Simon Hudson is a guitarist singer-songwriter whose highly original music weaves a captivating blend of world, roots and folk, with influences including The Cat Empire, Jose Gonzalez, Neil Finn, and Paul Simon. Based in Melbourne, Australia, he has toured with his band throughout Europe and Australia and played festivals, bars and countless rooms of happy music-lovers.
In September 2015 he launched album ‘Earthman’ in Melbourne, Australia. He’s released three singles from the album: ’Do Me A Favour’ - a groove-based funk stomper, ‘Never Knew Why’ - an infectious roots anthem, and ‘I Know You’ll Be Alright’ - an Afro-influenced ballad. Funds for the album were raised using crowd-funder Pozible, their fan-base investing more than $10,000 into backing the ongoing success of their music.
His 2012 EP Time And Space is a remarkable showcase of skilled songwriting, addictive roots rhythms and honest lyricism. For his live show he takes a flexible approach to suit the mood required, whether it be acoustic with strings, full band with percussion and horn section, or a straight-up roots trio.
In January 2016 his ‘Flight of the Earthman’ tour will take him throughout Australia. This will be followed in July by a European tour, including Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.
