COMPETITION SECTIONS:1. Hay2. Silage3. Grains: Oats, Wheat/Barley, Beans

Entrants may supply a photo of the crop prior to harvest – to be used with the display of the Winning Sample at Sheepvention.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:1. Samples must represent a quantity of at least 10 tonnes and

have been produced by the entrant on one holding during the 12 months prior to the close of entries. Hay & Silage samples must be sampled using a coring device (available for loan at Livestock Logic).

2. An analysis will be done by Livestock Logic on each sample.3. There is no limit to the number of entries.4. Entrants will be confined to Greater Green Triangle.5. This Entry Form must be returned with Test Samples to Livestock

Logic, 60 Portland Road, Hamilton Victoria 3300.

JUDGING CRITERIAEntries in each class will be allocated points according to the criteria. Detailed cards will be placed with Winning Samples.

Hay & Grain1. Crude Protein determined by analysis. 3 points for each 1% to

the nearest whole number.2. Metabolisable Energy (ME) as determined by analysis. 6 points

for each 1% to the nearest whole number.

3. Moisture determined by analysis. 1 point deduction for each 1% to the nearest whole number.

4. Vetch will be Judged in manner where the Crude Protein (CP) will be reduced by 60% in order to maintain a level competition.

Silage1. Crude Protein determined by analysis. 3 points for each 1% to

the nearest whole number.2. Metabolisable Energy (ME) as determined by analysis. 6 points

for each 1% to the nearest whole number.

DISCLAIMER:The laboratory test results used to judge this competition are based entirely on the samples as received. Each entrant is requested to ensure that the sampling procedure is in accordance with Livestock Logic recommendations. However, the organisers and sponsors can not guarantee that the samples are representative of the lot from which it was taken and take no responsibility for how the test results are used.

JUDGES DECISIONShould the Judge determine that an entrant has been entered in the wrong class, the Judge, in their absolute discretion, shall transfer it to the correct class. The Judge’s decision shall be final and not subject to any questioning or appeal.
