BACKPLATE ANDHARNESSThe new injection moulded composite back-plate is ergonomicallydesigned to be robust andlightweight to ensure optimal load distributionand balance – thus maximising comfort andminimising wearer fatigue.

The backplate harness is manufactured fromflame retardant polyesterwebbing and features corrosion resistantpolyamide buckles and fixings. The unique, over-centre locking Kevlar cylinder band is adjustableto any cylinder size without the use of tools.

The Sigma 2 can beused with traditional steel,or the new generation oflightweight compositecylinders.

FACEMASKThe Sigma 2 may be usedwith the full range ofSabre PanaSeal andPanaVisor positive pressure facemasks. Fitted with optically clearpolycarbonate visors toprovide full face impactprotection, they are available with a choice of non-dermatitic Neopreneor silicone materials.

PNEUMATIC SYSTEMThe heart of the newSigma 2 set is a simpleand reliable two-stagepneumatic system comprising an instant positive pressure demandvalve, first stage pressurereducing valve, cylinderconnector assembly,shoulder mounted com-bined pressure indicatorand warning whistle.

DEMAND VALVEThe ultra compact, instantpositive pressure demandvalve features a servo-assisted tilting diaphragmfor high protection, lowbreathing resistance and excellent dynamic performance; particularly at high flow rates.

Mounted on the left side of the facemask, thedemand valve providesminimum wearer profilewith unimpeded speechtransmission character-istics.

OPERATINGFEATURESThe combined pressurereducer and cylinder connector assembly features only two movingparts to ensure efficiencyand reliability. The fullyautomatic operation of the reducer requires noadjustment when usingcylinders of charging pressures up to 300 bar.

The shoulder mountedpressure indicator and warning whistleassembly features photo-luminescent face markingsfor low-light legibility anda robust stainless steel andpolycarbonate case with additional rubber shroud.The warning whistle hasan operating pressure of55 bar.
