Low-level Drug User Should Not Be Sent in Jail, They Should Be
Sent to Treatment Centers
02
Using a low-level drug or nonviolent drug use,
brought many people in jail.
03
The Justice Department has announced that
thousands of low-level drug offenders will be eligible for early release from
prison.
04The government
should fund these low-level drug
offenders to go to a treatment center,
not in jail.
05Everyone or anyone who has an addiction problem should have
the chance to go to drug addiction treatment center.
06
Addiction is hard. It is one of the things that are hard to
control. These low-level drug offenders also need help. They
don’t need imprisonment. Imprisonment would only make an individual suffer
from withdrawal symptoms, while rehab would be a great drug addiction
solution for these low-level drug addicts.
07Why drug addicts should go to rehab not jail?
Because we all have the same goal. That goal is to make people
stop breaking the law, to stop abusing drugs, especially to stop
dealing drugs. And do you know how do you help someone
with a drug addiction?
08
The most effective way is to get them out from their addiction and that is the
best drug addiction solutions. If we can get them
directly into a treatment plan without bringing the
criminal justice system, we can save more money that can then be applied to the
treatment side.
