August 2013 Hillsborough County will be “taking” the land needed for the new lane and compensating Tampa Palms for that land. That compensation will help fund the needed im- provements. In additional the County will also replace the roadway pavers on both sides of the entry so that the new lane(s) will match the pavers on the existing road- way. There are many other improvements being modeled, including new trees and landscape at the site of the new pond and decorative railings to be used in place of the plain steel railings used along other portions of BB Downs. There has been no firm date for commencement of con- struction announced but the forecast is that it will be in the first quarter of 2014. Making Changes The Right Way

Styles change family needs change and

so from landscape to new kitchens and

bath to new building additions many

owners are improving their homes

This is great news for all of Tampa

Palms it keeps the community vibrant

and current

Please remember if you are plan-

ning any modification to the exte-

rior of your home or property

you must submit an RMC appli-

cation You will receive written

authority to proceed

RMC forms are available from the TPOA at Compton

Park or online at httpwwwtpoanetRMChtml Note

some villages require approval from the village-based

RMC Make certain to obtain those approvals

While the TPOA governing docu-

ments require RMC approval only

for exterior modifications the City

of Tampa requires a construction

building permit for virtually all

work inside or outside

Homeowners must apply for permits for everything from

ordinary repairs and remodeling to major construction

This process (including professional inspections) assures

owners that work on their homes will be up to date code-

wise and safe

Tampa Palms Ponds

Water Quality amp Beauty

Tampa Palms has 81 stormwater ponds Although the

ponds were designed as storm water retention facilities

they are a beautiful addition to the community

Usually the ponds can be kept aesthetically pleasant by

monthly treatment for the growth of noxious plants Dur-

ing the months of July and August the combination of high

temperatures and weed filled runoff from the conservation

areas encourages wild growth but balance is usually re-

stored by the end of summer

Roadway Trash Fouls Ponds

Garbage thrown on the roads

flows straight to the ponds

especially during the rainy

season

The garbage shown to the

right was pulled from a Tam-

pa Palms street drain It was

headed to a pond

If you observe trash in a

pond call the CDD to have it

removed (977-3933)

Beware of Careless Gardeners

Never throw or allow your gardeners to throw grass or

shrub clippings into any pond or storm water drain

Garden trash not only adds to pond pollution it also can

cause blocked drains and street flooding

Tampa Palms Ponds

Water Quality amp Beauty

Tampa Palms has 81 stormwater ponds Although the

ponds were designed as storm water retention facilities

they are a beautiful addition to the community

Usually the ponds can be kept aesthetically pleasant by

monthly treatment for the growth of noxious plants Dur-

ing the months of July and August the combination of high

temperatures and weed filled runoff from the conservation

areas encourages wild growth but balance is usually re-

stored by the end of summer

Roadway Trash Fouls Ponds

Garbage thrown on the roads

flows straight to the ponds

especially during the rainy

season

The garbage shown to the

right was pulled from a Tam-

pa Palms street drain It was

headed to a pond

If you observe trash in a

pond call the CDD to have it

removed (977-3933)

Beware of Careless Gardeners

Never throw or allow your gardeners to throw grass or

shrub clippings into any pond or storm water drain

Garden trash not only adds to pond pollution it also can

cause blocked drains and street flooding

Making Changes The Right Way

Styles change family needs change and

so from landscape to new kitchens and

bath to new building additions many

owners are improving their homes

This is great news for all of Tampa

Palms it keeps the community vibrant

and current

Please remember if you are plan-

ning any modification to the exte-

rior of your home or property

you must submit an RMC appli-

cation You will receive written

authority to proceed

RMC forms are available from the TPOA at Compton

Park or online at httpwwwtpoanetRMChtml Note

some villages require approval from the village-based

RMC Make certain to obtain those approvals

While the TPOA governing docu-

ments require RMC approval only

for exterior modifications the City

of Tampa requires a construction

building permit for virtually all

work inside or outside

Homeowners must apply for permits for everything from

ordinary repairs and remodeling to major construction

This process (including professional inspections) assures

owners that work on their homes will be up to date code-

wise and safe

For questions about what work requires a permit use the

Making Changes The Right Way

Styles change family needs change and

so from landscape to new kitchens and

bath to new building additions many

owners are improving their homes

This is great news for all of Tampa

Palms it keeps the community vibrant

and current

Please remember if you are plan-

ning any modification to the exte-

rior of your home or property

you must submit an RMC appli-

cation You will receive written

authority to proceed

RMC forms are available from the TPOA at Compton

Park or online at httpwwwtpoanetRMChtml Note

some villages require approval from the village-based

RMC Make certain to obtain those approvals

While the TPOA governing docu-

ments require RMC approval only

for exterior modifications the City

of Tampa requires a construction

building permit for virtually all

work inside or outside

Homeowners must apply for permits for everything from

ordinary repairs and remodeling to major construction

This process (including professional inspections) assures

owners that work on their homes will be up to date code-

wise and safe

For questions about what work requires a permit use the

Tampa Palms Ponds

Water Quality amp Beauty

Tampa Palms has 81 stormwater ponds Although the

ponds were designed as storm water retention facilities

they are a beautiful addition to the community

Usually the ponds can be kept aesthetically pleasant by

monthly treatment for the growth of noxious plants Dur-

ing the months of July and August the combination of high

temperatures and weed filled runoff from the conservation

areas encourages wild growth but balance is usually re-

stored by the end of summer

Roadway Trash Fouls Ponds

Garbage thrown on the roads

flows straight to the ponds

especially during the rainy

season

The garbage shown to the

right was pulled from a Tam-

pa Palms street drain It was

headed to a pond

If you observe trash in a

pond call the CDD to have it

removed (977-3933)

Beware of Careless Gardeners

Never throw or allow your gardeners to throw grass or

shrub clippings into any pond or storm water drain

Garden trash not only adds to pond pollution it also can

cause blocked drains and street flooding
