This bulletin summarizes data from the 2011 Census for information regarding households and dwelling types in Simcoe County. The Census reflects a diverse community within the region, with different skills, cultural influences, and geographic areas. In 2011, the majority of residents in Simcoe County (86.3%) lived in a census family, which includes married couples or common law couples with or without children and single parents. Single-detached homes represented 74.9% of dwellings in Simcoe County, while 15.0% were apartments.

This bulletin summarizes data from the 2011 National Household Survey (NHS) regarding immigration and citizenship in Simcoe County. The NHS reflects a diverse community, with different skills, cultural influences and participation rates. In 2011, 97.6% of Simcoe County residents were Canadian citizens, and 2.4% were not Canadian citizens. A total of 50,915 Simcoe County residents (11.6%) were immigrants to Canada and of these, 68.7% came from Europe, and 44.8% immigrated here before 1971.

The NHS reflects a diverse community, with many different skills, cultural influences, and participation rates. In 2011, 65.9% of Simcoe County residents aged 15 years and older were in the labour force. Additionally, 91.6% of the labour force were employed. In terms of post-secondary education, 23.2% of the population aged 15 years and older had college diplomas and/or certificates.

This bulletin summarizes data collected from the 2011 National Household Survey (NHS) regarding income, earnings and housing in Simcoe County. The NHS shows a diverse community with many different skills, cultural influences and participation rates. For the year 2010, the median after tax income for Simcoe County households with two or more persons was $69,732, and the median after tax income for one-person households was $29,742. Additionally, 11.3% of Simcoe County households were low income, and the largest portion of households (40.6%) fell between the after tax income level of $50,000 and $99,999.
