Step 1) Go to http://volunteer.uwsn.org

Step 2) Click “Become a Volunteer”

Step 3) Click “Sign Up/Registration”

Step 4) Fill out the information. Remember to use a personal email address. Your email address will be your username.

Also pick a “unique” nickname. This is not used externally.

Step 5) Click “Submit”

Congratulations! You have created an account! Now you can sign up for NGAGE!

1. Make sure you log-in using the new username and password you created. Once you’re logged in, on the

homepage, click the “NGAGE : Make a Difference” photo (Note: it scrolls through a few different photos)

2. You will be directed to the NGAGE information page. Review the details of the program and click the

link at the bottom of the page.

3. Now you can sign up for NGAGE. Scroll down and click “Express Interest.”

4. Enter your high school and graduation year and click “Submit” to complete registration for NGAGE!

Signing up for Volunteer Opportunities and Tracking your Volunteer Hours

With a volunteer profile, you can find and sign up for volunteer opportunities or self-report volunteer hours

that you complete on your own.

1. Use the Opportunity Search or Opportunity Calendar to view and sign up for opportunities. You’ll

sign up just like you did for NGAGE.

2. To self-report your independent volunteer hours, please follow these steps:

a. Make sure you are logged in to your account. You will know when you are logged in because there will

be a blue box at the top of the screen that says “Logout”. Once you are logged in, click “My Account”.

b. Click “Self Report Your Volunteer Service” on the left side menu.

c. Fill out the “Organization Served” and “Volunteer Opportunity Info” boxes. If the organization served is

not on the list, click where it says “Don’t see your organization, click here”.

d. Once you have filled out the information, please select “Submit”

Your hours total will collect at the top right of your profile. “Verified Hours” are those hours served that have been

confirmed by the organization served. When you select an organization that is on our system, they will be notified and

asked to verify your hours. If they are not in our system, there is a possibility of the hours being added to the “Verified”

total. However, the “Total Hours Served” will count un-verified self-reported hours.

Your Self-Reported Hours will show up on your profile, under the “Self-Reported Hours” section. Once verified they will

move to the “Volunteer History with United Way of Southern Nevada” section.
