Expressions of Interest for Architectural and Urban Design Consulting Services
Introduction
Nilesh Munot, the principal architect and urban designer is pleased to submit this expression of interest for the provision of architectural and urban design consulting services for various types of development throughout Sydney Metropolitan Region. He established Shobha Designs with a strong view to contribute towards the shaping of future development and creating of safe and enjoyable places for people. The practice stands on the solid foundation cast over 18 years of Nilesh’s extensive industry experience as an architect and urbanist.
Recently, Nilesh Munot won the ‘Peoples Choice Award’ for a design competition “Ideas on Edge” held by Parramatta Council. There were more than 150 entries out of which more than 25 entries came from other countries around the world. Shobha Designs is proud of their achievement considering this fierce competition.
Nilesh is a qualified, experienced and registered architect who provides a high level professional and personalised service. With combination of architecture and urban design qualifications and experience, Nilesh is well placed to offer the maximum value to any task including but not limited to –

Management Structure –
Nilesh Munot is the principal and registered architect and urban designer of the practice. All the designs, drawings and documents get scrutinised and checked before going out to clients, other sub- consultants and approval authorities. There is a graduate architect and a CAD technician/graphics on contractual terms that are supervised by Nilesh Munot on every project.
Technical Capacity and Capability –
Nilesh Munot is a registered architect with NSW Architects Registration Board. His 18 years of work experience in the industry makes him technically sound in the knowledge of design, construction methods and technology, understanding and interpretation of authority guidelines and policies and site inspections during construction phase of any project.
The capability of and capacity of Shobha Designs is underpinned by several projects both architectural and urban design, that have been undertaken by Nilesh as project leader, project architect or team leader in the past. Currently, we have substantial capacity and capability to undertake projects up to construction value of $20.0 million.
Quality Systems –
There is an in-house quality system in place at Shobha Designs. All the work gets reviewed and checked by Nilesh Munot before they go out to the clients, sub-consultants or approval authorities, etc.

About Nilesh Munot

Architecture Nilesh has been involved in a number of architectural projects right from design through till completion including Community Centre, Youth and community centre, houses, apartments, townhouses/villas, hospitality and tourism, aged-care residential facilities, industrial, commercial as well as heritage related projects.
Urban Design & Planning
Nilesh has a good understanding of Land Use and Rezoning process & applications, thorough knowledge of SEPP 65, other SEPP’s, DCP’s, LEP’s and other statutory documents. He has worked on several Urban Design projects such as town centre studies, main street revitalisation, master plans, review of Council’s DCP’s, precinct planning and work out to establish initial design parameters such as building envelope, urban design guidelines etc.

Award Winning Competition Entry by Nilesh Munot for Parramatta City Council – ‘Ideas on Edge’
Nilesh Munot and his team, proposed this bold, innovative, viable, iconic, and sustainable idea which was underpinned by a creative vision that incorporated fundamental urban design principles of activation, permeability, pedestrian connectivity and water sensitive urban design.
Shobha Designs was shortlisted as one of the finalists for this competition which received over 150 entries from all over the world. He then received the ‘Peoples Choice Award’ for this competition.
Our Vision – Create a vibrant Parramatta riverfront through its recreational use, Aboriginal heritage and multi cultural facet.
Our Design Objectives –
Improve pedestrian connectivity from the north part of the river to the subject site.
Provide a continuous physical and visual link from Prince Alfred Park to the existing council owned carpark site through the future redevelopment of the riverside theatres.
Provide safe and continuous pedestrian access from underside and eastern side of the Lennox Bridge in the form of boardwalk.
Provide safe and continuous pedestrian access from underside of Bernie Banton Bridge thus further connecting to the Old Kings School site.
