Each basic device has an interface on the right hand side to connect to a port extender. The CPU, the power supply and a signalling contact only exist on the basic device. The basic devices have combo ports.

Combo port is a switch port represented by two

interfaces – RJ45 and SFP –, of which only one is

active.

A combo port can be used either with RJ45 or SFP.

Only one of the two ports can ever be active. If an

SFP transceiver is plugged in, the electrical RJ45 port

is deactivated.

Important:

The maximum number of 24 ports in total (basic device and extenders) cannot be exceeded!
