The Silly Hat for Matt Challenge has been established in support of stomach cancerresearch.
It aims to raise awareness and much needed funds for new treatments in to adisease that affects over 2,000 Australians every year, of which only 550 (28%) arelikely to survive beyond 5-years.
The challenge was started by Trine Simpson to honour her husband Matt, who losthis battle at just 40 years of age. Matt was a big kid at heart and had a love for sillyhats - wearing them at any and every opportunity. With two young sons, Trine isparticularly driven to find better solutions for the future!
All donations will be directed to Stomach Cancer Research conducted by the registered not for profit:

Every kid, and many adults, love a silly hat - they just need an excuse to wear one!
This challenge is as simple as hosting a 'Silly Hat' day at your school as a 'gold coin'fundraiser, with donations supporting research in to new treatments for stomachcancer. Other ideas could be to hold a 'silly hat parade' or even set up a photo boothto get the kids involved in a fun way!
