SJCLT is the only bi-state Community Land Trust serving both Nevada & California in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

September 7, 2004: South Tahoe Redevelopment Agency
approved Resolution NO. 2004-6 to donate 961 Tallac Avenue, a vacant parcel; and 3802 square feet of land coverage to St. Joseph Community Land Trust
Section 3334.2 (a) of the State of California Health & Safety Code
Declares that low & moderate income Housing Funds shall be used by a redevelopment agency for purposes of increasing, improving & preserving the community’s supply of low and moderate income housing available at affordable housing costs.
St. Joseph Community Land Trust charged with: Developing a moderate income home Single story 3 bedroom / 2 baths, with 2 car garage Within 5 years parcel deeded to SJCLT
TRPA also contributes…
“Bonus Unit” program developed for deed restricted moderate, low and extremely low income housing
Bonus Unit = Allocation (aka – the right to build)
South Tahoe Association of REALTORS® (STAR)
STAR pursued and was awarded a grant for $25,000 from the California Association of REALTORS® Housing Affordability Fund (C.A.R. HAF) to assist the St. Joseph Community Land Trust in developing the demonstration project.
