A Message from the President2104 marks the 26th season for the Sharon Bands. From its humble beginnings as a small contingent of local musicians, our organization has grown to be a regional artistic force, drawing talented musicians from all over Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
There are three essential ingredients to our success.

About the BandsThe Sharon Bands were founded in 1988 by the late Roy Scott, under the auspices of the Sharon Recreation Department. They have grown from a handful of Sharon residents to over 60 musicians from many area communities ranging in age from early teens to eighties. Our members include developing students; adults who have picked up their instruments after many years; musicians with professional training and experience; and music teachers. They come together because this organization offers one of the best opportunities in the area to make quality music in a collegial atmosphere. The Sharon Concert Band, which plays symphonic band repertoire, and the Roy Scott Big Band, specializing in swing, jazz, and dance music.
Sharon Bands in the Community
As a community arts organization, the Sharon Bands are committed to bringing a quality live music experience to Sharon and the surrounding communities, The Bands produce a variety of innovative indoor concerts !"#$%&'()*'+,--',%!'.$%(*#'/0%()12'3"#$%&'()*'1"//*#4'50"'.$--'6%!'()*'bands performing summer concerts at a number of band stands throughout the region. Membership in the band is open to area musicians from talented youth to senior citizens and everyone in between.
The Sharon Bands also support local and charitable organizations by per-forming at reduced rates or in some cases performing for free. An essential part of our mission is to give back to the community to the extent allowed 75'0"#'-$/$(*!'6%,%8*12'90"#'6%,%8$,-'1"::0#('.$--'*%,7-*'"1'(0'80%($%"*'and even expand this vital activity.
