Message fromthe Principal

I take this opportunity with immense pleasure to present before you our 2011 - 2012 college

magazine in which our students and staff members are showcasing their literary talents and

writing skills through this springboard and proving to themselves about their hitherto

untapped talent.

“Have an aim in life - Dream it. Bring the thoughts into action, and the sky will be the limit.”

True. Education indeed paves the path for the children to learn new things in a correct

manner. It helps them broaden their perspectives and enrich their knowledge to face the

globally competitive era.

But few hidden talents of students and staff members which are dominated by the daily

professional work load should be encouraged for an overall personality development

which will be surely enlightened in the form of this college magazine.

I congratulate the students and staff for the tremendous response and for bringing this

dream of college magazine in reality.

Wishing you success always ..........

Message fromThe Convenor

I am proud to present to you the 2012 debut edition of our College Magazine; 'Tarang- The vibrant coloursof SDCH'. In the past 12 months, although having published the Undergraduate Information Brochure, the Annual Report and the Journal of Dental & Allied Sciences, we still felt that something was missing. These were voluminous official documents or scientific publications, but somehow, they were lackingthat creative literary spark. 'Tarang' aims to fill that void in our list of publications.'Tarang' implies the literary amalgamation of the numerous vibrant colours of SDCH. We have over 500students and over 100 staff, all from diverse cultural and geographic backgrounds. There is thus amassive pool of untapped and unrealized literary and artistic talent in our college. This magazine serves asa much needed platform for the SDCH family to express their hitherto undiscovered flair. 'Tarang' wasconceptualized, designed and published in merely 25 days, and yet, the response from students and staffwas phenomenal, far exceeding our expectations. Publishing this magazine within this deadline was adaunting task, made possible only by back-breaking work, team-spirit and exemplary guidance by ourmentors.First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude towards Prof. M.N. Navale (Founder-President, STES) and Dr. Sunanda Navale (Founder-Secretary, STES) for their constant support andencouragement.I would like to sincerely thank our Principal, Dr. Shailesh Lele for guiding our team at every step andpaving the way through numerous obstacles.I would like to thank all the students, faculty members and the Administrative staff for the whole-heartedco-operation extended to us. I thank the team of Neha Creations, for their technical expertise andpublishing this magazine well ahead of the deadline. I thank all the sponsors for their support and lookforward to such collaboration in the future.I would like to congratulate my Magazine Committee members, who were rock-solid in theircommitment and they never lost sight of the goal. I am truly lucky to have such talented and focussedpeople in my team and I am sure we will do better and better work every time.I would like to thank Dr. Srinidhi for suggesting an appropriate title for the magazine & also Mr. AkshayRathod (Intern) for the tag line 'The Vibrant Colours of SDCH'.Last but not the least, I request you to kindly pardon a few errors that may have been inadvertently leftbehind. I also urge you to wholeheartedly contribute to the next edition of Tarang. I sincerely hope to seeyou next year as anAuthor, Poet or anArtist!

For that little girl in me who believes inlove, pain and suffering!

It is never good to be alone. It was never. But this is how I have been living inGermany for the past few years. Therewould have never been a better place thanGermany to be alone, though I am neveralone. There is always someone with me inmy journey of life…

I lived in a heaven-Kashmir. Kashmir wasmy world till I was sixteen. This was myplace and I always wanted to be here. But asthey say destiny has something else writtenfor you.

I was brought up in Srinagar in Nawabdad's family. I was the first child in thefamily and therefore the most pampered one.Nawab dad had given me everything that Ineeded and mostly what I wanted. Anythingthat I wished was mine. Nawab dad wasalways there for me by my side whenever Ineeded him. I had other siblings as well but Iwas special-really special. Moreover Nawabdad was a politician here. So it was my rule. Ilived a princess' life. Kashmir was myheaven, Nawab dad was my world until…..

…In Germany, it is cold. I live here withLilette as a tenement. She owns a smallflower shop on "UNTEN DEN LINDEN'street. I used to visit her place with Fyodor. But later I shifted to her place. Fyodor was adancer. He held dance workshops all overthe world. Thousands of people joined them

and I was one of those thousands ofpeople…

… Until Fyodor came, I used to go to Alimarket to attend his workshops. I had alwaysloved dancing. I loved Fyodor's company. He made me more alive. Fyodor was a writeras well .his stories kept me glued to him. After the dance sessions I used to sit withhim for hours listening to his stories. Theytook to me to a new world-a world ofdreams. I never understood how time passedin Kashmir…

…Time doesn't pass easily in Germany. Inspite of staying here for so many years, thisplace still seems new. The people here arestill strangers for me. I sit here by thelakeside in the evening watching smallchildren playing, the sunset, birds returningto their nests. Time just doesn't seem to pass.Lilette and I make candles at night. Liletteloves making them. She gifts them to hercustomers-a token of her love. Life here issimple but not easy…

…it was time for Fyodor to leave and Ihad realized that I had loved him. But I hadno courage to go up to him and tell him about

it. I had loved him more than Kashmir, morethan Nawab dad. Now nothing reallymattered to me more than Fyodor. Nawabdad was happy for me but he was scared. Butwhy???

…Fyodor still visits Lilette with Maria-his love, his life, his wife. All of us then sittogether talking about Germany, life inGermany, about people here, their life, painand suffering. We sit together for hourstalking nothing but dreaming-dreamingabout an ideal world-a world of fantasies…

…because I knew Fyodor didn't love me.He had loved someone else. I had no ideaabout it. The only thing that was on my mindwas Fyodor and to be with him for the rest ofmy life. Fyodor had to leave and I wanted toleave too. That meant saying goodbye toNawab dad. It was difficult saying goodbyeto him but I had to do it. This was probablymy last goodbye to Nawab dad. Hence at thetime of departure, he gifted me a 'Shikara'-atoy boat wi th 'MY BEAUTIFULTEHZEEB' written on it. And I finally saidgoodbye!

Germany was not my place. But Imanaged. I survived. I never wanted to stayalone, but I did. I never wanted to leaveFyodor, I had to. Because he wanted to bewith Maria but that didn't stop me fromloving him.

I existed. I had to-for myself, for Nawabdad, for Fyodor, for sweet little Lilette andfor that Shikara which still floats in Lilette'sfish pond!

Memories

As the morning rays peeped through her

window, Aishwarya's alarm clock rang.It

was regular Monday morning in the

wonderful city 'Sangli' where Aishwarya

lived with her small family. She was very

lively and lovely girl. She was one who

brought smile to every face of her family in

morning. She was a 13 year old girl

studying in std.7 .Sangli was her city of

dreams! This place had given her

happiness that she had in her life. Her

bestest friends, her deepest memories, her

passion for dance, all resided in here.

In her school she was friendly with

everyone. She had no hard feelings for any

of her classmate. All of them found her

supporting as well as loving. This day was

full of anxiety for her as well as her friends

as their scholarship result was going to be

announced. With all nervousness and

tension she saw her result put up on the

notice-board and to her surprise she had

stood 3 in school. Seeing this she felt as if

she was on top of the world. All her friends

and teachers were happy for her. In the

afternoon after school she went home. As

soon as she entered home she hugged her

mother tightly and told her about the

result. Aishwarya's mother was very

happy for her.

In the evening she had her Kathak class.

She was a Kathak dancer since she was in

std.1 .Dance was her love, her passion, her

life! Her Guruji loved her madness and

passion for dance. She used to enjoy

dancing on the beats and of her

Guruji. Her friends found it a treat to see

her and Guruji's Guruji always

used to say to her “Don't ever leave

dancing, because dance is your identity”.

Every single word of Guruji meant a lot to

her. Along with Guruji she had

participated in various concerts arranged

in her city.

After dancing she went home. Dinner

was the only time when the entire family

was together. That day she had a big

surprise for her dad but her dad also had

something to tell her. After sitting on the

dinning table she gave her dad the good

news. Her dad was very happy because he

knew that she taken many efforts for this

exam. And then

in a very low

voice dad said to

her “Didi, I am

transferred to

Pune and also

expected to join

the office in 2

days”. She was

this. There were mixed feelings in her

heart. She had to pack all her stuff and shift

to a new city but it was not about shifting,

it was her feelings and emotions attached

to it. She could not even think her life

without her friends, teachers and Guruji.

But she had to leave them as she had no

option.

The last day of her school was the most

memorable day of her life. With a heavy

heart she stepped out of her school. Her

friends had tears in their eyes.

She than went to Guruji's place. Guruji

saw her and was freezed for a moment as

he had no words to express his sorrow. He

then gave her a warm hug and said “You

are and will be my favourite student. It

doesn't matter where we live, I will always

be there for you”. Hearing this tears started

rolling down Aishwarya's eyes. She

touched Guruji's feet and said goodbye!

The new city gave her new friends,

teachers and a completely new world.

Now dance had become a distant dream.

Though Aishwarya lived here-her real

world was Sangli, she still hadn't come out

of that place. But the only thing that was

left now was MEMORIES!!!!!!

Every Tom Dick & Harry having a straightline of capability and knowledge can becomea doctor but becoming a good doctor is totallya different ball game. We as students have atotal misconception of a good doctor. Wethink that a good doctor is the one who treatsthe most patients and gets the most diagnosisright. In other words we look at numberswhich is true in case of the other professionalslike lawyers, writers, architects & scientist.By saying who won the most trials, wrote themost novels, built the best construction or dida ground breaking research. A good doctorshould firstly be a good human being and heshould not forget that it's a noble and selflessprofession regardless of race, religion &gender.

If we ask the patient about a good doctor hewould reply that someone who would listen tothe patient, who would take interest in him asa person and not as a set of symptoms, talk tohim as a person & not question to look for hisanswers. In other words make the patient feelan empowered patient rather than a merenumber, by understanding his pain by puttinghimself into the patient's shoes. Good doctorsmust be able to put their tools in good use with

A Good Doctora Forgotten Myth or a Vanishing Reality

their ears they must hear all the patient tells, with their eyes they must see all that thepatient shows, with their hands they must feelall that is hidden from eyes. When all thisinformation is assimilated they must use theirmouths to tell the patient their thoughts &body language to re assure, all timeremembering their duties to their patients.

Every doctor takes the 'Hippocrates' oath atthe end of the course. But how many inculcatethose duties in their practice in reality? Inshort to be a good doctor you need to have twopivotal qualities, firstly being a good human& secondly a good doctor always believes inhis/her 'chart' that is their biggest quality letterC; confidence. Be confident in your decisionbut confidence can easily be over shadowedwith over confidence which is kept intact byH; Humility, letter A; Awareness. Be up-to-date with recent advances & flexible inadopting especially since real evidence basedpractice is fluid ever changing &continuously revisible. Specific knowledge &most heaviest word in English languagecomes from letter R 'responsibility'; Beresponsible for your action & letter 'T' has themost beautiful word in English literature'Tenacity' - Be determined and persistent inyour decisions & goals in eye especially tohelp the suffering humanity. Money, fame &wordily are by-products for your service tomankind, so never make them your priority.May Lord almighty give us the strength tobecome good doctors.

We Get What We Pay ForLife

Manasi Yewale ( I BDS )

... The Vibrant Colors of SDCH

Life is like a cafeteria here. We can getanything we want as long as we are willing to paythe price. We can even get success, but we'll neverget it if we wait for someone to bring it to us.Success is defined differently by different people. Most people think of success as making it big inpower and money. While the way most of us lookat success as being happy and contended in ourlives. The secret of success is in two word - '

' and we make right decisions by twowords-' '.

The few factors for which we need to pay inlife are listed below:

The first is to ' ' in oneself. We shouldbelieve in thinking and the values we are going tolive our life by. The second is to ' '. Successis surely right behind your dreams. The third is to' '. Dare to make your dreams become areality, based on your belief and values. Last butmost important is ' '.

We can't change the inevitable. The only thingwe can do is lead life with our positive attitude. Ifirmly believe life is 1% what happens and 99%how we react to it. God has gifted 'life' to us andmade us the masters of it. So aim for the top andsay ' '. We ourselves are instrumentalin building up our lives. Regardless of thehindrances in life we must tackle it with our heart, soul and mind for ' '.

So, friends dream your dreams. Follow yourheart. Focus on your principles of life. Alwaysremember the saying '

'

right

decisions

wrong decisions

believe

dream

dare

attitude

I can, I will

life is not a bed of roses

your life is like a mirror

that reflects back what you have put out in the

world. Make sure you are sending out what

you want back

Life is all about relationships. Family, friends, colleagues, neighbors- the list is endless.Everyday you come across a set of people andbond a relationship with them. From a simple nodto a smile to hours of conversation, the depth ofyour connection may vary, but the string that tiesyou to the other people remains same. The need tohave someone to share with and be a part of theirexperiences. Our whole life revolves around thesefew things.

Enter the net and its totally a different'ballgame'. It's a tool for reaching out to likeminded people across the world and bonding withthem. Its about wiring up people with commonlikes, interests and attitudes into a globalcommunion with the online chats and instantmessengers. It has indeed become the favoredinteractive medium for cyber junkies.

One thing that really annoys me is the waypeople ridicule and frown upon online chatsessions. They look upon it as a thing of contemptand scorn people who swear by virtualrelationships. Hey, what is wrong in making newfriends? Don't we walk across a room full ofpeople and introduce ourselves and start aconversation?Aren't those people strangers for usat that moment of time? Besides, how real are realrelationships? Agreed that there is a lot ofdeception in the online world but the same is thecase in the real world. Its upon us, to come out asclean and create an environment of trust in thevirtual world .Once you pick out the chaff fromthe wheat of networks, channels and nicknames, your virtual friends ingratiate themselves intobecoming your extended family.

In all, cyber turf offers unending possibilitiesfor making new friends and keeping in touch withold ones. It is entirely in our hands to make it aplace of devil or archangel.

Gone are the golden days when entertainmentand media was confined to fairs, radio andnewspapers, magazines respectively. Oftenpeople had to travel to a particular place wheresocial gatherings of such interest were held.Media was available in the form of onlynewspapers. As years passed by the entertainmentand media sector witnessed immense growth anddevelopment.

It has spread its wings wide by making itspresence felt via T.V,internet and the otherl i k e s . M o r ee m p l o y m e n topportunities andtalents have beenencouraged.Awholenew genre has arisena n d t h u s a l s ostimulated people toshowcase their caliber. As this dynamic changehas occurred quite a few grey characteristics havebeen incorporated in both fields. Such greycharacteristics deceptively promise quicker waysto achieve targets.

The strife between various groups belonging

to entertainment/media for maximum publicappreciation and demand has instigatedcompetitive novel methods relating toentertainment and information in both sectors.Having said the above unethical behavior isseldom portrayed as something commendable.Various reality shows script or broadcast eventsthat spew negativity in thoughts. Shows like BIGBOSS were infamous for the abusive fights andpublicity stunts.

Many other reality shows lure the youngergeneration into making easy money andmomentary fame for which compromising withone's morals is a pre-requisite. The media alsocrosses certain limits in a bid to be the first todeliver the news. The most lethal weapon of themedia is that it has the potential of making orbreaking news to garner maximum viewership. The entertainment and media sector have beeninstrumental in influencing the society's outlooktowards itself. Entertainment just for the sake of itshould be discouraged and shouldn't attempt toreplace morals or culture. The media should bemore accountable and should resist clamberingfor 'breaking news'. A more responsible mediacoverage and entertainment field always resultsin the betterment of the society as a whole.

As you grow older, you start becoming moreindependent. You are treated differently. You cannow do the things that you weren't allowed to.And you love it.

But this liberty comes with a price. Ofresponsibility.

I remember the way my studies used to be takenduring my school days. My father had charge ofHistory, Civics, Geography and Social Science. My mother had Science-I, Science -2 and Maths. She was the classical teacher; she would sit rightnext to me on the study table, teaching me propersitting posture, urging me to write in my besthandwriting.

My father was more chilled out. He would giveme time-bound tasks... half an hour for a smalltopic, maybe an hour for a bigger one. At the endof which he would take the book in his hand. I wasfree to stand, sit, lie down, walk around, stand onmy head... he didn't care, as long as I gave thecorrect answers. It was a verbal volley, no boringwriting for him. I would have this green fadedtennis ball in my hand, which we would throw toeach other during this session. Depending on howmany times we could drop it, we could keep score. He would frame his own questions... they wouldgo backwards from the end of the chapter. Andthen suddenly ask me something from the middle! Some of them would be trick questions... But Iused to scrape through somehow... he would justtell me one thing.

"

"

Baba was officially relieved of my study

Rohit, ALWAYS study first, and then play. Neverdo the opposite. You want to see a movie, firststudy, and then go for it. You want to see a cricketmatch, first study, then go ahead and enjoy it.Don't say... Let me watch the match, and then Ipromise I'll study .That never works.

responsibility after I passed my 10 . I remembermy parents calculating from my mark-list, whohad 'won'. Baba's role then was limited to givingme pep talks, bringing me back to reality, curbingmy free time hours, restricting my TV, etc. Whenthere were just a few months to go for my 12exam, he took me aside one day.

Yeah right, I thought. I'm not buying that one. Nottell me to study??? Ha ha. Incredible. But he wastrue to his word. As BDS started, my parentssuddenly took their hands off my studies. Theyclaimed I was old enough now, to know what wasgood for me. I could plan my own study schedule.Suddenly, I could decide when I wanted to startstudying. One month before the exam, one week, one day. I could decide how many hours I wantedto study in a day. I could decide everything. Notthat I didn't get a few glares from them when theysaw me fooling around. But never was a harshword said.

And then strangely, I developed an emotion, orrather, discovered one, that had been alien to meas far as studies were concerned. Pride indoing well in exams. Pride in topping a paper.Pride in telling them I had done well. It was a verysignificant phase of my life. A phase that moldedthe way I approached every exam, every test fromthen on. Ill never forget my father putting on avery matter-of-fact stance and saying:

but be so clearly transparent in his joy. And mymother's face breaking out in a huuuuuuge smileevery time I told her my marks. And was that amoist eye, or a trick of the light? I could never besure. And I never had the courage to ask.

"This is it Rohit. This is the exam that counts. I'monly worried about you for this one. After you joina professional course, I'm never going to tell youto study. You'll manage it fine on your own."

But on record, I want to say that I found it verytough studying on my own. Especially when I hadconstant access to the internet, my mobile phone,TV and a million other distractions. I would ratherbe shouted at, have my phone taken away, internetdisconnected, TV locked up and have my studyschedule decided by my parents. Anytime. Theycould even share the subjects.

And I really missed the tossing the ball to myfather. And for some strange reason, I never couldbring myself to ask him whether he wanted to tossthe ball around again. If he would have agreed, Iwould be more than happy to lose. What the heck,I would have dropped every ball.

Mr. Mallay Panjani was one of the richest menof his time. But along with wealth he invitedselfishness. He never lent his money to the needyand didn't even support his relatives. He boughthimself all the luxuries and thought that wouldbring him happiness. But he was proved wrong ashe was a very lonely person as he couldn't buy truehappiness, which love care and affection can.

Well, this is our current situation. Our life hasbecome a rat race, in which the 'money spinners'will emerge victorious. Money equals to power asthe rich ones are with the power. None can denythe importance of money with power. None candeny the importance ofmoney. It fulfils ourbasic needs. We requiremoney for survival.Right? Wealth hasbecome the mos timportant aspect of ourlife.

Some people saythat they don't run behind money but the thingsthey desire for come by money. Money has madeus blind and humanity is gone for a toss. Thegreed for money leads people to commit heinouscrimes like bribe, corruption and even murders.

We wish we could become aware of the factthat “if wealth is lost, nothing is lost, but ifcharacter is lost everything is lost”. A slumdweller caught my eye. A broad smile on his face, even though he didn't have proper clothes on andhis hut was almost broken. He looked like he'dbeen starving for days. For this man, money wassomething but definitely not everything.

Kyunki... it was sooooooooo BORING...

Kyunki... the plot was always UNREAL!!!

Kyunki... it was TORTURING the viewersfor EIGHT long years...

Kyunki... BAA was almost 300 years old...almost IMMORTAL!!!

Kyunki... TULSI wasn't really the IDEALBAHU...

"WHY... WHY... WHY.. WHY DID THEYSTOPPED AIRING 'KYUNKI SAAS BHIKABHI BAHU THI'???"

These are just a few of the answers of thequestion:

By now, you must have understood that I wasn'ta big fan of the mega sob-soap with almost akilometre long name... Calling it awon't be wrong... I can hear people saying'YES'... Guys ! This show has been on the idiot-box for more than ONE-THIRD of my life (tillnow !!)... Yes, KSBKBT (short for :: KyunkiSaas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi... wow !! more than akilometre...) has been on air since July 2000with 1800-plus episodes been aired... BalajiTelefilms became a mega production housewith the success of this soap opera... I'm glad

SOB-SOAP

that this has ended... Really !!!

November 6, 2008 would be remembered as theIndependence (from the mega Saas-Bahu SobSaga) Day in Indian Idiot-Box Industry (read ::Indian TV Industry)... This serial was the seedof all the Saas-Bahu serials on TV today...

Ekta Kapoor called it her 'CONCEPT' !!!Huh...!

In most of the Indian homes, the War-For-Remote will end now... This show gainedpopularity since it was first aired... and theprotagonist Tulsi and the Gujjus (read ::Gujaratis) from the Virani family becamehousehold names...

Ekta Kapoor believes in re-birth.... This showwas the first where she tried the 'RE-BIRTH'formula.... With the death of Mihir Virani, therewas uproar in Indian households.... The ladiescried for days.... (CRAP !!!) And eventuallyEkta had to change the plot of the serial... Thenshe used this formula in almost every other soapseveral times...

Viewers were bored of this sob-saga... and theTRPs were at all time low... So Star Plus, thechannel which aired it, decided to terminate theairing of KSBKBT !!! Ekta and Balaji Telefilms(the production house) challenged the decisionin Mumbai High Court... The Honorable Courtupheld the channel's decision (Thankfully...!!!)

Adios Tulsi... Adios BAA... Adios ViraniFamily...Adios SOBS n TEARS !!!

Hoping to see something FRESH on the IDIOT-BOX (yes.... you guess it right... TV) !!!

Kyunki... it was sooooo BORING !!!

In 2008, I lost the college debate for the first time

in 9 years. Later that day, I got a text message from

one of my teachers. It simply said: "It is good to

lose sometimes". I have never forgotten that

message till today.

Failure sometimes can be more important than

success. Failure spurs us to improve, to rectify our

shortcomings. Failure is important. Like we learn

from our physical bruises, emotional failure is

also a great teacher. Perhaps, failure is a crucial

rite of passage, a part of growing up. I remember

my numerous failures over the years with

alarming accuracy. I've come to the conclusion

that it is important, perhaps , to have

these failures.

I wonder…do those who have never failed an

examination, know what failure really feels like?

The crushing, imploding feeling within. The

shame and the anger. The grit and the resolve that

follows. And after passing the next time, the sweet

success… almost akin to revenge. I remember

losing friends. Sometimes due to my own

necessary

mistakes, at other times not so. Now I'm a little

more careful, more circumspect.

What then about the delicate matters of the heart?

This is perhaps the most important failure that one

needs to experience in life. Only someone who

has experienced this will understand what I mean.

This failure can change you completely. It brings

you to a fork on the road where you can go in one

of many directions that lie in front of you. It may

give you inner strength. It may make you a hard

cynic. Or make you lose the faith. It may crush

you. Or it may lift you. But all these roads

eventually make you a much better person. You

realize the value of the person you are now with.

Perhaps, now you swallow the angry, harsh

sentence that has come to the tip of your tongue. If

you do, thank your stars. Thank your past.

I have nothing against you if you haven't tasted

failure before. In fact, all the more power to you.

But life isn't all about the wins, the #1s and the

successes.

Failures have their own place in the grand scheme

of things. The faster we accept this, the better!

Yaah !!!You got it right... I'll call him ' '...

This post is dedicated to all such ' ' whoare endowed with the right to choose the leadersof the country... who in turn will decide the fate ofthis country and people like you and me... for allthose who have the right to vote but no time tovote...

On the polling day, ' ' would like to stay inthe comfortable confines of his home, or ratherwatch a movie with friends (not letting the other' ' vote), or even plan an outing if thepolling day falls with the weekend... But the mostironical and the most interesting thing about the' ' is that despite of showing his inthe political system, he'll rather curse the samesystem and the leaders part of it... He might noteven think about his own contribution in themaking of the system...

But the question is Why Pappu can't vote???

Some common reasons cited by the 'Pappus' fornot voting are :

Every vote counts... Every effort counts... Asingle vote can make or break the government, itcan block the right person or pave the way for thewrong person to be there or the other way round...

It was raining outside my chamber. I could

see it through the big glass window before me.

I didn't know what I was doing. I just watched

it happen; it was raining outside my window.

The whole city was covered in a grey blanket

of clouds. It was raining as if it would never

stop. The clouds were as dense as it would

never let sun pierce through it. It was raining

as miserably as it had never been. It was mid

august and it was raining as it rains every year.

But I didn't know why I felt so worried about

this one; I didn't know why I wanted to start

yelling at the sky to stop this. There was

something special about his rain.

My eyes started to get wet. I removed my

spectacles and closed my eyes. I was feeling

strange about myself. A bitter helplessness

surrounded me. NO, I couldn't stand it

anymore. , I felt.

. I opened my eyes. Reports

were lying before me on the desk. Besides it,

there was an open envelope and a folded letter

along with a bank cheque of Rs. 10,000. I had

read the letter before but I couldn't omit its

contents out of my mind though it had got

nothing to do with me. I opened the letter and

started reading it… now perhaps for the 7

time.

“Sir, I am Robert, from Texas. I have read

about your Son in The Times on Monday. My

son also suffered from Kidney failure. But I

couldn't save him as I hadn't got enough

money then. I could understand your

th

condition. I have been there. If my

contribution makes at least a slight difference,

it would be like doing something for my own

"May God be with you" Robert.

A strange smile appeared on my face. I

entered this profession only a year ago, yet I

had witnessed many people die before my

eyes. But I never felt this way. It was

something different. It was not the question of

life and death in this case. It was the question

of the faith of a father in his son. The faith of a

father on the one he wanted his son to be.

It was 3 o'clock in the morning. I was

woken up by an emergency call. It was a case

of complete kidney failure. “But at his age…?

May be autoimmune” I thought. He was just a

boy, may be 18. I checked him and walked

into my chamber with reports. It was clearly a

case needing a transplant. But, who was I to

decide, I was just a junior general surgeon

practicing in a private hospital.

I thought I should inform my seniors, but

it was too late. I closed the door behind and

leaned on my chair for a nap. Few minutes

passed in silence. Then I heard a knock on the

door. I asked whoever it was to come in. A

middle age man appeared at the door. His

hands were trembling, One grasping the door

knob and in the other hand was a black

umbrella which was completely drenched due

to the heavy rain. His eyebrows were tense

and I noticed the perspiration over his

forehead though he himself was half soaked in

the rain.

I looked at him. For a moment everything

was silent. Then he whispered with a most

respectful tone I had ever heard. As if he was

before God and pleading not to destroy

everything he had.

“D… D … Doctor…”

“Y…Y…Yes” I stammered too. I thought

for a moment that handling the relatives is

much more difficult than handling the patient

himself.

“Please sit down.” I pointed towards the

chair.

He walked slowly and placed himself on

the chair before me.

“Doctor…” he whispered again.

I just nodded.

“Doctor…” he paused “what happened to

my son?”

His eyes were red probably due to the

sleepless, tense night. But they were not wet.

They were looking for answers. Those eyes

had fought many battles of life and now were

in a war where they were feared of losing their

own son.

“He is perfectly alright” I lied. It was a part

of my job. “But he needs to get operated”.

“Why?” he asked. That was such a simple

question… but was very difficult to answer.

“Look” I was looking straight in to his

eyes and was trying to be as frank as possible.

“As far I know and basing on what the

reports tell, I think your son may need a

kidney transplant.”

I was still looking in to his eyes. They

were tenser than ever. He started to shiver

slightly.

“This is impossible…” he murmured.

I was not surprised to his reaction.

“IT IS NOT POSSIBLE AT ALL!!!” this

time he shouted. I could no more look into his

eyes. Instead I started looking at a paper

weight over the table. I felt as if the room was

getting warm. I wanted to hear him out but I

dare not hear him anymore.

“My Son…” he was smiling awkwardly.

He heard him rise from his chair. I still

couldn't look at him. I don't know why I felt

like that, but I was afraid.

“My Son……Kidney failure” he was still

laughing. "I can't stand it anymore". But I

could do nothing. I was clenching the paper

weight as firmly as I was about to crush it into

pieces.

“You are kidding right?” he asked. I could

do nothing but just nod.

2012

Sinhgad Dental College & Hospital

“But it cannot be possible doctor”. He

stopped laughing. I looked at him. He was

leaning over my table.

“You should be mistaken.”

“No” I could just manage.

“But damn. It's not possible at all” he

cried. “You know what my son is? He is

genius. Exceptionally genius. Do you know

how many hopes of mine grow in him? He

said it to me, I heard him say; "One day I'll

make you proud, by becoming a 'doctor'.”

His eyes were wet now. I felt like he was

losing this battle. He was losing the battle

which would wipe out the victories of

hundreds of battles which he fought for only

one reason. “His only Son.”

He threw an envelope over my face.

“Look at it” he shouted again. There are none

in the ward except me hearing him. I opened

the envelope. It was the mark sheet of the

entrance test of that year. Boy's name was

Akash. He had got 21 rank in the state. No

doubt, a ticket for admission to a good college

for medicine. I kept on looking at the mark

sheet. Few moments passed.

“He is going to be a doctor, doctor”. There

was a sense of pride in the old man's voice but

at the same time water filled into his eyes.

“And” his voice was low as if he was

pleading me to accept his theory “and how

could he…?” he stopped. I knew he could not

speak any more. We both were silent. There

st

was no sound anywhere except the ticking of

the clock which never . It was around 4

o'clock now. Empty roads with long rows of

lights were visible through the window. They

were as empty as if they were abandoned for

years. They were as empty as if no one will

ever walk over them again. A cool breeze was

flowing past the window. It was the most

silent night I had ever experienced.

“I know now.” His voice was firm “I

know, you people are trying to rob me.”

I looked at him, little confused. It took a

minute for me to understand him.

“You people want money” he continued

“and you found an opportunity as I bought my

son in emergency.”

He was nodding as if he understood

something. Tears stopped coming out of his

eyes. But they were still red.

“I am taking my son” he said “I don't want

any treatment from you people. My son is

himself going to be a doctor. He is determined

to be a doctor. He promised me that he will

become a doctor. Then how can he die? He

cannot even think stuff like that. He is

perfectly alright. I knew it; you people are just

trying to rob us.”

He concluded his theory. I wanted to

argue. I wanted to contradict, but could not

even speak a single word.

“Just understand” I managed “I swear it's

an emergency”.

“IT IS NOT AN EMERGENCY”. He roared.

“IT IS NOTAN EMERGENCY…”

I slapped him. I never know what made me

do that. I slapped him with all my might. He

fell over the table. Motion less. I lifted him

and made him sit on the chair. His eyes were

filled in tears.

“Please save my child” he begged. Tears

were rolling down his cheeks and his eyes

were as red as ever.

“I can understand” I said.

“No, you can't” he said in a very low voice

as if he was talking to himself. “You had never

been a father”.

“But” I said “I had been a son”.

He smiled gently. For a few seconds I felt

that he had forgotten everything. Every

minute thing, every minute problem. He

smiled like a child. A sweet smile it was.

Which I imagined would be coming when he

would go along with his son for dropping him

at medical college or then when he would

boast someone at his office over the lunch

with uttermost sense of pride that his son had

become a doctor.

“Now” he paused “how can I save my

son?”

“He may need kidney transplantation” I

replied. “I think one of yours will do, you

know how much a kidney costs today.”

“And…?” his face has no expressions.

“And you may need a cash amount at least

7-8 lacs for the operation expenditure,

medications and other recall procedures”. I

said it all in one breath.

He smiled again and wiped his tears with a

handkerchief.

“I am a peon in a office” there were no

expression over his face. I was still looking at

him.

“My salary is 6000 rupees” he continued

“out of which 1500 gets deducted for my

provident fund. At last a sum of 4500 reaches

my hand.”

He lifted his head and was looking straight

into my eyes “How the hell do you think I can

I had no answer for that question. I looked

away. It was painful, really painful. He rose

from his chair and walked out of the door. I

wanted to stop him. I wanted to tell him that I

want to help him, but how could I?

I suddenly woke up. Two weeks had

passed after that night. It was still raining

outside. I searched for the water bottle. It was

empty. I came out to fill it back. The water

cooler was at the far end of the corridor.

Leaning to it was an old man, barely

recognizable. His grey hair was haphazard,

his white shirt had become a shade of yellow.

He looked up as I approached.

“Keeping good doctor?” he asked. I

recognized his voice.

“How are you?” I asked.

“I am great” he replied “can't be any

better”.

“Hey, I got a cheque for you” I offered him

the piece of paper.

“That may help” he folded the cheque and

put it in his pocket even without glancing at it.

“I heard you paid that money” I looked at

him.

“None of your business doc” he said.

I couldn't press him more.

“How is my son?” he asked.

“He's doing great” I replied “Will be ready

for the college in no time”

“I know he will” he smiled. “Good night

doctor”. He lay down on the floor in the

corner.

“Good night” I replied and returned back

to my cabin.

It was 6 o'clock in the morning. I came

outside the ward. I looked at the corner where

the old man was still sleeping. I walked

towards him. His eyes were closed. He face

was as pale as a sheet of paper and his body

was motionless.

“No, I am wrong” I thought. “He is

sleeping, he must be sleeping.”

I wanted to wake him up. I wanted to yell

“for the God sake somebody help him”. I

could see him no more. I killed him, I felt. I

knelt before him. Tears were dropping from

my eyes and I feared that they will never stop.

I wanted to shout, I wanted to cry. I wanted to

cry as I used to cry when I was a child. But my

lips couldn't move. Why am I feeling this

pain? Why am I in such agony?”

He knew. I felt. He knew that his son

would never fail. He would never let his son

fail. He knew that operation would be a

success and his son would one day become

what he dreamed him to become even though

at the cost of what he had to pay. I lifted the old

man and walked into a free room and placed

him on the bed. He was at peace. A trace of

smile was still on his face. He did not let the

fate win the battle he was born to fight. No one

decides what the destiny of a being is nor do

the destiny chooses who will reach it, but it's

the one who never takes a step back even

when he sees no way ahead. It's the one who

never turns back when he sees darkness

ahead; they make themselves bait for the fate

and yet remain triumphant. I know what the

old man would have said when he would meet

it- “You got me… but you'll never get what

you came for”.

“You have won your last battle” I

whispered to him. Though I knew he was no

more, I felt he would hear, at least for the one

last time.

“Time is precious, time is money”- we all

agree to this quote and we are so much carried

away with these words that we have earned

almost everything except time. There is a

race, where all are lost. Everyone wants to be

at the top, to be different, to be the best.

Somebody is in the race to earn, the other

fellow is trying to pull him down. We are busy

in this race from sunrise to sunset, from

Monday to Sunday, from January to

December, from birth to death. Where are we

going nobody is aware, where is the finish line

of this race, no one knows but all are active

participants in a race, race of money, race of

glory, race of fame; the race list may not end.

What we have lost is “TIME”. We don't have

time for ourselves. I always ask my students,

what is the most difficult task for them to do in

their day-to-day activities? They get

confused what to answer; my answer to them

would be “TO DO NOTHING-TO BE

BLANK”. We are not able to stop our mind

from thoughts for even a single minute, as we

are busy in the race and mind is the most

important tool to be used to win. We do

everything except being aware of ourselves.

We have lost the joy of enjoying the present,

admiring the small things which can bring us

close to ourselves, make us feel our heartbeat,

our own breath, as we don't have time. Here I

would like to narrate a true incidence, which

is just a sign of our ignorance towards us. A

man sat at a metro station in Washington DC

and started to play the violin; it was a cold

January morning. He played six Bach pieces

for about 45 minutes. During that time, since

it was rush hour, it was calculated that

thousands of people went through the station,

most of them on their way to work.

Three minutes went by and a middle aged

man noticed there was a musician playing. He

slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds

and then hurried up to meet his schedule. A

minute later, the violinist received his first

dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till

and without stopping continued to walk. A

few minutes later, someone leaned against the

wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his

watch and started to walk again. Clearly he

was late for work.

The one who paid the maximum attention was

a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along,

hurried but the kid stopped to look at the

violinist. Finally the mother pushed hard and

the child continued to walk turning his head

all the time. This action was repeated by

several other children.All the parents,

Awareness and Time : A Simple Truth

... The Vibrant Colors of SDCH

without exception, forced them to move on. In

the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6

people stopped and stayed for a while. About

20 gave him money but continued to walk

their normal pace. He collected $32.00 when

he finished playing and silence took over, no

one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was

there any recognition. No one knew this but

the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the best

musicians in the world. He played one of the

most intricate pieces ever written with a violin

worth $3,500,000 dollars. Two days before

this; playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold

out at a theater in Boston and the seats

averaged $100. This is a real story. Joshua

Bell playing incognito in the metro station

was organized by the Washington Post as part

of a social experiment about perception, taste

and priorities of people. The outlines were: in

a commonplace environment at an

inappropriate hour:

One of

the possible conclusions from this experience

could be: If we do not have a moment to stop

and listen to one of the best musicians in the

world playing the best music ever written,

how many other things are we missing?

(Henry David Thoreau), so just drop the race,

be aware of the present moment, the joy and

the bliss being showered by existence. Take

time to appreciate, to thank, to love.

Do we perceive beauty?

Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize

the talent in an unexpected context?

It's not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The

question is, what are we busy about?

THE VIRUS

It was the night of 14 Feb. The whole world

was filled in celebrations. The air was filled with

sweet fragrance. It was a warm night. A perfect

night that one would dream to spend with a

perfect partner. Whole world was celebrating out

there. They were happy. They should be happy.

There was nothing to complain about the night.

Though there were many things one would

complain about, but not tonight. They were

feeling the depths of life. They were touching the

peaks of ecstasy. Though there were many things

to worry about, still they were happy. They didn't

know what would happen to them the following

hour, still they were happy. I didn't know what to

say when I looked at them. They were like

children. Never bother anything. I couldn't

understand how could they live like that.

They have a medicine I never dreamt of making –

they forget many things when they have to be

forgotten.

It was around 11pm now. There were millions

and millions of lights twinkling in front of me.

The sky was filled with stars. I was standing in the

balcony of my flat at the 21 floor of my building.

. I thought.

th

st

Do I pity

them? Or I pity myself that I can't be like them.

I should be happy But nothing in me is

making me feel happy. I am missing something. I

had achieved what I dreamt since 10 years of my

life. It was there in front of me. The thing which

will remove the word “Disease” from the

dictionaries was before me.

Well, about me there's nothing about me that

you will find amusing to hear. I am a middle aged

man, working as a professor of bio-technology. If

you promise me that you won't think I am

... The Vibrant Colors of SDCH

boasting, I am a scientist. As is the case with

many, always neglected; many theories of mine

were rejected, but like many I am still a scientist.

Still dreaming to become the best one. The one

whom the world would address with respect. And

now I will become one. I have become one.

So simple it looks. But it can do more

than one could even imagine. It can make the

human immune system so powerful that no any

microbe can ever think to attack humans.

Amusing isn't it. You would think I am kidding.

Many people thinks so. But now it's the time that

I'll prove them wrong.

Still I am not happy. I don't know why. I may be

getting everything. But still, I am missing

something. I want to laugh, I want to cry but my

face makes no effort to do any of them. Why don't I

feel anything? Why don't I feel the cool breeze

piercing my heart? Why can't I swim to my content

in the fragrance around me? Why can't I hold

even a single happy moment at least for a second,

although all of them are scattered around me.

Now I am someone else's. He knows my past, my

present and knows my future. He knows every

minute thing about me. Still I don't have a clue

who he is. He is not somewhere else.

I turned around. Before me, on the table was

the Virus. My precious virus. In the small green

capsules.

I was tired. I was laying on the arm chair

besides me. I closed my eyes. My dream was

fulfilled. Still I wanted to dream something. I

didn't know what it was, but I felt that some part of

it was missing. My mind was shutting down. It

was drowning in the vast depths of

unconsciousness. Sleep was slowly conquering

me. I was no more me now. I was nothing now.

He was

inside me, somewhere deep inside me.

I woke up. Day light was streaming through

the window. Sun was high in the sky. I looked at

the clock. It was 10 in the morning. I felt as if a

new strength has filled me. I walked into the

bedroom. It was empty. Bed was still warm and

tidy. My wife hadn't return previous night. I

thought who cares. I walked into the kitchen to

make some coffee.

It was on my table. The Virus. I stared it for a

while. i picked up the telephone and rang my

assistant. He was a young dynamic person of

around 26 yrs, exceptionally brilliant and not to

forget handsome.

“James” I spoke.

“Morning professor” he replied “You are late

today.

“Oh, ya…” I forgot even to go to college “I

just wanted to say that…” I paused, but continued

“well, that thing on which we are working is

finished”.

“You mean professor…” he was absolutely

stunned “The virus…”

“Yes my boy” I said “The Virus is ready to get

released. I just want you, immediately to patent

office and do the arrangements and I will be there

in an hour”.

“Ok…Yes…” he said “I am getting

started.”

I glanced at the virus once more. So

simple it looked. Small green capsules. But so

much it meant to me. So much it would mean to

the world. It was my dream. It was the master

piece I was making since 10 years.

An hour passed. I was sitting before a

large empty chair of head of CIA.

“What am I doing here, I wondered.

An hour and half before, my phone rang to tell

me I m needed at the CIA office in Langley. They

also took the pain to tell that a chopper is waiting

on the roof of my own building. But they didn't

answer a simple question of mine “Why?”

“Don't bother standing up professor” Director

said as he entered his own cabin.

“Do you mind a cup of coffee?” He asked.

“No thanks” I replied.

“Well…” I started first because I wanted to

finish it fast.

“I think you might be wondering why we

called you” Director poured himself a cup of

coffee.

“Any one would wonder” I replied.

“I am not a man of many words professor.” He

said “You are here because you made yourself

worthy of it.”

“I did?” I asked “I didn't remember doing

anything like that”

“No, I am sure you don't” this time he was

smiling a little. It was such an uncomfortable

smile. His lips were wide opened, he was showing

his teeth but his smile was not getting reflected in

his eyes. His eyes where cold and fixed at some

destination what I felt, was even past me.

“It's your discovery professor” he was looking

straight at me “your fabulous discovery”

“But” I wondered “how could you know?”

“Great things cannot conceal themselves

professor” he said “We may need it”.

I could understand nothing. He was smiling at me.

“But…what do you think you can do with my

virus?” I asked.

“I think it can be a weapon, professor” he said

“the most powerful weapon made in the history of

mankind.”

I was confused. My mind was pacing through

the words that came from the director.

I thought. My head was aching. My

brain was twisting.

A terrible mistake… I believed in my

pet, my discovery, my virus more than I should. I

only saw the good face of it. Why did I never

thought what may lie on the other side. Or did I

know and never wanted to look at it? At some

level may be I knew that it has a face as ugly as

anything could be. The barbarian face which was

ready to hunt down anything I could see, anything

I could feel. It was the face of the virus which gets

pleasure killing. Life was its fuel, death was its

goal. It now started walking, initiated by the

corrupted minds of its fellow civilized and

respected humans…its fellow beings.

The virus had a property through which it

“Can this

happen?”

“Can my virus do what I

always fear it would?” why am I fooling myself?

Why my conscience is not ready to accept this?

Why am I not ready to believe that I made a

mistake?

could incorporate into the nucleus of the bone

marrow cells which is responsible for the

production of majority of the blood cells. Some

part of which helps in the immune system of the

body. The virus stimulates the immune system so

powerfully and in such intensity that the bone

marrow produces anti toxins and anti bodies that

may destroy any pathogen that may come in its

way. In the battle the virus does get killed but it

dose his job before that.

When the body produces such a powerful

antibodies, some toxins of the virus degenerates

the surface protein of the antibodies which was

responsible for the cell recognition and

differentiation. This protein helps in

differentiating the enemies from friends. Since

this protein is damaged by the virus these immune

cells loses the power of recognizing the body cells

and will start attacking the body cells. Body will

start dying when these cells start attacking vital

organs. The person may die within 2hrs and if

lucky in 24 hrs. max.

Using this virus was as easy as spraying

pesticides. As the virus can even get absorbed

through the respiratory barrier to the blood, it can

act immediately once it has entered into the body.

The death can even painless, as simple as going

into the sleep.

I was back in my car, driving back to my

home. I didn't know what could happen. But I had

to do everything I could. I had to destroy the virus.

But then another thing came into my mind…

But fate does not give second chances.

be

Should I have to? Why do I feel sorry for it though

I know I have no choice? Why do I feel to give it a

second chance…?

I was too late. Too late to save the world. The

world we had built together with hopes, with

dreams and deeds we needed to perform to

expand it more. Too late to save the world we had

built with love. At that moment I knew the dream

which I always wanted to dream but I never could.

I wanted to dream about love, which keeps us

alive. I wanted to dream about love which keeps

us going. Even though the world stopped and

everyone is dead, its love which will keep us

hoping that someone will come to start a new

world, to start a world full of love.

I stepped out of my car. My hands were

trembling. I walked slowly. There were 4 or 5

police cars standing before my home. Few

officers ran to receive me.

“What is going on?” I asked. My voice was

barely visible.

“Nothing special” said the larger one. “We got

a call that a bomb has been planted in your

house.”

“That's bullshit” I said.

“We both know it is” he laughed “Good bye

And still its

love which makes you sacrifice themselves to stop

the same world from crushing. Its love which

makes you think more than just for your yourself,

better than yourself. Its love which teaches to care

for others, to love others because you yourself

can't make the whole world. Save others, take

care of others and love others to make this world a

better place of which we always dreamed for. Its

love which makes you believe that there exists a

day which is better than today and its love which

holds your hand and walks you through to a

beautiful tomorrow.

professor, we have got the virus and your assistant

on our side. We may not need you now.”

I knew what he meant. But something in me

was holding me tight. It was a beautiful day. The

sky was clear and the sun was bright. The air was

warm and full with the fragrance of the flowers

around. There was no sign of the chill from the

winter. I

thought. I still wondered

where my wife was. I missed her. May be for the

first time in last 10 yrs. I missed her warm hug. I

missed her soft kiss. I missed her silky hair

brushing my face. I missed her complaints over

the dining table. I missed her caressing hand in my

hair trying to put me to sleep. For the all the time

she was with me, I never thought that I would miss

her this much. She did love me… yes she did.

I smiled at the officer for

his foolishness.

And he walked away. All of them dispersed

except one. And the same one who first talked to

me came out again and yelled to his junior.

“Michael, I think you forgot something…” he

looked at his junior. He was a young fellow of

merely 25 or 28 may be. “I remember you asked

for a promotion.”

Michael walked towards me. His eyes were

focused on me. He stopped 10 feet away and drew

his gun. He aimed it at me. My hands stopped

trembling. My breathing became slow and my

heart became steady. Not even a bit of slightest

fear was in my eyes. I felt nothing, even though

my death was standing before me.

The weather had completely changed

Well it was about time.

Had

I ever had time to realize what she is? How much

does she worth to me?

How the hell could you kill a man

who had already died 10yrs ago?

Kartik Pati (Intern)

“Anything to say professor?” he asked.

“Nothing my boy” I replied “kill me. I don't

know whether it would be painful. Kill me fast

enough before I know it. I don't want to remember

the people I love. I don't want to be afraid.”

“I pity you professor” he said. His eyes were

wet “but I am sorry”.

“No my child. I feel sorry for you. I am happy

that I am going to die. Death will rescue me from

the pain that will you people are going to endure

in the future. I am glad that I am dying to restore

love, peace and to save the world we built for you,

for your sons and for their sons. And I am sorry

that I failed to protect it for you. I am sorry that we

could not protect your inheritance. God bless

you”.

And he fired. His hands were trembling. His

aim was bad. The bullet hit my chest. Pierced it

and went out. He fired again. This one went

through my neck. I couldn't breathe. I was

choking. The blood was running into my trachea.

But still it was not painful. The larger one of the

officers came out of the car and took the gun from

Michael.

“You still need some practice” he said

He walked towards me. I could still see him.

His eyes were narrow. They had no feelings. He

put the gun over my skull and fired. I felt nothing.

A cold breeze passed over me and took away

something with it. I laid still, couldn't

move…Dead.

We-The Makers

Akshay Rathod ( Intern )

All of us are artists. We are the makers. Without

wasting much space and time i would like to put

forth some of our marvelous works. Great

men/women composed songs and we altered the

lyrics. We have a song for each situation and if

not, well, each one of us is capable of modifying

the existing ones to suit our interests. Take a look.

You were so vibrant,I was way simpler than you.

They thought you were a brat,And I was too innocent they knew.

Still I loved you so much,Thought you loved me too…

You were too blunt when you spoke,And I was a pleasure to talk to.

All that you ate was bland,And I'd always spice up the food.

Still I loved you so much,Thought you loved me too…

Books were your foes,I stuck to them like glue.

You were such a mess,I'd always clean up the room for you.

That's coz I loved you so much,Thought you loved me too…

You watched action,Love-stories was where I found you.

Hip hop was your favorite,And I would just like blue.Still I loved you so much,

Thought you loved me too…

So different, yet just like me,Every difference of yours made me fall for you.

Your smile would make my day,Endlessly for you my love grew.

Loved you so much,Though you didn't love me,

The way I did,The way I'd always do…

I woke up this morning,And checked my phone.

The black little box lied next to me,And a red light on it shone.

It's your birthday today,The most special day I ever knew. But tears were dry on my face,

I realized endlessly last night they flew.

Never ending painful nights I'd spent,Finding no reason why you'd left me.

Loving you was only what I did,Unconditionally… Irrevocably…

You loved me too,and we were happy together. But one day you just left me,

Telling me why, never did bother.

I look at the empty street,Recalling the beautiful days.

When I was lucky to have you,Before we part our ways.

I cut your bithday cake,Like every year we'd do.But now its just me here,

All alone drenched in gloom.

It does not taste sweet now,The way it did from your hand.

And here I get lost in thought again,Thinking why is here where we hand.

And tears join in this little party,Where its just me and darkness.

Trying to find my dear love somewhere,In the world of memories and blissfulness…

Tears rolled down her eyes as she stood by the

gate,

Wishing that it had never been too late..

It was no use regretting, she had lost it all,

She was broken now by the dreadful fall!

She wondered and worried throughout the day,

What was to come to her dismay?

But now she knew there is no wrong or right,

As she battles herself, she loses every fight!

That night she hung to the ceiling with a rope,

She had lost her last battle of hope..

She had wounds that now never would heal,

She tried her best but just couldn't deal!

Choking on the tears that covered her face,

Her breaths were now slowing down their pace..

As her last moments crept, she changed her mind,

But a way out of this darkness she couldn't find!

Praying to God that in peace rest her soul,

Under her pillow I found a torn, old scroll.

"When your luck is hard, never bring tears in

your eyes,

because only after a deep dark night comes the

glorious sunrise!"

To my anxiety and trial...........

You see, I can't quite make it,

Through a day just on my own,

I need your love to guide me,

So I will never feel alone.

I want to ask you to please keep,

My family, my college and everyone around

safe and sound,

Come and fill their lives with confidence,

For whatever fate they are BOUND!!!!!!!!!

GIVE ME FAITH DEAR GOD,

Each hour throughout the day,

And not worry over things,

That I can't change in any way….

A tiresome day is what it was,To hear the teacher scream,

And here I fall on my bed at last,To have a peaceful dream.

But all I find here,All mute and silent ,

The huge pink and purple diagrams,And the bones getting violent.

The poor and meek cadavers,That are motionless everyday,Forcing me to identify vessels,

And nerves that block their way.

The heart, all large,Asks how it beats all the time,“Explain what is cardiac rate”,

A question that doesn't leave its mind.

Chemicals run after me,Bothering me with their structure,

De-novo, HMP, Salvage,Oh god! My brain would rupture!!!

All the teeth line up in a queue,With wax blocks in their hands,

Le-Cron and Mc-Intosh my weapons now,Would make me win my land.

The awful smell of the monomer,Makes me run from my seat,

And trimming the record base is all I do,A shrill voice from nowhere shouts, 'Repeat!'

Oh God! End this dreadful dream,I can't take this anymore, my mate,

And there rings my alarm,The dream ends here,

And again for college I am late!

The Dream

Ankita Chitnis ( I BDS )

Loneliness fills up my heart as I look up at thesky,

I keep staring as the time flies by..Blocked is my heart and so are my ways,Tears flood up as I think of “those days”!

The endless talks and those coffee mugs,The eye contacts, the smiles and the innocent

hugs..

Your soothing voice I can forget never,I'll cherish those memories forever and ever!

Strangers in the crowd though best friends byheart,

I know these distances will never take us apart..Fake feelings on face but true ones in your eyes,Dissolved in this darkness my broken heart cries!

'Coz you left me now and would never be back,My heart is bleeding through the deep crack..

All promises are broken and here I stand alone,Your li'l princess who lost her throne!

Though your hair have turned grey,And your eyes are wrinkled and weak,

Your young hearts have never given away,Your silence, thousand words it speaks.

All ups and downs in life,No failure, no success and no strife,Could make our bond any weaker.

I go home back every day,From college,

after a hectic day,Feeling exhausted like a little bug,

You greet me with your warmest hug.

Thanks for being there for me,You were my friend when I was lonely,

You laughed, played and cried along.I know, with you by my side I will never go

wrong.

Thanks for the time you have stood by meHow ever weak you might have been,

When I thought,I was lost in the world so crowded,

You remind me,I am the pet you have moulded.

I know, we won't be always togetherBut the bond we share will be forever!

Friendship is a garden of,

Flowers, fine and rare,

It cannot reach perfection,

Except through love and care;

Then, new and lovely blossoms with

Each new day appear;

For friendship is like a garden, grows,

In beauty year by year.

There's happiness in little things,

There's joy in passing pleasure,

But friendships are, from year to year,

The best of all life's treasure.

FRIENDSHIP

Future is like a highway at night,

Darkness back and forth,

None know where to go,

Leaving many out of sorts.

Many wish to ride the wind

Though lonely feelings fill the mind

Picking precious lessons on the way,

Leaving nostalgic memories behind.

Many a traveller meets on the way,

Some lead you to your goal, some away,

Remember, a critic or a friend

Will serve you well at the end.

FUTURE

Nature is a factor containing lives,

It consists of seas, rivers and also beehives.

It is the most pleasant sight.

When close to all it seems to be right.

Nature is a symbol of colour, green

It sets us free from what might have been.

Nature and happiness are most alike

It is something without which we cannot survive.

If God comes back just for a day or two, Andsuddenly visits you,

I wonder what will you do?

Would you not hasten to set right the thingsbefore let him in?

And present a pleasant appearance of Home fromwithin.

Would you not hide all those magazines youbring home to read,

And instead place the holy books to make himplease.

Would you still keep watching the same TVprograms day and night,

Would you dance to the tune of music on radiowithout fear or fright.

Would you like to take God where his followersdwell,

To show their dirty environment which is nothingless than hell.

Seeing their way of living God will sweetly cryout,

”This is not my Mankind that has been broughtout”.

From among the mind kind to enjoying Good andforbid evil,

To obey and follow me and shun from devil.

It would be interesting to know what you woulddo,

If God comes to you for a day or two...

IF IT SO HAPPENS...

'The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world'

The sweetest word 'maa' is the first word a baby

learns to speak. It is rightly said that 'God can't be

present everywhere so he made mother. No one in the

world can experience the pain a “maa” undergoes

when she delivers her baby. And this pain becomes

negligible in front of the happiness when she sees her

baby. She stands by you when the whole world is

against you. She is the one who moulds your life like

a potter moulds his pot. She is like a rainbow who

adds colours to your life.

Here is a small poem dedicated to my mother…

Mother oh mother…

Do all the good you can,

By all the means you can,

At all the times you can,

In all the ways you can,

Love your beloved mother,

As much as you can!

I will win the race,That I will never lose hope,

I will win the race,And prove the opponents wrong.

I will win the race,Though I have lost it once,And will prove many people wrong……

I will win the race,And will become a DOCTOR,

Friendship

The sun rose,Over the visible thatched roof of the hut.

And woke up the boy inside,Whose company he always loved!

The boy of six or seven,Dreaming of a better tomorrow,

Got ready to go to work,Heaving a sigh of sorrow.

He rode, to the streets,Of the still asleep city.

Delivering papers here and there,Until the sun above him,

told him to rest.

He toiled tirelessly in the scorching heatThrough the fields of gold and green

But he didn't mind,The sun gave him company!

On the beach stood the boy,Now selling peanuts

And looked up at the sun,Thanking him for being there always...

The sun smiled,And he too, smiled in return,

As if to say,"Thank you for teaching me,

the value of friendship."

The boy woke up,To find nobody in the room.

The sudden silence frightened him.Where had everyone gone?

He couldn't even hear,The sound of his mother's morning prayers.

He walked out of the door,Clutching his blanket in his hands.

The door to the kitchen stood open,And hushed noises were pouring out...

The boy entered,Entered to see a woman draped in white

His mother.

A stream of tears, trickled down his cheeks,

But he was brave,He ignored it all

And walked straight to his father's studyAnd stole a penny.

His father, when he found out, twisted his ears and said.

"Don't you understand what is going on in thehouse?

How did you even dare?"

The child smiled wearily,"I was buying a balloon to send it up in the

clouds for mom."

The mice scurry around,The great vines twine about,But the chateau remains...

An unsung hero of an unsung war.

Occasionally creaks open the door,To an array of debris,

But the chateau remains...An unsung hero of an unsung war.

They do reveal, the cracks in the wall,The earned experience, not known to all,

But the chateau remains...An unsung hero of an unsung war.

A cold shiver approaches,And with it, the shiver of the glass panes,

But the chateau remains...An unsung hero of an unsung war.

Nobody knows about the chateau,No one really cares,

But the chateau remains...It is a hero after all...

An unsung hero of an unsung war.

I try to search for something,But the dark of night blinded me.

What I look for, I don't know,I feel thirsty, I feel deprived,

And my world, my mother has abandoned me atthis dreaded moment!!

I stumble as I try to stand,I feel pain, the worst of it,

I want to scream,But fear stops me.

What I fear, I don't know.I feel a pinch here; I feel a blow there,

And my world has abandoned me at this dreadedmoment!!

I find no shoulder to cry,I see no shadow across the room,

I feel no hand on my head,I hear no words of comfort. What I need, I don't know.I feel empty, I feel weak,

And my world has abandoned me at this dreadedmoment!!

I want to escape,I try to push away the dark,I struggle to reach the light,But my will has given up.

What life wants, I don't know.I feel isolated, I feel violated,

Ever since I was a child, quite young,I was treated by a Doctor with sweet pills & an even sweeter tongue.Fascinated, I was by the aura and personality of that Doctor, what a lovely man!Except for my dearparents, He was the only one who said, “I will help you all I can.”

Since then I had decided, A Doctor I will be...

School was fun and for Science I always had a keen interest,Academics were my forte and I scored well in every test.Said the Teacher to my mother, “your daughter has a future very bright...Tedious higher education she shall grace, with the target she has in sight.”To myself I smiled and said, A Doctor I can be...

Crucial is the choice to be made for a career,H.S.C., C.E.T., P.C.B. plenty are the barriers, Vast were the options, but my intentions were clear,Life, mankind & humanity, to me, were very dear. Once again I decided firmly, A Doctor I want to be...

In a prestigious Dental College, I managed to secure admission,From then on, like a soldier, started my tough rigorous mission.Books heavier than small babies & more than the number of bones in the body,Exams, Vivas, tests every month, gruelling work hours, with so much to memorize & study. For the first time I felt, A Doctor could I be?

Expenses were high, fees, books, instruments and everything costs a lot,But just about my dream, my ambition I gave a thought. Then about the taxing days and skipped meals I did not bother,To put in my best and withstand the bloody mess, my courage and energy, somehow I did gather.Said I to myself, reassuringly, A Doctor I shall be…

Kidney rackets, molestation, over charging, negligence and many such accusations flew,The Noble profession was maligned and noble were left only a few.At the peak of youth, my friends in other fields were earning in lakhs,And I, a negative contributor to the family income, was burdened with a heavy heart and back.Sadly, but surely, a doubt crept in my mind, A Doctor should I be?

But then I think about a child's sweet innocent smile & an old man's satisfied face.Ah! The sheer pleasure of treating a disease and the origin of a problem finally trace.Defiant as a warrior you stand, with your arsenal equipped.Cure for you is the only Victory, your intentions in purity should be dipped.Being a Doctor is all about spiritual satisfaction, not materialistic gains.Sure, it is a tough life, but who said there is success without pains. Thus, I swore A Doctor I will be...!!!

A Doctor I Will Be…

It isn't easy to tell someone you love,It isn't easy to tell her that you care.

Its a feeling that's very special, but you have nobody to share.

Its when you feel on top of the world, and you feel good when you see her smile.

You feel like smiling with her,and be with her all the while.

You love talking to her,and the time flies by.

You start loving the nature, the flowers, the petals, the birds in the sky.

You have that lovely feeling in ur heart, but from others you try to hide.

And you search for your dearest friends,to whom your feelings you can confide.

But they all tell you the same,"Go tell her, before its too late..."

But due to fear of losing her you don't,and you leave it on the fate.

You tried a lot to tell her,but could never confess.

And then there are friends who areeager to tell her and make it a mess.

But you prevent them from doing so,You say "Not you, but I love her...

And I'm gonna tell her sooner or later...I promise, I won't remain a silent lover forever..."

Confessions of a Silent Lover

I think of you, I talk of you,I see you in my dream. You're just so beautiful,I feel a need to scream.

I smell the scent of lovelinessevery time you're near.

I feel that all the angels singwhen its just your voice I hear.

Struck by some magic spell, there's just no other way.

That you are all I think I needto make it through each day.

When truth is pointed out to me,my face it seems does blush. But honestly I can't deny,on you I've got a crush.

Destiny

How do I say what you mean to me,You mean to me as a pearl means to the sea,

As the earth means to the sky,As a flower is to a butterfly.

As life means to a manwho is just about to die.

What a desert feels when it rains,What a soothing support, when it pains.

Tell me how do I say what you mean to me,You're my mind, my soul, my heart.

A dream so beautiful,An experience so wonderful.

A passion that ignites,A warmth that invites.

Sometimes a smile so best,Sometimes a tear so honest.

In the morning when I wake up,And I open up my eyes,

I feel an aching in my heart,That's when I realize.

How much I really miss you,And long to have you near,

My heart is filled with sadness,And my eyes are filled with tears.

At different times throughout the day,I find I'm missing you,

And I wonder if, perhaps a bit,Maybe you miss me too.

I miss you in the shower,When I'm in there all alone,

And when I want to hear your voice,And call you on the phone.

When I check my inbox,And I find there's nothing there,

I can't help it that I worry,And I put you in my prayers.

I think by now it's safe to say,That I miss you very much,

And my heart will never be the same,Since it suffered the cupid's touch.

I pretend that I'm fine,With us being "just friends".But really I want to tell you,

I don't want this to be how it ends.

I pretend that I don't,Dream of you at night.

But really you're the only one,That can make my wrongs right.

When the world seems to walk out on you,And you feel scared.

When you're feeling low, you're feeling blue,Turn around, and I'll be right there.

Even though there were others to make youstrong,

You never noticed I was there all along. And now that they've left you alone,

And you are all on your own.

I wanted you to know...Whenever you get scared,

Turn around, I'll always be there.

When you'll win yourself back,And shine like the brightest star.

When the others will come back to you,You will change who you are.

I will still adore you and will always love,Will wait till you're left again.

Because then you'll be all alone,And I'll be your only true friend.

I just wanted you to know...Whenever you get scared,

Turn around, I'll always be there.

I'll Always Be ThereThe first drop of rain is falling on my face,

But it is not pure.I'm taking the first snowflake on my tongue,

But it's not pure.I have a day of fun & frolic on the beach,

But it's not pure.I am swimming in the ocean,

But it's not pure.I am drinking the water of a small brook,

But it's not pure.I am breathing the air on a warm morning,

But it's not pure.I am rolling in the soil of a hillock,

But it's not pure.I am catching the cloud on the peak of the

mountain, But it's not pure.

I am basking in the sunbeam,But it's not pure.

I am walking, someone wishes me hello,But it's not pure.

I am boarding a bus, an acquaintance smiles,But it's not pure.

I pretend to be peacefully deep asleep,But it's not pure.

I am trying to study,But it's not pure.

I am being imparted knowledge,But it's not pure.I am living life,But it's not pure.

For we are always whining,Replacing living, with existing & surviving.

In this materialistic world, mad world,Except for His blessings & parent's love,

Nothing's left pure.

Life…It takes you up in its arms, makes you feel like a Prince,

But then in these very arms it squeezes you sohard...it makes you wince,

It's all a cycle, a chain, as round as a ring,Everyone wants to be on top, everyone wants to be

a king,

The problem starts when they all start trying torule,

They try to control and ride humans, when theycan't even control a mule.

The essence of life and its worth, its meaning tothem just evades,

They don't realize the futility and as time passes itall fades.

In these days everything is just so damn pseudo,You don't even get affected even though death may

come and go.

Then in those last few moments just as your eyes areabout to close,

It strikes, you just realize it all depends on what youchose…

How, when and where you hurt,To others were you well-behaved, rude or curt,

For as you sow so shall you reap,Your deeds, good or bad, are accounted for

accumulated in a heap.

So tread very carefully lest you step on someone'stoes,

Try to make more of friends and less of foes,Basically it's a simple equation of take and give,

And as for those who hurt you…just try andforgive,

Remember this…Live And Let Live….

LIFE…

Love is a game just meant to be played.Love is a phrase just overly clichéd.

It's dominated by cheaters, players, and rule-breakers.

Where three words often said are lies spoken byfakers.

Love is an emotion and hormones are the cause.Love is perfection that brings out your flaws.Young ones are swayed into believing that it's

real.Soon conscious of mistakes, next fear is what you

feel.

Love is a wish desired by so many loners.Love is a sight shown off by its owners.

It's a sad pathetic world when love is onlywanted,

For the sake of having it and for it to be flaunted.

Love is a drug, Addictive and strong.Love is a toy, and you are strung along.

The endings are painful, yet again you will start,to end with more lies and tears, and another

cruelly broken heart.

Love is a reason to be treated like dirt.Love is an excuse, an excuse to get hurt.

Down I stared, Next to my feetSaw a mirror, A broken piece

Held and stared, Into that pieceThought my heart, You came back to me

Your Love - His Blood, Which keeps him awakeAs memories guard it, From disgrace

Life's a song to Me...Ain't it true?Yes... it is...

Because its dedicated to You!

Happiness came with you, A packaged dealHaving you Felt...

Happiness ....was finallyPursued by me…

I have No Heart some people sayAgreed ! It's TrueSince I know...Mine's with You

You're the One to guide me through...Through the paths that i choose

You show me How....My Flaws - My Scars.....

Yes My Love,You're the Mirror of My Heart...

Mirror of My Heart

I can't begin to describethe feelings I have for You,

when You look into my eyes, what it makes me do...

My lips begin to tremble,My heart begins to ache.

My knees go weak and shaking,My body begins to quake...

I've never really expressed myself,My feelings I've kept in a jar.

But now, with You, I feel the needto tell You what they are...

I feel Your presence when You're near,And for Your touch my body cries.

But when You smile and walk away,My heart and soul just dies...

You're my fantasy. In the darkness of night,

I gaze at Youand hold You tight...

I open my eyes and look for Youat the breaking of the dawn.

But You're here only in my dream,And once again You're gone...

If I can't have Your Love just yet,I'll wait till the end of time.To Me, it will be worth itto truly call You mine...

But the others ion my house never seem to relax,They are always worried to the max.

My father to me is very dear,But when he reads the newspaper I feel fear.

Because he talks of something terrible happening,Due to something called terrorism, which is

rising.

Later he would sit and fret,'bout how the ends will be met.

He says there is recession,Which gives him lots of tension.

And talks of unstable governments,And how there is scope for amendments.

He keeps going in out of the house,And doesn't even have time to talk to his spouse.

Which is my mother dear.

My mother has her own problems galore,Most of the times she is bugged and wants no

She complains of about the vegetables withdegrading qualities and rising prices,

But still makes sure I get my daily dose of 8orange slices.

And answers efficiently to every telephone anddoorbell.

Most of which are for my elder brother or sister.

Which reminds me of my elder brother,Who about helping my mom doesn't bother.

He quips with much delight,That yesterday in college he had a good fight.

As for him studies are a gigantic problem,As in engineering college he is you see,

And so best he has to be.

He says he will get a high percent,But his promises keep diminishing till they form

a crescent.

For in life he wants to make it big,And someday own an oilrig.

He idolizes some people I don't know of,With names like Sachin Tendulkar, Bill Gates,

George Bush, and Andrew Flintoff.

Of music he talks a lot,Heavy metal, rap, pop and hard rock.

To me his 'stereo system as he calls it,Blares out something I don't understand a bit.

Neither do my parents and elder sister,Who is perpetually in search of a decent mister.

And never talking of studies,But is always hanging out with her buddies.

She is bogged with homework from her school andtuitions,

And still prefers acting to her intuitions.

She says at present she is occupied tending to hercrushes,

And is most of the time applying make-up with114 different brushes.

As for me going to school,I find very uncool,

But love toys from Funskool.

Infact everyone in our house prefers brandedproducts,

Hindustan Lever, Lakme, Times, HP rule theroost,

And even I prefer Horlicks to Boost.Tension and recession I very much sun.

But still I can't fail to wonder,That what will I do when I grow up and begin to

ponder.

I will think of such things when the proper timecomes,

Till then I leave it to Him to help me throughwhatever happens.

As thanks to Him I have caring and lovingparents,

India, especially Mumbai, is picking up bits andpieces of the traumatic and shocking incident that

took place on 26 November 2008... A dozenterrorists held the city of gold for ransom for 59

hours and here's my take to it…

Take me down to the terrorised citywhere the streets are shitty

take me down to the terrorised citywhere the streets are busy

and life is pity...

thousand cabs parked in the standeverything so well planned

the ugly urchins play their band...

take me down to the terrorised citywhere the guys are rich

thousands of people running to catch their trainthe scene at that station looks insane

thousands of bullets showered upon themthose ugly urchins laugh at their pain

take me down to that terrorised citywhere the glass is clean

and the rooms are pretty...

where the wine is classythe rates are pretty

and they serve in a jiffy...

take me down to the terrorised citywhere the floor now is greasy

and the glass is stained

th

with the blood of the city

take me down to my terrorised citywhere they hold guns and bombs

and burn its beauty

take me down to my terrorised citywhere the weather was sunny

and where people could earn money

so...please...

make my terrorised citya paradise city,

where the grass is greenand the girls are pretty

Take me home (Oh, won't you please take mehome)

Take me down to the paradise cityWhere the grass is greenAnd the girls are pretty

Oh, won't you please take me home

Take me downOh yeah

Beat me downOh, won't you please take me home...

Certainly, we need a 'paradise city' rather than a'terrorised city'...

When it comes to lovin' couples, don't we make the perfect pair-

There's romance, love, and laughterand the friendship that we share.

We care enough to listen,to trust and understand. To build a life together,

side by side and hand in hand.

We both know that we're luckyand we've got a good thing going.

Through ups and downsand give and take,

our love just keeps on growing...'Cause I bring out the best in you,

and you the best in me.

I guess it takes the two of usto make the perfect “WE”.

The Perfect "WE"

Often after a squabble or a quarrelPeople go barking up a tree,

To his adversary said he,Another day about this we shall see…

A difference of opinion I possess,Why take on undue stress,

And another individual harass. The light finally, they shall see…

Their deeds they have done,My deeds are yet to come,

Before we all come undone,The result they shall see.

They scoff at me, if they must,Rather let them believe that I rust,

But in GOD and myself I trust,The outcome, they shall see.

Their game they have played,Their cards they have laid,

A few aces I, too, have in my stockade,The show they shall see…

I need not go around speaking lies,Neither force them to open their eyes,

Though it may take more than a few tries…The fact they shall see…

Qualities I may have a few,But humans they are too…

They fight great, but I am a great fighter,This truth they shall see…

They Shall See…

Friends, oh my friendsPlease wait before you proceed,

Because we made you wait till nowJust to realize a few things in your lives...

One day is enough to live,One day is enough to earn to give

This life is better than the Kings and QueensWho perished along with their deeds

You live everyday, but it'll never be remembered,You walk many miles, but it'll never be measured.

Many things in life just come in and go byAt the end you'll be wondering why!

We made you run not just to find the treasure we'vehidden

But to have a glimpse of the treasure that is withinyou

You had fun together and this will be remembered -Isn't it the treasure you've really craved for?

The treasure is something you can never measure,

Treasure is that thing which can never be hidden.

Treasure is something that you one day realize,That treasure is a thing for which you always lived

for!

Your treasure lies watching the setting sunThough the rays cannot reach the treasure hidden;

Cool breeze is trying to touch it once,But alas! What a fate, it never had a chance

Hence friends, it is time to say goodbye…Wishing you best of luck all the way

Hope you find the treasure imprisoned by a DarkVeil

With wet coldness enclosing all around.

Before I leave, mind you again,The chest of gold coins awaits you on your way out

Without any gate!!!

Following is a poem I wrote for my brother onhis birthday last year.

Tonight, I sit, Peacefully,Thinking about you and me!!!

I think of the times,When we laughed together,And the world felt isolated,

Cause we had our secret jokes,Only between you and me!!!

I take pride of the times,Accompanied by poignant memories,

How we stood by each other,And took the world by surprise,

Cause we shared faith,The trust between you and me!!!

I enjoy the most now,When I remember our petty fights,We yelled like one hated the other,

But always seen together,Cause the world could not see,

The invisible bond between you and me!!!

I chuckle remembering all the misdeeds,Done by one but we shared the blame for,

Cause there is an unwritten rule,An agreement between you and me!!!

Now, I make a wish…You get the best,

And I wish the best for me…Hope together we keep fooling the world,

And remain the same

YOU AND ME!!!

You and Me!!!

Why people get so close,

that it hurts when you to see them go...

Why do people speak so much,

when they just go silent when you want them to

speak the most...

Why do people understand you so much,

that it pricks when they just pretend not to...

Why do people look at you so affectionately,

when in the end they just turn away...

Why do people give you so much attention,

while they just ignore you in the end......

Why do people ask you to be straight,

when they just twist your life while leaving...

Why do people say they are true,

when in the end they say it was all a lie...

Why do people say it was perfect,

when they say it was just a big mistake...

Why do people make you laugh,

when they leave you crying in the end...

Why do people give you happiness,

when they just have to provide you with sorrow

in the end...

Why people care so much,

when they just hurt you in the end...

Why do you people become the light of your life,

when they just leave you with darkness...

Why do people make you feel as if you are in

heaven,

when they make your life a hell...

Why do people give you hope,

when they just turn you down in the end...

Why do people be the way they are,

when they just change in the end...

Why do people be with you,

when they just abandon you in the end...

Why do people love so much,

when they just leave in the end...

Some questions can never be answered...

Sometimes, I do understand.Sometimes, It's difficult to comprehend.

Sometimes I realize,Not every why can be answered.

Sometimes, I wonder why so?

Sometimes, You need a reason to smile.

Sometimes, You shed a tear just like that.

Sometimes, Love can't be explained.

Sometimes, Rage is all you know.

Sometimes, A nest is enough.

Sometimes, Even caves fail to shelter.

Sometimes, No one is yours.

Sometimes, You don't want them.

Sometimes, You want a chance.

Sometimes, You want to miss it.

Sometimes, 'We' is what I desire.

Sometimes, 'We' is what troubles me.

Sometimes, I feel human being is the mostintelligent creature under the sun.

Sometimes, I feel we are fools to believe it!

I know I am not lost,And I am not so,

But whenever I look at you,It seems as if you are the only one I know.

I know I am not alone,There is a large world around me,

But whenever I look at you,It seems as if you are the only one I see.

I know there is no time,There is much work to start,But whenever I look at you,

It seems as if I forget what is what.

I know there is much happiness,I know I can enjoy,

But whenever I look at you,It seems as if you are the only joy.

If ever you will love me again...Be sure, that night, its going to rain...

I don't know howI don't know why

Good times of you and meI can't deny

The lonely walks, the crazy chatsAt times staring at the moon n sky

I never hope things to be the same...If ever you will love me again...

Be sure, that night, its going to rain...

We walked apart, and walked through states,But still i feel we were the best of mates,

I know somehow you have locked your heartAnd even i don't wish to open those gates,

Though, with you, I could be myselfI could be insane...

If ever you will love me again...Be sure, that night, its going to rain...

Together for ages and drifted apart,I don't know why but in my heart,

You have a nameYou have a place

Its you who occupies major part,

I feel your smileYou feel my pain...

If ever you will love me again...Be sure, that night, its going to rain...

IT'S GOING TO RAIN...

I have heard there is no right or wrong, only Power,Then why is it that when it comes to changing the system, people who can, cower.

Why is it that the purpose is power and power is the purpose,People have lost their senses & sense has lost its meaning and worth, I suppose.

Why is it that people in charge never take the right decisions,Narrow-mindedly thinking of present & personal profit, not of values & reputation

Why is it that good guys finish last,And anyone walking the other path has a blast.

Why is it easier for someone to not be good & all the laurel & hearts win,When did honesty & decency get thrown into the trash bin.

Why is it that elders who are supposed to guide us themselves indulge in weird games,Indulging in mud-slinging calling each other names.

Why is it that despite being in a position to circumstances change,People end up running after green money & objectives not even remotely in their range.

Why is it that words like politics have come to be in use with institutions and education,And all culture, values, morals and principles have undergone remorse and mortification

Why is it that I feel so strong an angst, as if I belong to another phylum,Or is it just me, crazy as usual, born to be thrown in a mental asylum…???

WHY…

When I entered this college fresh and young,I saw similar faces eager to learn,

None of us knew the journey that we commenced,Would be as beautiful as it proved to be in the

end,

To all our faces it has brought cheers,As I look back at these five years.

As the road to excellence began,It was our teachers who held our hands,

Taught us everything that would make us thebest,

Encouraged and nurtured us in this little nest,

I see myself fly and leave behind all fears,As I look back at these five years.

I will never forget the late night movies andgossips,

Having fun with friends on our little trips,

Putting of studies till the very last day,And on the day of exams all we did was pray,

I know I am going to miss my peers,As I look back at these five years.

We have fought we have cried, we have laughedand smiled,

But on this last day all I want to say,

The memories of these moments are going toremain etched,

As I can't let go my inertia to this place we call,SDC&H,

I feel my eyes fill with tears,

As I look back at these five years.

How quickly time has gone by,They say it can fly,

Before I know it's time to go,Whether I want to or not I do not know,

I feel my eyes fill with tears,

As I look back at these five years.

While I was on my way home today I took an auto

from Vadgaon to Swargate. The usual fare for this

distance used to be 15 Rupees, when we reached

swargate that I gave the auto driver a 20 rupees

note, he said he didn't have change. My co-

passengers paid n left...he asked fellow auto drivers

for change to return me the 5 bucks and I asked

other people on the road but no use, so he very

reluctantly offered me a tenner and I absent

mindedly accepted it. Then I realized that he was

ready to part with his hard earned 5 rupees...5

rupees for me is next to nothing...wouldn't make a

difference to me if I paid 20 instead of 15...I would

forget within minute about my loss...but that man

would probably go off to sleep thinking 'arre aaj toh

5 rupiyon ka ghata ho gaya' maybe he'd skip his

evening tea...would I skip anything?? No.

Definitely not...these thoughts flooded me for a few

seconds as I held that 10 rupee note he'd given

me...then I returned it saying that I want to spare

the change. At first he said no, a halfhearted no, but

I insisted...he took it from me...and almost

instantaneously....I saw relief flooding his eyes....I

was content... :)
