FOR MAIDENS, TWO YEARS OLD. Weight, 122 lbs..

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Girther Abel Cedillo Peter Miller 4/1

2 2 Dr. Schivel Ruben Fuentes Luis Mendez 5/25/24 SA 4f :49.3h B Worked inside Honorary Degree (4f, :49.4h) for Mendez and proved noticeably best, edging clear by more than a length at

the wire without really being asked much and going much quicker than official time, splits of :11.4, :23.1 and :48 flat on our watches with something left late. Definitely can run and should debut soon, looks to have speed and ability.

3 3 Ambivalent Mario Gutierrez Doug O'Neill 7/26/15 SA 5f 1:02.4hg B- Worked inside Ox Bridge (5f, 1:03.4hg) for O'Neill but was by himself throughout as workmate was off slowly and

couldn't keep up, just galloping throughout in easy drill, splits of :26 flat, :38.1, :50.3 and 1:02.4, never asked a drop. Nice prospect, very good mover, just not sure how much of a sprinter he is.

6/8 SA 5f 1:00.4h B In company outside Me Likey (5f, 1:01h) for O'Neill and was best while drawing clear by more than a length at the wire, not really asked much at any stage, splits of :23.4, :35.4 and 1:00.4 for O'Neill. Brought $550K at the OBS March Sale and definitely will be suited by longer distances.

6/1 SA 4f :47.3hg B Again worked from gate inside with Exhalting (same time) while not showing much quickness leaving the barrier but then moving up to be head-and-head throughout, splits of :23.4, :35.4, and :47.4, good work for O'Neill. Looks like a nice prospect but not a sprint type at this stage, getting fit and should make the meeting.

5/25 SA 4f :49.4hg C+ Gate drill inside Exhalting (same time) for O'Neill, a little sluggish leaving the gate but then moved up to be head-and-head throughout, perhaps slightly second best, not asked much, splits of :25.3 and :49.4. Nicely bred (Constitution) but doesn't act like a sprint type just yet.

6 6 Bordeaux Red Flavien Prat J. Desormeaux 5/16/13 SA 4f :48h B- Worked inside Colossal Storm (same time), final three furlongs in :11.2 and :36 flat, not too bad but was under some

coaxing while workmate was just breezing outside while appearing considerably best. Should debut soon, has bit of run but doesn't strike us as a win-early type.

5/30 SA 4f :49.1hg C+ Gate drill outside Bean and the Bug (6f, 1:16.1hg) for K. Desormeaux, breaking well and leading early but not showing a whole lot of zip, splits of :25.1, :37.1 and :49.1, some coaxing most of the way. Appears to be a good sized colt but like his sire Texas Red probably isn't a quick type. Worth another look.

7 7 Exhalting Victor Espinoza Doug O'Neill 6/1

8 8 Claw Aaron Gryder Andrew Lerner 8/16/11 SA 5f 1:01.2hg B- No blinkers, in team drill with Rantanen (5f, 1:01.3hg), Weapon (5f, 1:01.hg) and Tiger's Song (5f, 1:01.4hg) for Lerner

and was best while on the lead most of the way, splits of :36.1, :48.1 and 1:01.2, mild hand urging in the final stages while drawing clear late. Had an outing last month in a modest affair and finished an okay third and certainly should benefit from that experience.

9 9 Schnell Umberto Rispoli Simon Callaghan 12/1 5/31 SA 4f :49.4hg C+ Gate drill outside Talkingnonstop (same time) for Callaghan and was best by about a length when eased up after a half,

ridden pretty good most of the way, splits of :25.2, :37.2 and :49.4 on our watches while getting fit. Not a quick type at this stage, probably nothing special.

10 10 Deputy Gary Geovanni Franco Ruben Gomez 30/1 6/14 SA 3f :37hg C+ In company inside Lady Mo (same time) in short gate work, splits of :24.3 and :36.4 on our watches, even throughout

under some mild urging. Fair to moderate type at this stage, probably a maiden claimer.

6/7 SA 5f 1:01.4h C+ Worked outside Super Classic (5f, 1:01.4h) for Gomez and was head-and-head with workmate from the 3/8ths pole to the wire, splits of :12 flat and :37.3. Probably just a moderate type but really wasn't asked much, worth another look, perhaps.

1 1 Lets Get Wild Victor Flores J. Kruljac 6/16/10 SA 4f :49.4h TT B- Solo training track drill for Kruljac, going off slowly and then ridden through the lane, splits of :23.4 and :36.2, good

finish. Holds her form, seeking another maiden turf sprint for Caifornia-breds.

2 2 From Jamesto Jamie Evin Roman Doug O'Neill 15/1

3 3 Cassie Belle Aaron Gryder Sean McCarthy 15/1

4 4 Ole Silver Drayden Van Dyke Philip D'Amato 12/1 6/14 SA 4f :48.4h B- Solo main track drill for D'Amato, mild coaxing with splits of :12 flat and :36.4 for the final furlongs, decent enough.

Probably wants grass and a distance of ground before showing her best, certainly can improve with experience.

5 5 Alice Marble Tiago Pereira Steven Miyadi 8/1

6 6 Hot Chicken Ruben Fuentes Michael McCarthy 6/15/23 SA 4f :50h C+ Really wasn't asked much in solo half mile drill, splits of :12.2, :24.2 and :50.1 for M. McCarthy. Palace filly is getting fit,

probably nothing special at this stage.

urged through the lane, splits of :24.2, :36.3 and 1:02.3 on our watches, fair move at best. Needs a class drop.

Page 3: Siegel's Workout Analysis Santa Anita Sunday, June …...Siegel's Workout Analysis Santa Anita Sunday, June 21st Race #1 - Siren Lure S. Stakes - 5 1/2F T FOR THREE-YEAR-OLDS AND UPWARD

3 3 Your Royal Coil Tiago Pereira Paul Aguirre 5/26/10 SA 4f :50.1h TT B- No blinkers, solo training track drill for Aguirre, breezing through the lane, final three furlongs in :38.2. Holds his form,

seeking another restricted (nw-2) claimer.

4 4 Flying Business Jorge Velez Matthew Chew 12/1

5 5 Awesome Amanda Abel Cedillo Dan Blacker 6/16/11 SA 5f 1:01h B- In company outside Muralist (same time), breaking off slightly behind but pulling very hard in the opening furlong to move

ahead by a half-length, was asked a bit into the lane after being re-joined by workmate and finished about a half length back at the wire, splits of :24.4, :36.2 and 1:01.1 on our watches. Been away for more than a year, may be a work or two away from being totally fit.

1 1 Soberano [FR] Brice Blanc Thomas Bell, II 30/1 6/13 SA 5f 1:00.3h B- In company inside Kristi's Tiger (same time) for Bell and may have been slightly second best, mild coaxing in the final

stages while workmate was breezing, splits of :23.3 and :48.3 for the final half mile. Looks fine, strictly a turf horse, needs to be realistically spotted.

2 2 Red King Umberto Rispoli Philip D'Amato 4/16/14 SA 5f 1:03.2h TT B- Inside Bowie's Hero (5f, 1:02.3h TT) for O'Neill, breaking off a few lengths in front and then finishing about a half

length clear at the wire, neither one asked much, final three furlongs in :38 flat. Looks fine, gets tested for class in San Juan Capistrano.

3 3 Tintoretto [GER] Ruben Fuentes John Sadler 8/16/14 SA 6f 1:15.2h C+ Solo six furlong main track drill for Sadler, final 5/8ths in :24.4, :37.2 and 1:03 flat, hard urged through the lane, not

impressive. Probably needs grass, fair to moderate German-bred runner.

4 4 Siberian Iris [IRE] Drayden Van Dyke Richard Mandella 5/16/10 SA 4f :48.1h B- Long-winded veteran mare worked a solo half mile on the main track while preparing to tackle the boys in the San Juan,

late changing leads but looking fine, splits of :23.3 and :49 flat on our watches. The longer the better for her.

5 5 Kershaw Abel Cedillo Philip D'Amato 6/16/13 SA 6f 1:13h B+ In blinkers, in company inside Cistron (5f, 100.1h) and Ivy League (4f, :50.4h, tied in at top of lane) and did quite well while

drawing clear in the final furlong under very light coaxing only, then continued out strongly to 7/8th pole, splits of :23.3, :47.4 and 1:00.1 for the final furlongs while looking plenty fit and ready. Questionable at a marathon trip and turf but approaches the San Juan in very good shape.

1 1 Big Sweep Flavien Prat Mark Glatt 6/56/14 SA 5f 1:01.4h B In company outside Bluegrass Sky (5f, 1:02.2h), breaking off behind, just galloping along, and then spurting clear in the

closing stages when asked a bit, nice drill for unbeaten Mr. Big filly. Should have no trouble with two-turns when given the chance.

2 2 Smiling Shirlee Mike Smith Jeff Bonde 9/5

3 3 Reiwa Abel Cedillo Jonathan Wong 15/1

4 4 Kristi's Tiger Brice Blanc Thomas Bell, II 30/1 6/13 SA 5f 1:00.3h B Outside Soberano (same time) for Bell and went stride-for-stride throughout, neither one asked much, final half mile in

:23.4 and :48.3., solid drill for both. Holds her form; daughter of Smiling Tiger may prefer one corner at this stage of her career.

FOR MAIDENS, FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. Three Year Olds, 120 lbs.; Older, 126 lbs. Claiming Price $50,000..

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Cosmic Cowgirl Flavien Prat Richard Baltas 3/16/10 SA 5f 1:01.1h C+ Went off nicely, slowed up a bit in the final stages but was under no real pressure, splits of :23 flat and :49.2 for the final

half mile for Baltas. Needs a class drop and probably prefers to sprint at this stage of her career.

2 2 True Mischief Abel Cedillo Richard Baltas 8/16/14 SA 5f 1:03h TT C+ Worked inside Desert Stone (5f, 1:02.4h) for Baltas, breaking off a couple of lengths in front and then finishing about a

half length back at the wire, fair move for Baltas while under some coaxing through the lane, final three furlongs in :37 flat. Needs a substantial class drop into the maiden claiming ranks to find her proper level, we would think.

3 3 With This Vow Drayden Van Dyke Ronald Ellis 7/26/5 SA 4f :49.1h B- Broke off in front of Shark Cat (5f, 1:01.2h) for Ellis and was mostly in hand to finish about a neck the best at the wire, nice

and easy while coming the final half mile in :11.4 and :36.4. Definitely has some improvement in her and should go better with a class drop.

4 4 M Fast Ruben Fuentes Neil Drysdale 6/16/6 SA 5f 1:02.2h TT B- In blinkers, solo five furlong training track drill for Drysdale, splits of 23,3, :35.3 and 1:02.1, slowing up through the

lane but never really asked much. May improve a bit with the hood and certainly should go better with a drop into the maiden claiming ranks.

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 True Valour [IRE] Jose Valdivia, Jr. Simon Callaghan 6/16/5 SA 4f :50h B Just galloping thru the lane in easy breeze, final quarter in :25 flat. Maintains his edge, just a cut below the real good turf

milers on this circuit.

2 2 Jasikan [Ire] Ruben Fuentes John Sadler 20/1 6/13 SA 5f 1:03.3h TT C+ Easy to the top, then was asked and ridden through the lane, final quarter mile in :25.2. Expected a bit better, may

need more work, been away since last summer.

3 3 Cleopatra's Strike Mike Smith Philip D'Amato 7/26/8 SA 5f 1:00.4h TT B+ Ridden some through the lane but finished strongly in solo training track drill, splits of :23.4, :35.2 and 1:00.2, a bit

quicker than given. Holds his edge after freshening and should fire a big shot upon his return.

Page 5: Siegel's Workout Analysis Santa Anita Sunday, June …...Siegel's Workout Analysis Santa Anita Sunday, June 21st Race #1 - Siren Lure S. Stakes - 5 1/2F T FOR THREE-YEAR-OLDS AND UPWARD

4 4 Blitzkrieg Victor Espinoza Doug O'Neill 12/1

5 5 Sharp Samurai Abel Cedillo Mark Glatt 4/15/21 SA 4f :50.2h B- Getting fit again for Glatt (been away since last summer), went an easy half mile, just galloping along looking fine. Several

works away from being fit at this stage but seems in fine fettle.

6 6 Souter [GB] Evin Roman Mark Glatt 15/1

7 7 Border Town Flavien Prat Richard Mandella 4/16/12 SA 4f :50h B Just galloping, final three furlongs in :37.1. On top of his game for Mandella, moves way up in class in American S. next

time out.

6/5 SA 4f :48.1h B+ Breezing through the lane and looking sharp in solo half mile drill, final three furlongs in :11.2 and :35.4, plenty left. Gets the acid test vs. graded stakes foes next time out.

8 8 Bowies Hero Umberto Rispoli Philip D'Amato 4/16/14 SA 5f 1:02.3h TT B- Went easily outside Red King (5f, 1:03.2h TT), breaking off a few lengths back and then finishing slightly behind at

the wire, never really asked much, final three furlongs in a galloping :38 flat. Looks fine, had accomplished his more serious drills at Los Alamitos while getting fit for comeback.

9 9 King of Speed Geovanni Franco Jeff Bonde 20/1

10 10 Bolo Drayden Van Dyke Carla Gaines 8/15/22 SA 6f 1:15.1h C+ Asked pretty good thru the lane, final three furlongs in :37.3 for C. Gaines. Been away since the fall, not normally a great

worker and needs turf. Still a bit rusty.

1 1 Gold Arrow Mario Gutierrez Neil Drysdale 12/1 6/7 SA 5f 1:01.1h TT B Continues to impress in the a.m. breezing an easy five furlongs on training track for Drysdale, final three panels in :12

flat and :36.4. Best race was sprinting on dirt (in her debut) so maybe that's what she should try next.

2 2 Provocation Mike Smith Bob Baffert 5/25/29 SA 6f 1:12.3h B+ In company outside War Path and was never asked while drawing clear late, quite impressive, final half mile in a sharp

:23.2 and :47.4 for Baffert. Moves like a quality type. Daughter of Into Mischief seems pretty fit and should be very live at first asking.

5/20 SA 5f 1:00hg B+ Gate drill outside Ready Reward (5f, 100.1hg) for Baffert, stalking that one in hand to the turn and then taking control without being asked, in front by a length when eased up, splits of :23.3, :35.23, :47.1 and 1:00 flat, plenty left in the tank. Really nice prospect.

3 3 Miss Addie Pray Drayden Van Dyke Patrick Gallagher 12/1 6/8 SA 5f 1:00.2h B- Went off very fast and then lost some of her steam late, final half mile in :22.3 and :49 flat for Gallagher. Has plenty of

zip but needs some work in the stamina department. Chased Gamine home in debut and won't have anything that good (you would hope)) to worry about next time.

4 4 Quiet Secretary Geovanni Franco Ian Kruljac 50/1

5 5 Himiko Abel Cedillo Bob Baffert 3/16/15 SA 5f :59.4h A- Looked terrific, easy early, very strong late without every being asked, :36 flat and :59.4 on our watches and finishing

just in front of Pas de Panique (3f, :36.2, who tied in on the far turn. Was well beaten in her debut but sure looks much better since. Have to think this daughter of American Pharoah will be tough vs. maidens next time out.

6/10 SA 5f 1:00.2h B Worked outside Happy Hepo (5f, 1:00.3h) for Baffert, breaking off a length behind and finishing head-and-head at the wire, neither one asked, splits of :25 flat, 36.3 and 1:00.4 on our watches a bit slower than given but fine nonetheless. Seems certain to improve with experience.

6 6 Queen of Aces Kent Desormeaux Vladimir Cerin 8/1

7 7 Scarlet Lips Flavien Prat Peter Miller 4/1

8 8 La V. Tiago Pereira Leonard Powell 3/16/7 SA 4f :48.2h B Solo half mile drill for Powell, much slower than given, splits of :25.3 and :50.1 on our watches but was breezing every

step of the way looking nice while getting ready for debut. Daughter of Midnight Lute moves well, has some run, should be competitive first crack out of the box.

9 9 Brandons Danger Edwin Maldonado George Papaprodromou 20/1

3 3 Of Good Report Kent Desormeaux Vladimir Cerin 5/1

4 4 Go Daddy Go Jose Valdivia, Jr. Brian Koriner 15/1 6/13 SA 4f :48.3h B In blinkers, did well without urging, final three furlongs in :11.3 and :35.3. May be ready for an improved effort, has all of

his conditions.

5 5 Southern King Ruben Fuentes Peter Miller 6/1

6 6 Winning Element Drayden Van Dyke Ryan Hanson 8/1

7 7 Fivestar Lynch [IRE] Mike Smith Richard Baltas 10/1 6/13 SA 5f 1:03.1h TT B- Worked inside Gallovie (same time) in training track drill for Baltas and was about a half-length the best without need

of urging (workmate asked a bit), final quarter in :25.2. Seems in good enough shape, seeking another first level allowance affair.

8 8 Lincoln City Victor Flores J. Kruljac 20/1 6/14 SA 4f :48.3h TT B- Solo training track drill for Kruljac, asked through the lane and finishing well enough, final three furlongs in :36.3.

Maintains his form, seems about the same.

9 9 Colosi Abel Cedillo Doug O'Neill 15/1 6/15 SA 5f 1:01.3h B Solo five furlong drill for O'Neill, breezing through the lane with plenty left, final three furlongs in :11.4 and :36.3. Set for

an improved effort, has all of his allowance conditions.

5/25 SA 6f 1:12.4h B+ In company outside Fore Left (same time) for O'Neill, and appeared a tad the best over younger group-stakes winning barn mate, splits of :25 flat, :36.2 and 1:00.3 from the 5/8ths pole to the wire on our watches, something left, solid move. Appears perked up for a good effort, has been primarily a grass performer but certainly well enough on the main track today.

10 10 Turn the Switch Edwin Maldonado Peter Eurton 12/1

11 11 Galloping Mischief Flavien Prat Richard Mandella 4/16/13 SA 6f 1:14.2h B Worked inside Bombard (5f, 1:01.2h) for R. Mandella, and was never really asked while even but slightly best at the

wire, splits of :23.3 and :48.3 for the final half mile. Had a right to need his last and seems likely to step forward next time out. Looks good.

12 12 Succeedandsurpass [IRE] Umberto Rispoli Mike Puype 3/16/15 SA 5f 1:01.1h B+ Had been a Baltas, now a Puype, breezing throughout looking sharp and right on edge, final half mile in :23.4 and :48.2,

plenty left while striding out nicely in the final furlong. Sure handled the main track fine here, might be an option down the road. Eligible to non-winners of two.

13 13 Three Ay Em Aaron Gryder Andrew Lerner 6/1

14 14 Move Over [GB] Ruben Fuentes Hector Palma 15/1 6/6 SA 4f :49.3h B- Inside Rational (4f, :49.4h) for Palma, and was best, going fairly easily most of the way (mild ask late), splits of :24.3 and

:49.2 on our watches. Maybe needed his last race and can improve but probably could use a class drop.
