Short Essay on the Person I Like The Most
Of all the persons I know, I like best Mr. Kunj Lai. He is my next door neighbour. He is
about fty!"e and is working as an a##ountant in the lo#al $tate %ank of India. I
ha"e known him for the last fteen years.
He is a man of a "ery #ool and sweet temperament. I ha"e ne"er seen him angry.
He presents a smiling fa#e to e"erybody. He knows how to smile his way into the
heart of e"erybody. He smiles and whistles under all diulties.
He is as patient as a woman and as #heerful as a #hild. He is always #alm and 'uiet.
He seldom allows anything to disturb his pea#e of mind. He has an e'ually good and
"irtuous wife. (here is perfe#t harmony in the house.
He has "ery pleasing habits. He is respe#tful, polite and #ourteous to all. He a"oids
pi#king up a 'uarrel with anybody. He turned away another man)s wrath with a
smile and a joke. He is "ery so#iable and is full of wit and humour. *bo"e all, he is
most unselsh and sin#ere. (hese 'ualities of head and heart ha"e endeared him to
all who ha"e anything to do with him.
He is fully #ons#ious of his duties and rights. He worries for his duties more than for
his rights. He is publi# spirited and puts the #ountry and the people abo"e self. He is
#ons#ious of the debt he owes to so#iety. He gi"es to so#iety in the same measure
as he re#ei"es from it.
He refrains from doing harm to others in any shape or form. He is law!abiding. He is
pure in thought, word and deed. His a#tions are in keeping with his words. He ne"er
goes ba#k upon his word. He is a gentleman par ex#ellen#e.
He regards physi#al tness as a moral duty. He keeps himself in perfe#t health to beof ser"i#e to his #ountry. He is a sla"e to duty and not a sla"e of his passions. Last
but not the least, he is true to his own self. He is always guided by moral
#onsiderations.
I make e"ery e+ort to follow in his footsteps. I look upon him as my mentor and
friend, philosopher and guide.
e "alue and admire some people su#h as parents, tea#hers, friends, professors
and mo"ie stars who in-uen#e our life for their spe#ial #hara#teristi#s. or me, my
mom is the person I admire most. In e"ery aspe#t of my life she played an
important role not only as a mother but also as a good friend and tea#her.
(hese abo"e mentioned properties has made my mom so spe#ial for me . $he does
not ha"e mu#h edu#ation, but in my "iew she is far more knowledgeable than a
tea#her in my life.

My ather
(his essay is about how a perfe#t father looks like for me.
/eople #ould say that the perfe#t father does not exist, I a#tually do not know if that
is true, but what I surely know is that my father is perfe#t for me0 1"erything in my
father is spe#ial2 the way he dresses, the way he mo"es, the way he beha"e, the
way he speaks et#. $ometimes, I just think that it #ould be great, if I #ould be a petit
per#ent of what he is. %ut let3s start to des#ribe the way that my father looks like.
*t rst sight, you #ould see that his #lothes are #lassy and formal2 howe"er, if you
know him as I do, you #ould noti#e that he dresses all kind of #lothes2 tight!tting,
dark #lear, #heap, expensi"e, soft, formal, informal, sporti"e. *ll his #lothes are
di+erent, and I like them, but being honest, there is a ja#ket that I do not like at all,
it is hea"y, brow and in my opinion a little bit oldie. His #lothes t well with the way
he looks, my father is tall and thin, he always has his hair #ut short, and he is grey!haired. In other words my dad3s appearan#e is simply uni'ue.
Mo"ing to his appearan#e, I #ould say that the way he a#ts and mo"es is an
important part of his personality. or example soothing parti#ular of him is that he
tends to walk "ery 'ui#kly, this may be the reason about why he is that thin, he
walks a lot e"erywhere, and I fre'uently belie"e that he does not walk, he jogs4
(aking about the way he eats, he has a parti#ular way to twist his tortilla and to
make some kind of #one, then he #hews it without noise, he lo"es to eat and e"ery
time that I eat with him, I wish I #ould enjoy my food as he does. hen he eats, he
tends not to speak2 howe"er, when he speaks is another story. hen he speaks is
easy to noti#e his expressions, be#ause he always frowns2 when he has doubts, he
always smiles when he is happy, and he always is serious when he is worried. His
expressions are something that makes e"en more interesting to listen to him.
He is the kind of person that is interesting to listen. I #ould say that when I listen to
him I #an learn something. 1"ery time that I want to ha"e an honest opinion, I
always go with my father, be#ause he gi"es me his opinion from the bottom of his
heart. In the other hand when he needs to tell me something, he waits the perfe#t
time to tell me, somewhere where it is #alm and relaxed. *nd if it is something bad2
he always tries to gi"e me his ad"i#e, when he gi"es me some ad"i#e, it is
important for me be#ause I #an feel the support that e"eryone needs, when my
father gi"es me his support, I #an feel #ondent and safe
My father is the kind of person that does not show his feelings a lot. %ut I #ould say
that he #an be though2 howe"er, when his with me it is not like that at all, he might
not kiss and jug me e"ery single day, but when he does, it is what I #onsider the
most sin#ere a#tions that someone #an ask for. hen e hugs me, I feel warm and
lo"ed, his hard skin be#omes a soft thing. (o #on#lude, some people may think that
this essay is a little bit too #heesy, and maybe it is, but I do not #are be#ause there

was not someone else that I wanted to des#ribe like this. I ha"e the wonderful
opportunity to ha"e this awesome father.
O"er the years that I knew her, I gained an un#ommon respe#t for the librarian at
our high s#hool. In one word she #ould be des#ribed as 5e##entri#5, but only
be#ause she refused to a##ept the stereotypi#al notion of what the term
5librarian5 had #ome to mean. (he student
s thought she was just plain weird, but
those who took the time to know her
reali6ed she was a person sear#hing for a
#omfortable identity.
*t rst glan#e, she #ould indeed be a
formidable gure to behold. Her hair was
most often in disarray simply as a resu
lt of her #ompulsion to go e"erywhere in
tenth speed. 7ot only was her gait a mar"
el, but her purpose was also a wonder.
$he always ga"e one the impression she
had a mission, and,
at that express
moment, had been #alled forth to duty.
hen #lasses would #ommen#e, she
would proudly stride o+ to her room, as
if a group of no"i#e missionaries awaited
her di"ine inter"ention.
Her habit of dress, howe"er, was not in
the least missionary!like. In fa#t, the
students used to kid her about getting a summ
er job as a highway -agman. (he

brighter the #olors, the more she be#ame
entran#ed by their irides#en#e. *s she
-ashed through the library,
students be#ame hushed as
if a bolt of lightning had
stru#k. In the morning, her emerald
greens and hot pinks were eye!openers for
the rest of us when she walk
ed through the staf
f room door.
8hara#teristi#ally, her rst words were
a singsongy 59ood Morning45 whereupon
e"eryone would look up waiting fo
r the next outpouring. $he had an
un#ons#ionable taste for polysyllabi# words : the more syllables the better. $he
used them with su#h -air, they looked
good on her2 and we #ould only smile, nod
and try to make a witty rejoinder. (oo
often, we would be unfamiliar with the
words, so she would again mar#h o+ to another "enue with the assuran#e that
she had stymied the lot of us.
(hough she spoke pre#isely, as you might
expe#t of one in her position, her
"oi#e was always at peak "olume. * fa"ourite response of the librarian3s aide
was, 5;ou shrieked, madame

parti#ular day nearing the 8hristmas holiday, a "ery well!established physi#s
tea#her on sta+ kissed her fu
ll on the lips in front of
almost all her #olleagues.
$he went into a rage and made it #lear
that another su#h liberty would be
inex#usable. Later that day, some mi
s#hie"ous students, who had gained a##ess
to the #rawl spa#e abo"e the library, lowered a rubber #hi#ken into her oe,
suspended a rope de#orated with mistletoe.
%y the end of t
he day, her patien#e
was se"erely tried and so it was no surprise to any of us when she polkaed too
exuberantly at the sta+ par
ty and kno#ked o"er the 8hristmas tree. hat would
ha"e been embarrassing for many others was
often summarily dealt with by 5(he
Happy %ooker,5 the pseudonym she was not unhappy to ha"e bestowed upon
her.
hen our #olorful librarian mo"ed away
to a new lifestyle, a #hi# hairdo and
trendy #lothes, we felt #heated when a "ery
a##eptable, but normal lady #ame to
take her pla#e. ho would wake us up
e"ery morning with the word for the dayight now she is miles away, yet I #all her and
her "oi#e is as warm as her embra#e. (here is people in this world who deser"e anaward, and she is one of them. (he way she has grown in the past few years
astounds me. I #an see it in her a#tions that she is stronger than i ha"e e"er seen
her, and ea#h time i see her she looks more beautiful than she did before.
$he is no ordinary woman. $he dan#es around the house with the gra#e of a sh out
of water, and she gets away with it. $he remembers only parts of songs and mo"ies,
I found it irritating2 but now all I want is to hear her sing her fragmented songs and
dan#e all the time. My fa"orite memory of her is playing #ard games, we would play
using weird a##ents that must be a #ross between >ussian, and I#elandi#. I3m notsure anyone else #ould understand us, and frankly I am pretty sure someone would
send us to 1ssandale if they were to see us. /arti#ularly when we #ooked a meal
together and turned on the musi#, then the magi# would really happen. (hose are
the memories I hold dear.I applaud my mother for her strength. My family tells me
that I am like her, and if I am anything like her than I would not #omplain. Ha"ing a
#hild at ?@ #an)t be easy, growing up I know she always tried her hardest to be
thebest mother she #ould be. Ha"ing a #hild with A diseases must ha"e taken a
pretty big toll on her, yet she learned all she #ould about them and pro"ided the
supporti"e lifestyle I needed to not let these diseases take #ontrol of me. $he
always tries to make the best out of a bad situation, and she has known her fare
share of that. 1"en with battles of her own she would wipe her tears away and takeaway my sorrows.
$he has taught me so mu#h, one thing I appre#iate the most is her interest in
natural produ#ts. Her interest has also brought a great many memories that I will

ne"er forget. $he was starting to get into natural shampoo produ#ts,I belie"e she
tried washing her hair with eggs and rinsing it with baking soda. $he #ame out with
her hair looking like rankenstein, it really did feel like wire. $he e"en tried to put oil
in it to x it, it made no di+eren#e. My mom has tried so many things, although
many of her attempts did not work as planned she ne"er stopped. *mong one of
her attempts was a body wash, it ended up as a lumpy #on#o#tion that looked thatlike glue and tapio#a beads. $he went on to #reate my fa"orite reju"enating body
wash with fresh mint and sweet thyme, and e"ery time I smell it think of her. $he
has so many books on natural home remedies, that I am "ery thankful for. %ut the
way she studies for hours and keeps going
is truly epi#, she is always eager to learn more and is "ery determined.
(hrough life we learn lessons, most of them are through people we meet and
situations we endea"our. I think its the small things learned that make the
di+eren#e in life. I learned so many things from her, and together they ha"e made
me who I am today. $he may not be the most patient at times, but she has been
"ery patient with me. My mother is my fa"orite person. (hey say a parents lo"e just
happens, I belie"e di+erent. $he has #ar"ed herself into my heart with a silken
blade. Lo"e and >espe#t #annot just be for#ed upon a person, but is a pro#ess like
any relationship that is done with patien#e, a##eptan#e, and frustration. I know I will
be su##essful in my life, be#ause of her. I ha"e learned ne"er to gi"e up, e"en when
the world is against you. %e#ause of her #ompassion and forgi"eness , I ha"e #ome
to know a lust for life and to feel #ontent e"en when the worlds a blur.

My favourite person my Grandfather
(here were se"en of us grand#hildren, and another three, but they li"e too far away
to #ome often. My grandfather was always so "ery pleased to see us. His house was
in the middle of the forest, a few miles from a small town #alled Mierlo. 9randfather
was a tall man, he always wore a hat, as he was bald and he thought maybe we had
not noti#ed him being bald, as he was wearing his hat also inside the house.
In the morning he #ame down and did his mousta#he. He had these long
mousta#hes, that rea#hed way past his mouth. 1"ery morning he lo"ingly #urled the
ends o"er with a pair of hot plyers, whi#h he heated on the wood sto"e. ;ou #ould
hear his mousta#hes #ra#kle by the heat.
e lo"ed him, he seemed a happy man and laughed a lot. He took us for walks, and
told us stories. One of his stories was in the war time2 how he went swimming in the
ri"er. *s he looked down in the water he saw these 9erman soldiers lying on the
bottom of the ri"er.. (here were four of them and they had their eyes open.
;ears later, we found out he #ouldn3t e"en swim.
*t night time, as we kids were noisy waiting for our food, grandfather would sit in
his easy #hair and play his re#order, loud and tunelessly. I think he did that so he
wouldn3t hear our noise.
In the mornings he3d take us to the lo#al tip in the sand dunes, and we all sear#hed
for things he #ould use, su#h as old #ans, #ups, "ases, and old lightbulbs. I think he
#ould use anything, really.
In the afternoon, he3d sit at his little table in the sun and work with a sand and
#on#rete mixture #o"ering, with endless #are, an old bottle with the mixture, and
produ#ing a pie#e of *rt, with a rose on the one side and the head of a small de"il
on the other. Bnderneath, he3d write a few words of Latin and the date, ?C %8. He
had a whole garage with these masterpie#es.
On#e a week he went to the pub and sold his bottle to anyone who3d ha"e it, for "e
dollars. His bottles went like hot#akes.
