13 And t he Egypt i ans made t he Bnei Yi sr oel t o ser ve wi t h r i gor ;14 And t hey made t hei r l i ves bi t t er wi t h avodah kashah ( har dbondage) , i n mor t ar , and i n br i ck, and i n al l manner of avodah i nt he sadeh; al l t hei r ser vi ce, wher ei n t hey made t hem ser ve, was wi t hr i gor .15 And Mel ech Mi t zr ayi m spoke t o t he meyal l edot HaI vr i yyot ( Hebr ewmi dwi ves) , of whi ch t he shem of t he one was Shi phr ah, and of t heot her Puah;16 And he sai d, When ye do t he of f i ce of a mi dwi f e t o HaI vr i yyot( t he Hebr ew women) and see t hem upon t he del i ver y st ool ; i f i t be aben, t hen ye shal l ki l l hi m; but i f i t be a bat , t hen she shal l

SHEMOT 2 1 And t her e went an i sh of t he Bai s Levi , and t ook t o wi f e a batLevi .2 And t he i sha concei ved, and bor e a ben; and when she saw hi m t hathe was t ov, she hi d hi m t hr ee mont hs.3 And when she coul d no l onger hi de hi m, she t ook f or hi m a t evah( ar k) of papyr us, and daubed i t wi t h t ar and wi t h pi t ch, and put t heyel ed t her ei n; and she set i t i n t he r eeds by t he bank of t he Ni l e.4 And hi s achot st ood af ar of f , t o see what woul d be done t o hi m.5 And t he Bat Phar aoh came down t o bat he her sel f at t he Ni l e; andher na' ar ot wal ked al ong by t he Ni l e' s bank; and when she saw t het evah ( ar k) among t he r eeds, she sent her amah ( mai d ser vant ) t of et c h i t .6 And when she had opened i t , she saw t he yel ed; and, hi nei , t hena' ar was cr yi ng. And she cal l ed shmo Moshe: and she sai d, Becausemeshi t i hu ( I dr ew hi m) out of t he mayi m.11 And i t came t o pass i n t hose days, when Moshe was gr own, t hat hewent out unt o hi s achi m, and l ooked on t hei r si vl ot : and he spi ed anEgypt i an st r i ki ng an i sh I vr i , one of hi s achi m.12 And he l ooked t hi s way and t hat way, and when he saw t hat t her ewas no i sh, he ki l l ed t he Egypt i an, and hi d hi m i n t he chol ( sand) .13 And when he went out t he second day, hi nei , t wo anashi m I vr i m

SHEMOT 3 1 Now Moshe was r o' eh ( shepher di ng) t he t zon of Yi t r o hi s khot en( f at her i n- l aw) , t he kohen Mi dyan; and he l ed t he t zon t o t hebacks i de of t he mi dbar , and came t o t he Har HaEl ohi m, even t o

SHEMOT 4 1 And Moshe answer ed and sai d, But , what i f t hey wi l l not bel i eveme, nor pay heed unt o my voi ce but wi l l say, Hashem hat h notappear ed unt o t hee.2 And Hashem sai d unt o hi m, What i s t hat i n t hi ne yad? And he sai d,A mat t eh ( a r od, st af f ) .3 And He sai d, Cast i t on t he gr ound. And he cast i t on t he gr ound,and i t became a nachash; and Moshe f l ed f r om bef or e i t .4 And Hashem sai d unt o Moshe, Put f or t h t hi ne yad, and t ake i t byt he t ai l . And Yi t r o sai dt o Moshe, Lech l ' shal om ( go i n peace) .19 And Hashem sai d unt o Moshe i n Mi dyan, Go, shuv ( r et ur n) i nt oMi t zr ayi m; f or al l t he anashi m ar e dead whi ch sought t hy l i f e.20 And Moshe t ook hi s i sha and hi s bani m, and set t hem upon adonkey, and he r et ur ned t o Er et z Mi t zr ayi m; and mat t eh HaEl ohi m i nhi s yad.21 And Hashem sai d unt o Moshe, When t hou goest t o r et ur n i nt oMi t zr ayi m, see t hat t hou do al l t hose mof et i m bef or e Phar aoh, whi chI have put i n t hi ne yad: but I wi l l har den hi s l ev, t hat he shal lnot l et HaAm go.22 And t hou shal t say unt o Phar aoh, Thus sai t h Hashem, Yi sr oel i sbeni ( My son) , even My bechor ( f i r st - bor n) :23 And I say unt o t hee, Let beni ( My son) go, t hat he may ser ve Me:and i f t hou r ef use t o l et hi m go, hi nei , I wi l l s l ay t hy ben, event hy bechor .

24 And i t came t o pass on t he der ech at t he mal on, t hat Hashem methi m, and sought t o ki l l hi m.25 Then Tzi ppor ah t ook a shar p st one, and cut of f t he ar l at ben( f or eski n of son) of her , and cast i t at hi s f eet , and sai d, Sur el ya choson dami m ( a br i degr oom of bl ood) ar t t hou t o me.26 So He l et hi m go; t hen she sai d, A choson dami m t hou ar t , becauseof t he ci r c umci s i on ( i . e. , [ br i s ] mi l ah) .27 And Hashem sai d t o Ahar on, Go i nt o t he mi dbar t o meet Moshe. Andhe went , and met hi m i n t he Har HaEl ohi m, and ki ss ed hi m.28 And Moshe t ol d Ahar on kol di vr ei Hashem who had sent hi m, and al lhaOt ot He had commanded hi m.

29 And Moshe and Ahar on went and assembl ed t oget her kol Zi knei Bnei Yi sr oel ;30 And Ahar on spoke al l hadevar i m whi ch Hashem had spoken unt oMoshe; and he di d haOt ot bef or e t he eyes of HaAm.31 And HaAm bel i eved; and when t hey hear d t hat Hashem had vi si t edt he Bnei Yi sr oel , and t hat He had l ooked upon t hei r oni , t hen t heybowed t hei r heads and wor shi ped.
