Dear Friends,

Literature - short stories in particular, play an important role in shaping the culture and values of the society. Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna taught highest truths of spirituality through simple stories.

Sri Ramakrishna Vijayam, the Tamil monthly of our order has recently conducted a short story competition emphasizing the importance of noble values of our tradition.

Nearly 1000 stories on various themes like service, religious harmony, spirituality, humanity, cultural heritage, patriotism, social responsibility etc. were received.

To felicitate and distribute prizes to the short story competition winners, a grand function is to be held at 'Vivekananda Cultural Centre', Vivekanandar Illam campus on 29.8.2014 (Vinayaka Chaturti).

Editors and senior journalists of various magazines and news papers will be participating in this function.
