What makes an effective PowerPoint Presentation?
• Not a lot of animationso All your slides do not need to
have an animation • Have fun with your slides
but not too much fun
• Limit Informationo You do not need to have every
single word you are going to say on your slide• Don’t bore your audience
• Color Schemeo Use colors that are easy to
read off of your chosen background• Don’t blind your audience
or make it hard to read
Time your presentation
Fancy Fonts can be hard to read
Summary
• Powerpoint is more visual than verbal: “a picture is worth a thousand words”
• The audience will take away the last thing you say
• Images should be good: not pixilated , out of focus, too dark
• Make graphs simple as possible
