Important Announcement: The Colts Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society of Hancock

Creek will be distributing applications to those eligible 4th and 5th grade students starting November

9th. The induction ceremony for new members will be held February 1st at 9:00am at the school. For

more detailed information, please contact the Chapter Advisor and School Counselor, Ms. Kristen Perks

Tips for Student Bus Safety

1. Always know the BUS NUMBER and STOP LOCATION for your child.

2. DISCUSS AND PRACTICE the safest way to get to and from the bus stop before the first day of

school.

3. Make sure your child leaves home EARLY ENOUGH to arrive at the bus stop on time (at least

five minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive).

4. Always have your child WEAR BRIGHT CLOTHING and WALK/BIKE FACING TRAFFIC.

5. Make sure your child knows to wait for the bus in a SAFE PLACE – well off the roadway.

6. Talk with your child about being ALERT AT ALL TIMES – while walking to the bus stop,

waiting for the bus, and walking home from the bus stop.
