Simply Complete. VA-LCP ElbowPlating System.

Responds to the specifics of proximal ulna fractures byrecognizing the particular biomechanical requirements ofeach fracture type and therefore offering specific implantswith optimized shapes and screw configurations.

Provides multiple distal humerus plate configurationsincluding parallel and perpendicular plating, allowingsurgeons to choose their preferred solution.

…improving patient care.

Building on success…Founded upon the established principles of Synthes LCPtechnology and the first generation elbow plates, the VariableAngle LCP Elbow Plating System has the following features:

Designed to reduce the risk of soft tissue irritation bytaking into account the poor soft tissue coverage of the elbow, thereby improving the plate profile with an anatomical platecontour and enabling the screw heads to sit flush in the plate hole.

Offers simplicity and adaptability: variable angle lockingtechnology combines the simplicity of the established LCPscrew insertion technique with the possibility of adapting screw angulations. Adaptability is enhanced during screwinsertion by offering predefined screw angles while allowing +/-15° off-axis angulation, if needed.

Plate design

Contoured metaphyseal plate profile, together with roundededges and an improved anatomical plate fit help reduce theprominence of the construct without compromising stability.

Poor soft tissue coverage of the elbow makes the area proneto implant prominence. The VA-LCP Elbow Plating System isdesigned to help reduce the risk of soft tissue irritation throughfocused improvements to the implant design and profile.

Plate-screw interface designed forminimal screw-head prominence

2.7 mm variable angle locking screw: recess for screw-head minimizes screw prominence.

2.7 mm variable angle locking screws give the surgeon theability to create a fixed-angle construct with the freedom of+/-15° off-axis screw angulation. This enables the surgeon to:– Adapt screw angulations to patient anatomy– Capture specific fracture fragments – Adjust screw trajectory after plate bending– Position screws precisely to avoid joint penetration

2.7 mm low-profile metaphyseal compression screw:– Low-profile alternative to a cortex screw – Pulls the plate to the bone. Fully threaded, therefore not

intended to generate interfragmentary compression – Same thread as a variable angle locking screw or locking

screw – Can be replaced with a locking screw after plate-to-bone

compression has been achieved

2.7 mm metaphyseal screw

2.7 mm cortex screw

Designed to reduce therisk of soft tissue irritation

Limited-contact shaft profileLimits plate-to-bone contact to reduce impairment of blood supply

Tapered plate tipTapered end for submuscularplate insertion which may helpto preserve tissue viability

Reconstruction plate segmentsAllow additional contouring of plates to fit patient anatomy

Combi HolesAccept 3.5 mm locking, 3.5 mmcortex and 4.0 mm cancellousbone screws

Variable angle screw holesRecess for screwhead minimizes screw prominence to create a low-profile construct when used at the nominalangle. Screws can also be angled within a 30° conearound the central axis of the plate hole.

Rounded plate profile Minimizes the risk for softtissue irritation

Suture holes and undercutsAllow passage of suture needles through the undercut after plate application

Metaphyseal Screw OptionsFeatures variable angle locking holes that accept2.7 mm variable angle locking, 2.7 mm metaphy-seal, 2.7 mm locking, 2.7 mm cortex and 2.4 mmcortex screws

Olecranon platesDesigned to treat various olecranonfracture patterns

2.7 mm/3.5 mm VA-LCP Elbow Plates

Proximal ulna plates enable the surgeon to address the specific biomechanical requirements of each fracture pattern while minimizingirritations of the adjacent soft tissue.

1 Long proximal extension and moreproximal screw options secure small olecranon fragments; designed tohelp neutralize the forces of the triceps muscle.

2 Notches designed to minimize interference with the triceps tendon.

3 Reduced shaft thickness minimizesplate prominence.

Three Types of Olecranon Plates

VA-LCP Distal Humerus Plates

The plates offer multiple screw configurations for the medialand lateral columns, and the articular block.

1 Medial PlateThe standard medial column plate for both perpendicularand parallel plating configurations.

2 Extended Medial PlateThe extension buttresses the medial epicondyle and includes an ascending screw that stabilizes the medial column.

3 Lateral PlateThe lateral plate for the parallel-plating configuration thatallows long screws into the trochlea from lateral to medial.

4 Posterolateral PlateThe posterolateral plate for the perpendicular-plating configuration with screws targeting the capitellum.

5 Posterolateral Plate, with lateral supportThe screws from the lateral support target the articularblock.
