved.

In view of the facts that siphon system assembling is realized with the application of flash butt welding and electro-socket welding technique, installation within the system of seals is not required. And since there are no laying and sealers, the risk of escape of water in attaching points is absent.

Because of the fact that siphon system works on the basis of vacuum principle, a certain vibration of pipe arrange-ment takes place during operation. In order to dispose such vibrations, horizontal pipes are attached to the shape with the help of clamps of corresponding diameter, fixed on the defined spacing.The other striking feature of the overhead system, accomplished with the application of steel section, connected with chemical properties of HDPE pipes material. The point is, that affected by temperature differential, HDPE pipes constrict (shorten longwise) and stretch (extend). Such pipes’ deformations and their vibration may damage fixation of drainage hopper that can cause escape of water.

Siphon drainage hopper is one of the essential system components. Various

types of them are applied, depending on roofing types, regional specific features,

meteorological conditions and customer requirements. Two types of drainage

frames with stainless flanges or HDPE material are developed by our company.

All pipes, applied in the system, poses properties of pressure rating SDR 26– PN 6, eligible for butt weld and corresponding to the technique of electro-socket welding.

Genellikle ülkemizde imal edilen prefabrik oluklarda kullanılmaktadır. Süzgeç oluk iç genişliğine uygun olarak üretilmektedir.

This drain funnel of gutter made of stainless steel, with dimensions 30 cm x 30 cm, is mainly used abroad. It is mounted on steel stormwater runoffs of the house. Due to the fact that the mounting flange is large in width, it is more reliable in terms of tightness and insulation.

Drain funnel of terrace type with dimensions 22 x 22, is applied, as a rule, in the roof of the terrace, with dismantled layer of membrane insulation, bitumen insulation, PVC-membrane insulation and other types of insulation.

Funnel of this type with dimensions 30 x 30 cm, is mounted on the roofs of terraces, with prior removal of insulation layer of a liquid membrane.It represents an ideal element of isolation.

It is mainly used for large, precast and steel drain channels of domestic production. Due to the two-stage parts in horizontal and vertical planes, is provided an increase of the period during which the gutter is not clogged. When used in conjunction with high quality and suitable insulating material, it provides significant cost savings. Bolts and nuts used for installation of fitting blocks of drain funnel are made of stainless steel.

Insulating flanges are made according to the parameters of the roof type and / or customer requirements, as well as in full compliance with the requirements for installation of the heated drain funnel made of stainless steel and produced by our company. During the manufacture of the preheating element was used covering material, composition of which includes silicon of 1st class (German manufacture). The heating element is powered by a power supply of 230 V, so that it can be easily integrated into existing building automation system.

Usually it is used for prefabricated drain channels of domestic production. As the drain funnel is made of plastic, there is a wide range of technology solutions, depending on the internal dimensions of the gutter. When used in conjunction with high quality and suitable insulating material, it provides significant cost savings. Lengthening nuts, bolts and the cover, used during installation of details, are made of stainless steel; thereby drain funnel requires minimal maintenance.

Designing of siphon drainage system for stormwater runoff is carried out through the implementation of complex calculations. And in view of the fact that the design of each project individually takes a lot of time and the probability of mistakes in the calculations is very large, these calculations cannot be performed manually. Different computer programs are used to complete this set of works on system designing.

Additional details of Drain Plus+ All additional components used in the system Drain Plus + for stormwater runoffs are produced by the know-how technologies, acquired from international companies, in full compliance with the standards. These products can be divided into groups: Y-shaped bends, angle pipes, reducing elbows and clutch pipes for electrofusion welding.
