Who was Sidney Lewis

Sidney Lewis was the youngest British soldier in (“World War I” also known as the “Great War”) He was twelve years old when he fought at the battle of Somme in 1916. In world war I, a numbe of young boys joined up to serve as soldiers before they were eighteen, the legal age to serve in the army. It was reported that the yougest British soldier was twelve year old, sent home from France in 1917 with other underage boys from various regiments.

he was  youngest authenticated British soldier in World War I was the twelve-year-old Sidney Lewis who fought at the Battle of the Somme in 1916

Sidney Lewis enlisted in August 1915, and was fighting in the trenches of the Western Front by the following June.

If we were in Lewis situation we wouldn't go to war because we would know that weapons kill people and maby these guns would kill us

our conclusion is that he was a great and brave man with lots of gutsfor joining the Great War and that he wanted to fight because in that time people didn't knew that the war would be so tragic, bloody, deadly and exhausting
