Condition Essential Oils ApplicationAllergies Lavender,

Peppermint, Lemon

Add 1 drop of each oil (2 drops of each for dogs over 60 lb) to wet food. Or, dilute 1 drop of each oil with FCO, and apply to each back paw on sides of and between toe pads and/or on tips of ears. Or, diffuse 1 drop of each oil.

Arthritis, Joint Pain Frankincense,Peppermint

Dilute 1–2 drops of each oil with FCO, and apply to length of spine and over affected joint.

Asthma, Breathing Trouble

Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Lemongrass (or Cardamom)

Diffuse 2 drops of Eucalyptus and 1 drop of each of the others oils. Or, rub 1 drop each of Eucalyptus and Peppermint between hands, and then massage onto dog’s chest and throat.

Bladder and Urinary Tract Infection, Stones, Crystals

Frankincense, Protective Blend, Lemon, Digestive Blend (may be needed)

Infection: Dilute 1 drop of first 3 oils with 1 t. FCO, and apply over bladder and kidneys 5X/day. Swipe 1–2 drops in mouth. Stones or Crystals: Add 1 drop of Digestive Blend to mix.

Bleeding Helichrysum, Lemon

Drip directly into bleeding wound site. Repeat if bleeding does not stop.

Burns Lavender Apply or spray undiluted Lavender on location. Soak in cool water (no ice) for 10 min. Let dry. Spray again with Lavender ( can dilute with FCO).

Cysts: Interdigital (Paw) and Sebaceous Gland (Body)

Lavender,Frankincense

Paw: Put 1–2 drops of Lavender diluted with FCO on gauze pad; wrap, and secure. Body:

Apply 1 drop of each oil to cyst. Protect from licking. Keep hair trimmed away from cyst.

Diarrhea, Constipation, Nausea, Vomiting

Digestive Blend Apply 1–2 drops to area over stomach and 1 drop to each back paw between and on sides of toe pads. Swipe a drop in mouth.

Ear Infection Frankincense, Geranium, Basil,Lavender (or Arborvitae)

Dilute 1 drop of each oil with FCO, and apply on cotton swabs or balls. Squeeze out

excess oil. Use swab to clean out ear 2X/day until infection is gone. Dilute Lavender with FCO, and apply to soothe ear after cleaning.

Fear, Anxiety, Stress, Nervousness

Calming Blend (or Lavender), Grounding Blend(may be needed)

Diffuse up to 4 drops of oil. For severe cases, diffuse 2 drops each of Calming Blend and Grounding Blend. Or, massage 1–2 drops of Calming Blend on chest.

Fungal and Bacterial Skin Infection

Lemongrass, Lavender, Geranium

Dilute 1 drop of each oil with FCO, and apply to affected skin 3X/day.

Hot Spots Lavender Dilute 1 drop of oil in 1/4 t. solid VCO, and apply 2X/day.

Insect Bites and Stings

Lavender, Basil Apply 1–2 drops of each oil to bite or sting.

Insect Repellent (Fleas, Ticks, Mosquitoes)

Repellent Blend, Peppermint, Cedarwood, Arborvitae (and/or Lemongrass)

Mix together 40 drops each of Repellent Blend and Peppermint and 20 drops each of other oils in a 15 ml bottle with spray top. Fill remainder of bottle with FCO. Spray and rub on your hands, and then massage lightly into dog’s coat. Also apply to feet, legs, and belly. Use 2–4X/day according to need or exposure.

Seizures Frankincense,Lavender

Apply 2 drops Frankincense to base (back) of ears. Swipe 2 drops in mouth (lift lip). Repeat in 2–3 minutes if seizure has not stopped. Apply 1 drop of Lavender to chest to calm.

Skin Rashes, Irritations

Lavender, Frankincense, Roman Chamomile

Dilute 1 drop of each oil with 4 drops FCO, and apply 2X/day. Or, dilute 6 drops of each oil in 1 c. VCO. Mix well, and apply sparingly 2X/day. Store in a glass container with lid.

Sinus Infection Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Lemongrass (or Cardamom)

Diffuse 2 drops of each oil (in water reservoir of atomizing diffuser on low setting).

Wounds, Surgical Sites

Frankincense, Helichrysum (or Lavender)

Apply 1–2 drops of each oil directly to wound or surgery site 2X/day (will not harm sutures).
