Since I was young, I have been obsessed with fashion. When most of my peers wanted to be astronauts or firefighters, I wanted to be a fashion designer. As I grew up, however, I began realizing

the design aspect was less for me and instead I preferred the business side of the industry. Not knowing exactly what I wanted to do I started college choosing Merchandising and Product

Development as my major. Through the courses I have taken I have developed a true passion for merchandising and styling. I have been given the opportunity to utilize these concepts and apply them not just to an academic perspective but see how they can be tackled in the real world. This being said, my career aspiration is to become a stylist. My studies have taught me the basic tools of styling such as

body shapes, silhouettes, how a person’s season or tone can affect the colors they wear, and so on, however, I want to take it beyond this. I have come to appreciate the emotion that styling can evoke.

The joy and confidence an outfit can bring someone is remarkable and can completely change the way they perceive them self. I’ve always been taught that if you look good you feel good and that is

something I want to share with others. I have also acquired a real admiration for the history of fashion and love being able to share how past trends can still be relevant today. So, as you will see in my

portfolio, I have compiled a lookbook, and inside you will find eight different outfits that I have had the pleasure of styling. The overall theme of my lookbook is casual street wear and I have incorporated

subtle touches of 90’s era trends.
