In just a few days, Baptists from all over the Bethel Associa-tion will be gathering together at the First Baptist Church of Shellman to celebrate our unity in Christ and His redeeming work around the world. Our Spring Inspirational Meeting begins at 5 pm on Sunday after-noon, April 10th. We will have soul-stirring music and a chal-lenging message from our guest preacher, Rev. Tom Hocutt. Bro. Tom served for 17 years as the Associational Missionary for the Mallary Baptist Associa-tion in Albany. Prior to that, he and his wife, Martha served as our Southern Baptist Missionar-ies in Israel. I have asked my dear friend to come and share with us a message about what God is doing in the Middle East today, and how we as Christians in America should live in light of these world events. I believe you will find that Bro. Tom has a unique perspective on what is really going on, from a spiritual standpoint, in this volatile area of our world. He will explain to us how the Church is growing in that region, and some of the

specific challenges they face. You will definitely want to hear wh a t he h as t o sa y ! After our worship service, we will enjoy “finger foods” in the church Fellowship Hall. We en-courage all of our churches to consider making this your “Sunday night church time” for April 10th, and join your sister churches from around the Bethel Association for this sweet time of worship, inspiration and fellowship. We have only one item of business at our Spring Meeting, and that is the election of new associational officers, committee members, and team leaders for the next 12 months. This year, our Nominating Committee has been hard at work discover-ing and enlisting these leaders, and they will be bringing an excellent slate of willing and able servants to us for our formal approval. I want to thank the members of this committee for their great work: Jackie Wil liams (chair ), Mavis Johnson, Lorraine Durham, Robert Mitchell, and Ben M c F a t h e r . W e l l - d o n e ! Finally, our current officers

have requested that we extend the season for receiving the special offering for associa-tional missions until the Spring Meeting. At the meeting on April 10th the offering received during the service will go into the General Fund as a part of this year’s offering. But you may want to receive and prepare the offering from your church prior to that, and bring it to the meeting as your church’s show of support for the work of your local association. To date, we have received $1,778.00 toward our 2016 offering goal of $6,000.00. So if your church has not con-tributed yet, there is still time! I look forward to seeing a great host of our Bethel Association family at Shellman First Baptist on the 10th.

Joyfully serving, Bro. James

2 Corinthians 6:3-5

We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed. But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, 5 in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings;
