SHAYLOR GROUP BUILDING A BETTER FUTURE | BUILD | INTERIORS | REPAIR AND MAINTAIN
Client: Cornwall CouncilValue: £102,000Location: Falmouth, Cornwall
The project comprised of the fit out and remodelling of the existing Adult Education Centre to provide improved facilities for local adults with learning disabilities. Works were undertaken in a live environment and included internal alterations, new partitioning, decorations and the provision of fully assisted bathrooms and kitchen areas with drop level surfaces. The project was awarded under Cornwall Council’s Capital Projects Framework and was delivered to complete customer satisfaction.
Falmouth Adult Education Centre
Client: Aldridge Parish ChurchValue: £1.3 millionLocation: Aldridge, West Midlands
The project consisted of the demolition of the existing rectory to form a new two storey parish community centre. The centre is now used for church groups and events by parishioners and the wider community. A new nursery, main atrium, commercial kitchen and large function room were created on the ground floor, with meeting rooms and offices formed on the second floor.
Aldridge Parish Church Community Centre
Client: Sanatan Manavta Day Care ServiceValue: £685,000Location: Leicester
Construction of a new Community Centre for the elderly Hindu residents of Leicester. The centre was constructed from traditional brick/blockwork with precast beam and block ground floor slab. Pre cast wide beam slabs were installed to the first floor along with a new trussed pitched roof and tiles.
Shree Sanatan Community Centre
Client: Mary Ann Evans HospiceValue: £662,000Location: Nuneaton, Warwickshire
Construction of a new bereavement centre, The Warren, for the Mary Ann Evan’s Hospice. The new two storey building is situated on the grounds of the George Eliot Hospital overlooking the wonderful gardens and has allowed the Hospice to expand its present service and can now offer one-to-one sessions, ‘Jigsaw’ tea parties and monthly Sanctuary Communion groups.

Client: Trustees of Nanaksar Gurdwara Gursikh TempleValue: £1.04 millionLocation: Coventry
Construction of a new three storey building extension to provide a new community facility alongside the existing Nanaksar Gurdwara Gursikh Temple.
Nanaksar Gurdwara Gursikh Temple
Client: Walsall New Deal: New HorizonsValue: £3.3 millionLocation: Walsall, West Midlands
Demolition of the existing Stan Ball Centre followed by the construction of a two storey Primary Care Trust facility to house an elderly care centre. Construction of new office and administration areas and a single storey Community Centre were also included in the project. External works included car parking, landscaped areas adjacent to the canal side, new services installations and forming access routes.
Abbott Street Community Centre
Client: London Borough of HillingdonValue: £900,000Location: Middlesex
The programme of works entailed the refurbishment of 4 libraries in a roll-out programme over a 2 year period. The buildings were typically single storey community libraries on housing estates in need of updating and refurbishment. Joinery, re-decoration, the creation of new ceilings and floors and associated mechanical and electrical works were all carried out.
Hillingdon Libraries
Client: Birmingham Mosque Trust LtdValue: £719,000Location: Birmingham
Extensive refurbishment and extensions to an existing occupied mosque in a busy city centre location. This prestigious project included the installation of a new third floor with new roof over the main mosque area. A three storey extension was built to the rear which required two new steel frame cedar clad stair towers being added to the building. The minaret over the prayer hall was replaced and internally the building was redecorated and refurbished.
