We, the undersigned, oppose any attempt to introduce extreme abortion laws in NZ.

Any changes would potentially pave the way for* late term abortions (abortion up to birth),

* ‘gendercide’ (aborting children on the basis of their gender),

* eugenics (aborting those with disabilities e.g. Down’s syndrome),

* and possibly even partial-birth abortions.

Along with protecting the rights of the unborn child, we need to protect the health and welfare of mothers (and fathers as well) and the rights of women to know the medical facts in order that they can make fully informed and independent

decisions.
