Reflection: Let us bring honour to Jesus’ name by our words and actions. Because of what he taught and preached, Jesus was sentenced to die. And yet, God exalted him, raising him from the dead. Those who are Jesus’ disciples continue to teach and preach what he first proclaimed. In doing so, they exalt him and bring honour to his name. Death: Frank Donald Ahlgren passed away at the age of 68 and his funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 8th at 11am in the Chapel. We offer our deepest sympathy to his entire family and pray for Frank’s eternal rest in heaven.

Parish Education Committee – Call Out for New Members! The Parish Education Committee (PEC) is seeking new members to join the committee for the next school year. The PEC is comprised of our pastor, parents, our principal, who, together, provide direction for Sacred Heart School. We meet once a month to discuss school matters and work with various sub-‐committees that support the school (Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Parent Participation and other initiatives and activities). Serving on the PEC is a great opportunity to learn more about Sacred Heart and its programs while using your experience and expertise to ensure a successful future for the school. Your participation in the PEC fulfills your family’s annual Parent Participation hours requirement. We encourage parents who are Catholics in good standing and members of the parish to consider joining the PEC.
Please email Ellen Fairn, PEC Parish Liaison at ellen@modern-‐line.ca or Jason Cummings, PEC Vice Chair at [email protected] for more information. The deadline for nominations is: Thursday, May 16.
“Peter was distressed that Jesus had said to him a third time, ‘Do you love me?’ and he said to him, ‘Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep.’” (John 21:17) All of us are challenged to show our love for Jesus and others. Discern how God is calling you to use your time in prayer, your talent in charitable works and your treasure to assist those who in need. Remember that giving is an act of worship and helps advance the mission of our parish and greater Church. RCAV Copyright © 2019 Archdiocese of St. Louis
