What a great time to be in the cattle business! Please join us Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the farm for our sixth annual production sale and our strongest line-up yet!

Now, I’m not one to toot my own horn, but this is undoubtedly the best set of cattle we’ve ever offered and the kind that any cattleman (or woman) should be proud to raise. It’s taken 38 years of rigid selection to produce the cattle in this offering but it was worth the wait. And it’s extremely exciting to see the fruits of our labor becoming top producers in herds around the country. These cattle have rock solid genetics, breed-leading performance and outstanding phenotype with consistency and style. They are the result of stacking multi-generations of breed greats, including our own bloodlines.

These cattle are athletes raised in real-world environments, bred to travel rough terrain, designed to efficiently convert grass to meat, thrive on fescue, and withstand wide temperature extremes which are routinely experienced in these mountains.

They are multi-purpose cattle. Whether you’re a purebred breeder, commercial cow-calf producer, or want to win in the show ring, there’s something here for you.

The bulls, whether SimAngus™ or purebred, are extremely uniform and rugged. And the females, SimAngus™ and purebred, are feminine, have nice udders and exceptional dispositions, and each one should be staying in our herd. Then finally, the embryos are from our elite donors including King Pin’s dam, who have proven themselves top performers time and time again. At this time I want to invite you to Shenandoah Valley Simmentals owned and operated on a daily basis by Lisa Zirkle. The sale will be held at the farm in Quicksburg, Virginia on Saturday November 22nd at 1:00. Lisa has been raising quality, performance oriented Simmentals for 30 plus years. Shenandoah has been selling bulls privately for many years plus has had five production sales. Lisa resides on a century farm that was originally settled in 1735. You will find a great hospitality by Lisa and her crew plus you find great Simmental genetics that have been proven for many generations. This sale is a unique setting and is beautiful so it needs to be a must attend for any serious breeder.

The sale offering is strong and anyone should find quite attractive from a buyers stand point. The bulls are stout and ready to go work for your program whether commercial or purebred. The bulls will offer calving ease and performance plus will be a wide range of pedigrees. Please call Lisa on the bulls and any other lots, she knows this offering inside and out. This year there is a few older bulls that are two year olds, they are impressive and no doubt will get the job done. As far as the females, Lisa would like to keep them all however this year “ the Valley” sale offering is stronger than ever with great purebreds and SimAngus™. This year is offering will include some special embryos lots and some semen from some of Shenandoah Valleys top herd sires. Remember King Pin is In the Genex lineup and should be on your list to sample. Last years sale was a big success with cattle selling to 12 states from Florida to South Dakota. Again, every lot in this sale is backed by years of building strong, production oriented, real world traits.

This years sale offering will be on display on Friday and Saturday and you will be able to view at your leisure. The data, current EPDs, scrotal information, and additional information will be available. On sale day the cattle will not be taken thru the ring. All bulls and females in the sale had video footage taken of them and you will see on screen. Matter of fact, I would encourage all parties to view the video clips of each lot prior to sale week. Herd HealthAll cattle will have proper health certificates for immediate interstate shipment. The bred females have been pregnancy examined and are confirmed safe. All bulls have passed a breeding soundness examination. Each animal will be at the purchaser’s risk immediately after it is sold. Shenandoah Valley Simmentals is reserving semen interest on select bulls. These bulls, if collected, will be collected at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience. The buyer has 100% natural possession and 100% salvage value. An updated data sheet containing calving information and additional bull data will be available sale day.

Sale Registration and PaymentAll buyer numbers will only be issued with a valid ID and payment is due day of sale. DP Sales Management would appreciate timely settlement of receivables within 15 days of date of sale. Cattle will not be transferred until paid for in full DP Sales accepts Visa & Mastercard.
