Christmas, our Lord s birthday was a really joyful time....with the program and fiestaat the church and many special greetings from our family and friends both here:'in CostaRica and from you there at home Thank you for remembering us this time of yearwhen i t means so much to be remembered We had 85 children at the children s programand party on Sunday morning, Dec, 23 and at Church that night, we had 125 people attending,to^^share in the program and the party, at which we served the traditional Christmas dishof arroz con polio (rice and chicken). Weinvited the Youth Group to have their party atour house, with 35 yoimg people attending. The girls and Janet were busy making enoughcookies to go around .it was a fun time, with singing, prayer time and gamesSharing Christmas as a body of Christ was a first for the believers in San Roque

We received a very spe cia l Christmas present this year as ou r son Sam was able to v i s i tus for 2 weeks. The time seemed to fly by, but i t was so good to be able to have him homeagain with us even for just a l i t t l e while. What a joy and a happy time fo r a l l of us here.Thank you Sam for making the effort to come and thanks to all who helped him get hereAlso thanks to all who sent gifts with him for us God bless each one of youAnother special Christmas present for us was Hal getting home to th e U.S. safe and soundafter being out to se a for 6 months.,. .Thank you Lord for your faithful care of ourchildren when they are f a r away from us

We now find ourselves very busy in preparing for our V.B.S. which star ts Feb. k. We ar eplanning on at least 70 or more children. Since we don't have many ready made materialsto work with, i t is a big job to think of workbooks, handcrafts, etc. for so many children.V e brought some craft supplies home with us two years ago and are able to use some andcopy others which has been a big help So i f any of the Churches have any leftoversfrom your V.B.S.'s this year remember us and save them Lord willing, we will bcoming to visit again soon Roberta and Sally are really a big help to us and wePraise the Lord for such willing and talented daughters. Plus, as a result of the specialtraining some of our young people received in July, we also liave plenty of helpers in thechurch We hope someday to work ourselves right out of a job .praise the Lord

The people in the church are growing and learning every day This will be a first timeexperience for them to be helping with V.B.S., so please keep all of us in your prayers
