EM as we fondly refer to it is the SPATIAL, BRANDING AND MULTIMEDIA arm of Cantaloupe & CO. EM started off by carrying out 100% of all branding and spatial design within the Cantaloupe portfolio including the formally owned Amuseum.

We applied our concept of ‘EXOTICISM’ to all things creative, which in turn spawned EOXTIC MELON whose design mantra is ’Exotic Attention to Detail’.

At EM, we seamlessly blend the principles of classic art with contemporary trends to create timeless design. We offer a high degree of personalization and work closely with our clients to ensure that elements of our core persona, are subtly injected into their business image, space and whatever else creative that we work on, on their behalf.

Creative DesignStyling is a fast emerging and extremely sought after service that EM provides. We conceptualize and execute photo shoots as well as marketing campaigns. This includes but is not limited to Fashion, Product and Demographic Specific photo shoots. Additionally, we source models on a project-to-project basis. Visual Merchandising is a vital component of the retail and design industry, which is largely overlooked in the local market. We have specialists that offer assistance

Spatial DesignThe initial projects under this division were essentially in house, executed for Amuseum Boutique Bar (1 and 2) at the Galle Face Hotel, Cantaloupe Aqua in Talpe and Cantaloupe Boutique in Colombo. These acclaimed projects now serve as a virtual portfolio to demonstrate the skills we have to offer our clients.

The success of these design spaces have encouraged other established entities to commission our services, such as the HVA group, for whom we recently commissioned the Heladiv Tea Club, located at the Dutch Hospital Complex. Currently, there are multiple upcoming projects in the pipeline, which will help spread our design concept. In addition to this, we are now working with Asia Liesure Management PLC for the overhaul and design of their properties.

Cantaloupe Boutique, Cantaloupe Jewels & Cantaloupe Aqua

Cantaloupe Boutique (CB)Inspired by classic department stores around the world, Cantaloupe Boutique pays homage to its colonial housing whilst incorporating state of the art lighting and layouts to create one of Colombo’s most attractive yet practical retail spaces. Floor to ceiling glass storefronts, white displays and a signature checkerboard floor all contribute to the general design theme.

Cantaloupe AquaCantaloupe Aqua is the first property under the Cantaloupe Villa portfolio; it was conceptualized, restored and designed by EM. Defined, as a fashion lifestyle villa- Cantaloupe Aqua has created a new niche in Sri Lanka’s hospitality industry.

The design of AQUA was inspired by famous beach clubs around the world with a distinct infusion of colour and what we call Sri Lankan minimalism. Predominantly white décor is complimented by bright hues, Pop Art and the extensive use of glass and wide-open spaces. The design also makes use of the stunning Talpe oceanfront as a backdrop.

Amuseum Boutique BarLoop Venture (PVT) Ltd (a former subsidiary of Cantaloupe) introduced the concept of art déco nightlife to Colombo. The philosophy behind

Amuseum was to create an aesthetically inspiring environment, which people visit regularly and have a great time in.

The style of Amuseum is ‘Contemporary Baroque’. Amuseum features distinctive black chandeliers, elaborate paisley wall paper, ornate gold frame mirrors, a full length glass bar back and state of the art LED lighting which all combine to create what is well known as Colombo’s most attractive Lounge Bar.

Heladiv Tea Club The flagship outlet of HTC is located at the new shopping precinct and architecturally stunning, former “Dutch Hospital” building. HTC is a three fold concept, although it is first and foremost a Tea Salon, it is also a Dessert Bar and Boutique.

The client wanted to highlight the glamour of tea salons in Europe through the design of the space and differentiate it from more commercial establishments. The colour palette is a combination of white, silver, aqua marine and blue. Aquamarine chandeliers, Royal Blue sofas, Mirrors and contemporary art portraying innovative images of tea all combine to create a glamorous yet traditional space.
