HISTORYHISTORY

The IEEE Singapore Section was legally registered with the Singapore Registry of Societies as a trade association in 1978.

The founding Section Chair was Peter Pang.

IEEE Singapore Section is recognized by IEEE as a geographical entity of Region 10.

Presentation to the NUS Student Branch Mar 2008

STRUCTURESTRUCTURE The 30- year-old Singapore Section has

24 chapters 2 affinity groups 3 student branches

The latest addition is the formation of the Nanotechnology Chapter under the IEEE Technology Council, which is a collection of many IEEE societies. Usually no chapter is formed under a council but this chapter is an exception due to the multidisciplinary nature of nanotechnology. At this point, Singapore is the third chapter formed under the Council worldwide.
