PACHIM KETANIM FROM RABBI YUDIN: IN HONOR OF PARSHAT TERUMAH AND EIN CHADASH TACHAS HASHEMESH:
Parshat Terumah deals with the privilege of the construction of the Mishkan. We are taught that no less than
13 different items were to be donated to facilitate its building. The first 3 items listed are zahav – gold, kessef
– silver, and nechoshes – copper. We all know these to be 3 metals presented in descending order of value.
Rav Shalom Schwadron z”tl says in addition they correspond to 3 types of donors. Zahav is an acronym for
zeh notein bari – this first category are those who donate while they are healthy, purely altruistic. This is obvi-
ously the highest form of tzedakah. The middle class is that of kessef which refers to k’she yesh sakana
podim – when there is a crisis we utilize charity as a redemption. Finally, nechoshes – netinat choleh she
amar t’nu – the gift of a sick person who orders charity to be given. May we always be on the gold standard.

NURSERY SCHOOL NEWS The children are very much looking forward to Purim! The Nursery children learned about the four special mitzvot of Purim. They opened and examined a Torah scroll and a megillah to see the similarities and differences. The children made a triangle shaped sun catcher and learned that Hamantaschen are in the shape of a triangle with 3 corners, just like Haman's hat. They also began working on their groggers based on a character of their choice from the story of Purim. The Tiny Tots are also hard at work on their groggers. They decorated water bottles with triangles, Purim foam, shapes, ribbon and square tissue paper. Next week, we will fill the groggers and listen to the sounds they make. The Tiny Tots are also learning about and experimenting with the properties of sound. They filled baby food jars with different objects that made different sounds and tried to identify the sounds they heard. They are also learning about triangles and enjoyed a wonderful fine motor activity of sewing their own triangle hamantashen. During Hebrew with Morah Etty, the Tiny Tots learned the words מלך and .מלכה They enjoyed learning about all of the Purim characters and "placing" them in the palace (armon). The children had to figure out where each בבית, איפה המלך, איפה המלכה. בארמון, מיcharacter was and answer in Hebrew. Shabbat Shalom!
MIKVAH SCHEDULE Important Mikva notice. Please note the following changes of schedule: Please note special hours for Motzei Shabbat, March 11 – Purim Megilla Night – 8:45 PM – 10:15 PM. Beginning Sunday, March 26, weekday mikva hours will be 8:30 PM – 10:00 PM. Current Schedule: Sunday through Thursday hours are 8:00 – 9:30pm. The Mikvah opens on Motzei Shabbat approximately one hour after Shabbat ends and stays open for 1-1/2 hours. Please note that any arrival after 1/2 hour before closing time will incur a $25.00 late fee.
