Hasselfors Mill Park In the park by Hasselfors Mill is a well-kept and amazingly genuine mill environment. Hammarsjön’s bird sanctuary By Lake Teen. One of the first landscaped wetlands, now with a multitude of birds. Porla Brunn Well A spa from the 1700s, in a stylish and cosy environment. You can still drink from the well. Rankemossen Nature Reserve Untouched moor with rich bird life. Mythical area with a sense of wilderness. Vargavidderna’ Nature Reserve Beautiful views, including that of Gryten and several hiking trails with shelters. There is also a bird tower. Däldenäs Large campsite and summer centre at a wonderful location by the Skagern shore. Ramundeboda Exciting historical location with restored abbey by Lake Borasjön. Café and hiking trail. Finnerödja Cultural Heritage Museum One of the countryside’s most comprehensive and diverse cultural heritage museums with buildings from the 1500s. Ullsand A kilometre-long sandy beach with shallow and clear waters. Skiren One of the earliest discoveries of an iron smelting site and slag heap, which are 2,500 year old. Rockebro Nature Reserve with a pagan holy well The mystique feels palpable. Footbridges over the moors, a holy well, seldom seen animals and plants all contribute to the atmosphere. Kråksjöåsen Esker Nature reserve with an esker that has been a travelling route since time immemorial. Munkastigen and Bergslagsleden trails go through here. Kullängsstugan Timbered cottage from the end of the 1600s, an example of how wealthy farmers lived. Lovely wall paintings. Tiveden’s tourist road Scenic driving roads along lake Unden. Rest and BBQ places. Getaryggen Nature Reserve An esker that has always been a travelling route. The border between the Götaland and Svealand regions lies here. Konst i ring (Art in a circle) Nature trail that is also an art exhibition of works from artists whose roots are in Tiveden. Dammtorp Cultural Heritage Museum Tived’s Cultural Heritage Association’s well-visited museum. Formed by many giant boulders. Tivedstorp An entire village, originating from the 1600s, landscaped by Finnish– immigrants (Svedjefinnar). Very popular. Fagertärn The pond in which Sweden’s famous red water lilies bloom every July–August. Bellman Museum, The Aspa Estate Contains hundreds of objects linked to the poet and minstrel Bellman – original manuscripts, his Psalm book, etc. Olshammarsgården The birthplace of writer Verner von Heidenstam. Houses a refreshment room that serves food and beverages. The Church of Birgitta The original church was built by Saint Birgitta’s husband, who owned the estate then. See No. 24. Vitsand Naturally beautiful beach for child-friendly bathing, with a very long and sandy beach. Lies in Tiveden’s National Park. Tiveden National Park Opened in 1983 as “Sweden’s most southern wilderness”. Many visitors and fantastic nature. Igelbäcken Furnace Preserved cabin facility that was established in 1696, renovated in 1824 and closed in 1923. Utnäset Nature Reserve Offers astounding views of the archipelago in northern Vättern. Hiking trails. Hulta Pastures and Grooves Nature reserve with plenty of hazel, aspen and also naturally-growing trees such as oak and ash. The Granvik Visitor’s Centre There are five different marked trails in the area with lots of information. Djäknesundet A wonderful place with hiking trails, ravishing views, high cliffs and sandy beaches. Hayfields of Bölet Nature reserve with lovely old fields of hay and a range of unusual plants. Forsvik Mill The environment has been recreated in European high standards. Lots of tourist activities. Forsvik lock gates on the Göta canal The first lock gate to be built in this gigantic canal project. Completed in 1813. Christened “Carl XIII’s lock”. Källebacken with Grotteberget Fantastic viewing point. There are also hiking trails, a restaurant, cultural heritage museum, etc. Sights and attractions Undenäs Church Called “The cathedral of Tiveden”, a very impressive neo-Gothic building. Hovet with Hökaberget A “Natura 2000” area with fascinating greenery, including a beech forest. Viewpoint at Hökaberget. Sätra Mill Natural beauty surrounds this renovated mill environment, which includes an estate, hotel and a hostel. Edet Mills were here since the middle ages. Includes a bone mill where bone meal was ground and used as fertilizer. Lindberga volcano area Distinctive geological area with open and visible traces of the volcano – 1.9 billion years old. Skaga stave church Quiet and mythical place where the original medieval church has been replaced many times. Hallerudsbron Bridge Bridge over Unden’s southern outlet at Edsån. Monstrously beautiful and a view you won’t forget. Vattendelaren (watershed divide) Water runs either to the east or west. But here, it runs both ways at the same time. Lindåsgården One of the active Älgarås Cultural Heritage Association’s two estates. Main local history day is the last Sunday of July. Älgarås Church One of the country’s most prominent medieval churches with fascinating ceiling paintings. Memorial of an airplane crash On May 19 1942, during the Second World War, the people of Åsebol heard an airplane fly by and then the sound of a crash. Kvarnstensberget Fascinating greenery among carved millstones. Lies along the hiking trail. Högsåsen’s Hiking Centre and Nature Reserve Fourteen different trails to choose from. In the reserve there are many exciting natural phenomena and huge naturally- growing trees. The Kvarnfallet Experience A restored charcoal kiln site, a mill ruin, millpond and a little waterfall are located deep in the forest here. Stikkan Andersson’s statue He wrote about 3,000 songs and is the man who created ABBA. He was born in Hova in 1931. His statue stands in the square. Folkeberg Bronze-Age Cairn Peaceful and small nature reserve in a little forest with cairn and ancient fields. The Ribbingsfors Estate The estate where Frans G.
