GOOD MORNING! You Need:

Pencil Science Notebook Colored Pencils Science Folder

Everything else needs to go to the back of the room.

Bell Work: Answer the following question in the back of your science notebook. Write the question! Yolanda pushes a box

150m with a force of 10 N. She does this in 2 minutes. How much power did she use?

Yolanda pushes a box 150m with a force of 10 N. She does this in 2 minutes. How much power did she use?

First: Write your equation P= W/T

Second: Fill in your equation Remember we need

a time in seconds 2 minutes * 60

seconds = 120 seconds

P= W/120 S

We are not given work but we know that w=f*d W= 10N * 150 W= 1500 J

Now, we can put it back into the equation P= 1500J / 120s

P = 12.5 W

TODAY Don’t forget you are working on the

following learning goal:

Students will be able to apply the scientific meaning of work and predict how machines reduce the amount of work in our daily lives.

Follow the procedure on your lab worksheet.
